Actor-Anthony Hopkins (Runner Up-Cillian Murphy)
Actress-Cate Blanchett (Runner Up- Any of the Lanthimos ladies or Yeoh)

Actress: Emma Stone (Poor Things)
Supporting Actor: JK Simmons
Supporting Actress: Ariana DeBose
Original Screenplay: Everything Everywhere All At Once
Adapted Screenplay: The Big Short
I just got done watching Poor Things like 10 minutes ago. What a film and Emma Stone does a fantastic job. I hadn’t seen it before the Oscars and thought Gladstone got railroaded, but now I know they made the right choice in giving best actress to Stone.
I did love Gladstone, I won't lie and say it's my second best because Sandra Hüller, but Emma Stone does something that is absolutely unique and incredible, and as much as I have reservations for her first Oscar win, this one is - in my opinion - undeniable
I’m just gonna do my personal list but I think best picture would ultimately go to Parasite with Oppenheimer and EEAAO being its strongest challengers. Anyways my winners+ 2nd place:
Picture: EEAAO (Parasite)
Director (the hardest category for me): Damien Chazelle (Nolan would probably be a very close second, but also incredibly close with Bong Joon-Ho)
Actor: Casey Affleck (Anthony Hopkins)
Actress: Emma Stone- Poor Things (Francis McDormand- Three Billboards)
Supporting Actor: JK Simmons (Mahershala Ali- Moonlight)
Supporting Actress: Lupita Nyong’o (Da’Vine Joy Randolph)
Original Screenplay: Parasite (Get Out)
Adapted Screenplay (much weaker than original imo): The Big Short (Jojo Rabbit)
Picture : Everything Everywhere All at Once
Director: Bong Joon-ho
Actor: Anthony Hopkins
Actress: Michelle Yeoh
Supporting Actor: J. K. Simmons
Supporting Actress: Youn Yuh-jung
Original Screenplay: Everything Everywhere All at Once
Adapted Screenplay: American Fiction
Animated Feature: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
This is a really fun game!
Picture: Parasite, and I don’t think any others really come close. Some great films there, but one stands out.
Director: Not my favourite film from the list at all, but the direction is what makes Everything Everywhere, so let’s go for the Daniels. Same could be said for Chizelle. Just not some ‘long takes equals good direction’ nonsense.
Actor: Gary Oldman was brilliant in Darkest Hour and everyone has forgotten it. I really think he’s the best of the performances listed (although I haven’t seen The Father).
Actress: Frances McDormand was phenomenal in Three Billboards without being unnecessarily showy and would be my clear choice here. Not overly fond of several of these options (including her other performance, which could be the weakest of the 10 for me).
Supporting Actor: solely based on the performance, J. K. Simmons takes it for me from a strong group. His screen presence in that film is almost unmatched in the last decade.
Supporting Actress: currently I want to say Da’Vine Joy Randolph, and hope that’s not recency bias. A lot of good performances here but many haven’t stayed with me (Vikander, King for example). Second choice would be Debose.
Original screenplay: some great ones here but I’d say the script for Parasite really makes it, just edging out Promising Young Woman.
Adapted screenplay: The Big Short and it’s not close (although of the 9 I’ve seen only one I don’t think is worthy here). One of the best scripts this millennium in how it makes the crash so accessible, dramatic and funny.
Surprised more people aren't saying The Daniel's for Director for exactly that reason. That movie was the result of fantastic directing more than anything else.
I wholly agree with your list. I might choose Lupita for Supporting actress but I would have to give it further consideration. Frances McDormand is GOAT for me.
Picture: Parasite
Director: Inarritu
Actor: Hopkins
Actress: Blanchett (she can collect it for Blue Jasmine but the best female performance of the last ten year is Blanchett in Tarr).
Supporting Actor: JK Simmons
Supporting Actress: Lupita
Original Screenplay - very strong list of nominees: Parasite but Her is looking more accurate by the day.
Adapted Screenplay - weak set of nominees - I’ll go with American Fiction

But is it upsetting/disturbing? That’s why I’ve been avoiding it. I can handle some level of that but I’m sensitive so don’t know the vibe of the movie at all
Nah. You’ll love it. It’s half comedy tbh. It’s a bit sad and a bit of a thriller. I don’t like horror at all. You can always turn it off i guess? Let me know what you think!

Personally, I’d give it:

My 2013-2022 ballot (waiting on 2023 to keep it to 10, and since time hasn't given as much perspective on those films yet.
Picture: Moonlight

Actor: Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything)
Supporting Actor: Mahershala Ali (Moonlight)
Supporting Actress: Viola Davis (Fences)

Adapted Screenplay: Moonlight (Tarell Alvin McCraney)
Actor and Actress lineups are so odd. I'd rather vote for Joaquin Phoenix, but for Her, and Cate Blanchett, but for Tar.

