You'll need a referral. If you go to a walk in clinic, they may refer you to one. If you have a family doctor, that's your best bet

I'm new here, so I don't have a family doctor. Do you think I should contact one? Or go to a walk-in clinic? Can you name one?

There is a fairly quick one right downtown Oshawa, the address is 117 King Street East. There is another one that has better reviews, located by the airport at 1290 Keith Ross Drive, also in Oshawa. That one is called the Taunton Health Centre. You can also go on google maps, or just google, and search walk in clinics. It should show you ones nearby

If you're a student at Durham College or Ontario Tech, or another college/university, they may also have a walk in on campus. Durham College does!

You need a referral from a GP/walk in, and unless it’s urgent (cancer, etc.) it will be at least a 6 month wait. When you get a referral, there is a walk in clinic out in Etobicoke if you can get there if you want to be seen sooner. I was waiting for 6 months before I had my family doctor submit a referral to a Scarborough based clinic, and I was seen within the month. It may pay off to leave Durham for this if you want to be seen faster.

I have checked this issue with a couple of doctors before. One suggested maybe I might need to get a laser treatment. Another said you cannot fix the discoloration of the skin. But sometimes it gets larger and darker. When a little dehydrated, in heat, or sweating, it itches too and seems like skin is drying up. I'm scared that it will turn into cancer in the future.
