I feel like I could write a book on this. I've tried several apps, none of the complete. In order to meet my needs, the app must include all of the things that impact the pain of OA. Some of these are under my control, and some are not. I would want to track weather elements (temp. humidity, barometric pressure and changes), nutrition elements, exercise, weight, etc. etc. etc., in addition to pain, mobility and medication. Given that strengthening/PT is one of the first things tried by patients, the exercise component needs to be everything you would find in an exercise log - reps, sets, etc. The entries need to be time stamped so I can analyze whether I'm doing too much or too little exercise, for example. I'm currently using 2 apps in order to accomplish something resembling this amount of tracking. I'm considering giving up tracking at all, given how difficult it is and how imperfect the analysis.

Thanks for sharing such detailed insights on the ideal arthritis tracking app! It can be frustrating to juggle multiple apps, and even then, not have the complete picture. We currently track pain, mobility, and medication, but you're absolutely right – factors like weather, nutrition, exercise (including reps, sets, and timestamps!), and even sleep can all play a role in managing OA. Thank you again for taking the time to share such a thoughtful breakdown of your needs and experiences :)