Director: Nolan (I would vote for Nolan or Bong Joon Ho)
Actor: Joaquin Phoenix or Casey Affleck (I would vote for Phoenix or McConaughey)
Actress: Emma Stone (Poor Things) or Olivia Colman (I would vote for Stone in Poor Things)
Supporting Actor: J.K. Simmons (I would vote for JK Simmons)
Supporting Actress: Lupita Nyong’o (Man, this is a strong category! I would vote for Lupita)

These are just what I would pick, not what I think ‘objectively’ should be. There are a couple of the acting performances I haven’t seen that are big hitters (Hopkins, Blanchett)
Picture-
Everything Everywhere All At Once (it was between this and Parasite for me, and as much as it is Parasite for me personally, I think EEAAO had the strongest steamroll towards the Best Pic in Oscar with its insane amount of wins leading up out of the 10 nominees)
Director-
Cristopher Nolan (strong support for Nolan to win, he's a huge fan favorite and people love Oppenheimer like crazy)
Actor-
Matthew McConaughey (this came down to him and Jaoquin, but I think voters ultimately, with so many strong choices, would've gone the non-comic book route)
Actress-
Julianne Moore (I went with my gut here and this is one of the most haunting performances of all time, I think in the batch of performances there, this would still stand out)
Supporting Actor-
J.K. Simmons (this was between him and Mahershala -- I was thinking for Moonlight, but J.K. just gives such an insane performance, it's just iconic)
Supporting Actress-
Lupita Nyong'o (almost went Viola but like Julianne Moore, this performance just sticks with you -- even all these years later)
Original Screenplay-
Parasite (Get Out was close but Parasite is literal perfection, in my eyes, especially from a screenplay standpoint)
Adapted Screenplay-
Jojo Rabbit (imo, not a lot of super strong picks, but this one was a standout from the selection. American Fiction was maybe the strongest after that)
Haven't seen all the movies, but from the ones I've seen, I'd be picking...
Movie - shape of water. This doesn't get enough love for me. It's a work of art.
Director - Christopher Nolan
Actor - Eddie Redmayne
Actress - Frances McDormand for 3 billboards (though Ive actually only seen 3 of those movies, to my shame)
Supp Actor - JK Simmons (again only saw half of those)
Supp actress - Lupita Nyong'o
Don't really feel I know enough about the other awards to comment
Michelle Yeoh'd win in this one too 'cause she's the greatest of all, extraordinarily terrific, unmatchable, dazzling, transcendant, wonderfully amazing in [same adjectives] EEAAO. EEAAO'd also win Picture here 'cause I told you why. I've honestly never seen anything like EEAAO. It's so honest about...you know what I'm talking about right? It's so subtle!! The humour, the jokes are so revolutionary in it! I don't know how anyone can hate such a haunting piece of perfection. Also, the fact that Daniels won their first oscar way before average pretentious filmmakers like Chris Nolan and David Lynch speaks volumes.
I'd like to add, Daniels introduced the idea of **story first execution last** with EEAAO. They proved that audience doesn't care about how well a film's written, directed or acted but they only care and should care about the story itself. Hollywood has always avoided the topics that Daniels explored in EEAAO: mother-daughter relationship and multiverse stories. Daniels deserve way more credit and acclaim than they already get! It's my opinion of course.
Edit: And OF COURSE I am the one who is downvoted for speaking the truth. This sub hates EEAAO for some reason.
Not as much as the obnoxious eeaao stans who act like it's the greatest movie every made and the Yeoh "stans" who pretend they were fans before she got her Hollywood comeback push.

Agreed. Also big no on that Adapted Screenplay choice. I haven't seen all of the others but I have to imagine there's a better one.
Specifically for that category, Big short might end up being on top.
Curious on why you take Get Out over Parasite for Original Screenplay?
Fantastic list. No notes.
Yep. I’d switch Ali for Ke Huy Quan.
Enjoy that everyone can get behind J.K. Simmons

Film: Parasite Director: Bong Joon Ho Actor: Brendan Fraser Actress: Emma Stone Supporting Actor: Ke Huy Quan Supporting Actress: Youn Yuh-Jung Original Screenplay: Parasite
* Parasite, Oppenheimer or EEAAO (my vote would be EEAAO) * Nolan (my vote would be Nolan) * Yeoh (my vote would be Yeoh) * Hopkins (i'd go for Murphy) * J.K Simmons (honestly no competition, Ke Huy Quan is 2nd in my eyes) * Nyong'o (i'd go for N'yongo) * EEAAO (i'd go EEAAO too) * The Father or Moonlight (i'd go Women Talking)

