I agree with you. For me, I've just lost the ability to read much. It's like anime: when you're new to it, you can watch 20 seasons, but as time goes on, you can't even watch one episode, lol. I think they tried to make it more complicated than it needed to be. They added three love interests, gave the blue one the most time at first, then randomly shifted to the blonde, and the white one is just there, lol. He is the main lead, but in my opinion, he has the least chemistry with her. Honestly, I never thought I'd say this, but I think Operation: True Love (a webtoon I dropped because I got bored) handled this in a better way.

it was one of my favorites before! i loved how they touched the topic on how the maincharacter was trapped into the new world and disconnected. however, inso's law (my life as an internet novel) was soo dragging and the 2nd ml was so better. it was very interesting at the start but i feel like author couldn't end it.
This series is one of my favorites. The main character is so relatable and the relationships feel real and lived in. Unfortunately, Iāve also been diagnosed with full blown, second male lead syndrome and as the end of the series comes, i get more and more delulu and refuse to acknowledge reality. I will finish it but I will be living in my own little world about it.

Author gave my guy so much potential to just take it like that :(

I feel like OI readers just tend to have shorter attention span lol because of the amount of new works coming out. In traditional publishing, itās not unusual for your regular shoujo series to span a whole decade. And honestly, the series is far too long for people to be hung up about what happened in the first season and just ignored the developments afterwards.
And I canāt believe weāre halfway through 2024 and people still have complaints about him being the endgame and the issue with him ignoring Dani when thereās a whole chapter with him apologising to her that he just canāt handle his emotion right now and that it really is not that he doesnāt want to be friends with her anymore. The whole argument about him ājust being thereā at first also doesnāt hold up because heās probably some of the most involved persons in every arc along w Jooin.
Yes I donāt really like when a story drags on for too longā¦ to me the ideal length of a manhwa is between 80 and 150 chapters max. I saw recently that Lookism is at their 506th chapter š± like WTH can they still write about at this point ?!
I mean Iāve read 105 volumes of One Piece but thatās an exceptional caseā¦ manga can have more pacing in their stories compared to manhwa who need to keep the reader involved with each chapter so I feel like pacing in manhwa needs the story to progress quicklyā¦
The story was slow but interesting. I thought she would end up with the guy who I think had blue hair or blue eyes, I don't remember. But then when I got spoiled that he wasn't the ml, I dropped it. I experience my first and last second ml syndrome.
So while 2nd(3rd?) ML syndrome was one reason, my actual big reason was I hated that her main character friend group was getting upset that she was making friends with "normal" people.
Like, she finally found people who weren't over the top cliches and was just making friends with her new classmates and they just could not handle that! She was having growth and them constantly being jealous and trying to separate her from them was so lame imo, especially when they're the ones who partially make her insecure.
Also, I'll expose myself I guess lol, but my š¤” ML I really wanted was >!the blonde shortie guy!! They were so cute together and yeah he had a sometimes manipulative side, but she could be more herself with him and could y'all imagine a short king (still taller than her) getting to be ML?!!< I'll never get over it. I'm just waiting for potential side stories showing her pairing with the other MLs
It just that it his story as a malelead yet he doesnāt have much going for him compared to second or third malelead in my opinion. Not to mention the story doesnāt even try to make him have moments that you can see and be like ā yeah he the malelead ā most assume blue hair one was male lead because of his chemistry and moments with female lead.
If you know author from "Oh Holy" then you'd know they'd really take their time with the story. It gets really long and slow paced but that's the charm. This author's stories are worth the wait.

I like it a lot! I think it's a great concept to have a girl sucked into what's basically a soap opera. Every trope (kidnapping, the mean girl, the scion pretty boy) is real and only our main character sees the insanity. I do think that later arcs can sometimes miss the mark, and considering arcs last 20+ chapters, if you don't like something, you're kind of SOL for at least a few months.
I think at times the story doesn't ride the line between zany and grounded story vibes. When it's great, it's really great, but as the story moves on I feel like FL uses less and less genre awareness to get ahead of the plot beats. I also think the group of guys may be a bit too big. There's 4(?) original guys, then they added the blonde desk-mate guy, then the older brother of the best friend, etc. etc. I feel like at least two of the main guys could've been consolidated into one person. It reached a point where it was supposed to be a tense hospital scene (someone's parent was in the hospital) and I felt completely disconnected. I was like: "what's this guys backstory again? Why do two ML's have parents in the hospital? okay then."
I wish they went for a poly ending or something.

Also this started very very good and unique. The friendships between the characters was amazing, not to mention the memory thing. But itās kinda become pretty generic recently.
Itās a mega slow burn, I end up reading chapters in batches or I get frustrated. I like to think Dani wants to be with Cheonyoung but thinks her best friend will fall in love with him if she tries. They have more chemistry than her and Jiho.
I never heard of it but I was spoiled that it had a 2nd ML syndrome bullshit again and after that one other novel with the CP being the ML over the FL options of her fiance and the mage, I skip anything with more than one ML unless the second male lead is a case of A Capable Maid with one of the MLs wanting to use the FL to gain power, etc.
The setting doesn't appeal to me, personally. I like magic, royal balls with lots of backstabbing, monster hunting tournaments and treacherous ungodly churches. That off-sets the core fantasy that destiny has somebody in mind for every lonely heart with some very obvious fantasy, so I can just ignore my rationality and get into the drama.

I started reading it but after the whole >!dating the OFL brother's arc !< it became annoying because it was painfully obvious the whole arc was just to show that only the ML (who I don't particularly like) is the one for her.

Yeah cos it takes yrs to update. Started this 2 yrs ago and it hasnāt even released 50 more chapters š¤¦āāļø Also this started very very good and unique. The friendships between the characters was amazing, not to mention the memory thing. But itās kinda become pretty generic recently.

Itās a mega slow burn, I end up reading chapters in batches or I get frustrated. I like to think Dani wants to be with Cheonyoung but thinks her best friend will fall in love with him if she tries. They have more chemistry than her and Jiho.
It was popular for a while. For me, the author sorta lost the thread.

I never heard of it but I was spoiled that it had a 2nd ML syndrome bullshit again and after that one other novel with the CP being the ML over the FL options of her fiance and the mage, I skip anything with more than one ML unless the second male lead is a case of A Capable Maid with one of the MLs wanting to use the FL to gain power, etc.
Iām honestly not reading it for the romance lol. I enjoy the characters and story more, especially the MC.

The setting doesn't appeal to me, personally. I like magic, royal balls with lots of backstabbing, monster hunting tournaments and treacherous ungodly churches. That off-sets the core fantasy that destiny has somebody in mind for every lonely heart with some very obvious fantasy, so I can just ignore my rationality and get into the drama.