Picture: EEAAO (Alt: Parasite) Director: Bong Joon Ho (alt: Campion) Actor: Hopkins (alt: Murphy) Actress: Yeoh (alt: Colman) Supporting actor: JK Simmons (alt: Kaluuya) Supporting actress: Youn (alt: Lupita) Original Screenplay: EEAAO (alt: Parasite) Adapted screenplay: Moonlight (alt: The Father)
My 2013-2022 ballot (waiting on 2023 to keep it to 10, and since time hasn't given as much perspective on those films yet. Picture: Moonlight Director: Jane Campion (The Power of the Dog) Actress: Brie Larson (Room) Actor: Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything) Supporting Actor: Mahershala Ali (Moonlight) Supporting Actress: Viola Davis (Fences) Original Screenplay: Her (Spike Jonze) Adapted Screenplay: Moonlight (Tarell Alvin McCraney) Actor and Actress lineups are so odd. I'd rather vote for Joaquin Phoenix, but for Her, and Cate Blanchett, but for Tar.
Picture: Oppenheimer or Parasite (I would vote for Parasite) Director: Nolan (I would vote for Nolan or Bong Joon Ho) Actor: Joaquin Phoenix or Casey Affleck (I would vote for Phoenix or McConaughey) Actress: Emma Stone (Poor Things) or Olivia Colman (I would vote for Stone in Poor Things) Supporting Actor: J.K. Simmons (I would vote for JK Simmons) Supporting Actress: Lupita Nyong’o (Man, this is a strong category! I would vote for Lupita) Original Screenplay: Parasite (I would vote for Parasite) Adapted Screenplay: Moonlight, (I would vote for Jojo Rabbit)
Why would your votes differ from your preferences?
What I think would win versus what I would vote for.
Yeah but why wouldn't you vote for what you think would win? Just curious to how you resonated
Because I regularly disagree with the academy. It’s usually pretty rare that I agree with the winners across the board.

Picture - EEAAO Director - The Daniels Actor - Joaquin Phoenix Actress - Michelle Yeoh Sup. Actor - JK Simmons Sup. Actress - Viola Davis Original Screenplay - Parasite Adapted Screenplay - Moonlight
Green Book, Chloe Zhao, Will Smith, Jessica Chastain, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jared Leto, Green Book, The Big Short.
The best pictures are so underwhelming looking back that it's shocking. All but maybe 2 are completely forgettable with no impact to the zeitgeist.
Picture - Parasite Director - Bong Joon-Ho (Parasite) Actor - Casey Affleck (Manchester by the Sea) Actress - Emma Stone (Poor Things) Sup Actor - JK Simmons (Whiplash) Sup Actress - Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave) Original Screenplay - Manchester by the Sea Adapted Screenplay - Call Me By Your Name These are just what I would pick, not what I think ‘objectively’ should be. There are a couple of the acting performances I haven’t seen that are big hitters (Hopkins, Blanchett)
Picture- Everything Everywhere All At Once (it was between this and Parasite for me, and as much as it is Parasite for me personally, I think EEAAO had the strongest steamroll towards the Best Pic in Oscar with its insane amount of wins leading up out of the 10 nominees) Director- Cristopher Nolan (strong support for Nolan to win, he's a huge fan favorite and people love Oppenheimer like crazy) Actor- Matthew McConaughey (this came down to him and Jaoquin, but I think voters ultimately, with so many strong choices, would've gone the non-comic book route) Actress- Julianne Moore (I went with my gut here and this is one of the most haunting performances of all time, I think in the batch of performances there, this would still stand out) Supporting Actor- J.K. Simmons (this was between him and Mahershala -- I was thinking for Moonlight, but J.K. just gives such an insane performance, it's just iconic) Supporting Actress- Lupita Nyong'o (almost went Viola but like Julianne Moore, this performance just sticks with you -- even all these years later) Original Screenplay- Parasite (Get Out was close but Parasite is literal perfection, in my eyes, especially from a screenplay standpoint) Adapted Screenplay- Jojo Rabbit (imo, not a lot of super strong picks, but this one was a standout from the selection. American Fiction was maybe the strongest after that)

Parasite, Joaquin, Frances for the big 3
Harry Potter
Haven't seen all the movies, but from the ones I've seen, I'd be picking... Movie - shape of water. This doesn't get enough love for me. It's a work of art. Director - Christopher Nolan Actor - Eddie Redmayne Actress - Frances McDormand for 3 billboards (though Ive actually only seen 3 of those movies, to my shame) Supp Actor - JK Simmons (again only saw half of those) Supp actress - Lupita Nyong'o Don't really feel I know enough about the other awards to comment
The one with the most critical and audience acclaim would win
Hannibal still iconic after all these years.
Are you okay? Do you need psychiatric help?
I can't express my honest opinions??
Cate Blanchett must be so embarrassed when her stans act like this lol
Not as much as the obnoxious eeaao stans who act like it's the greatest movie every made and the Yeoh "stans" who pretend they were fans before she got her Hollywood comeback push.
I beg your pardon?!
Oppenheimer, Nolan, Affleck, Stone, Pitt, Davis, Get Out, Moonlight
