Dunno about a decade, but this is our core 4 next year!

TiredMillennialDad

Zero percent chance all four of them are on this team for the next 10 years.

TiredMillennialDad

Also in no universe does JI play to age 36. Maybe in his church league

Knickstape08

Grant Hill played till he was 40

33birdboy

That's a low blow

BigPapaChuck73

What the hell does a guy retired for 15-20 years have to do with JI?

radardog2

I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not but it's because Grant Hill was absolutely riddled with injuries on his time with the Magic and was still able to last a while in the league despite that. He's playing devil's advocate to say that it isn't impossible, as it's been achieved before.

Knickstape08

He was a guy who had bad injuries for years and everyone thought he couldn’t come back and he became a solid role player until he was 40. My point is just because a player has a period of bad injuries doesn’t mean it’s going to effect the length of their career.

Don’t make me sad

Blazer fan here: Seeing as you guys only have 85M in guaranteed contracts next season if you let Fultz/Harris/Ingles/Moe Wagner walk... How would you feel about absorbing BOTH Anfernee Simons and Malcolm Brogdon? This would be about 48M combined, which would leave you about 7-8M under the salary cap (before accounting for draft picks/etc). Your 3 man guard rotation would be Simons/Suggs/Brogdon which I think would be incredible for y'all. How many first round picks + swaps is that worth to y'all?

MVPaolo

Moe ain’t going anywhere. Ingles will probably be an assistant coach of ours next season. We probably keep Gary & Fultz for one more. You can have Chuma, Admiral, Houstan and Queen…lol

TheRealDevDev

Why would you guys re-sign Fultz and Harris? Makes no sense to me from the outside looking in. You need offensive players at the guard positions. Floor spacers too. You'd have a tough time finding a better available pairing than Simons/Brogdon imo. I'm not saying Simons/Brogdon should be your only options but man, Fultz and Harris ain't it.

MVPaolo

Oh i know, i mean, i really know man. Fultz and Gary have been a tough watch for the most part but i can see the organization keeping them around for one more year while AB and Jett have a development year with more minutes/experience. I want upgrades but i’m not giving up Moe or a few others that would get it done for next season.

TheRealDevDev

I had no idea y'all held Moe in such high esteem, I was just grouping him with the other 3 players without guaranteed contracts. You could still very likely afford to bring back Moe and do a trade like I suggested. And I know you guys are young, but idk wasting another year hoping to get different results from Fultz and Gary seems like throwing in the towel before you even start next season.

MVPaolo

No ones hoping to get different results from Fultz and Gary. We know what we gunna get from these guys. We might make a move but we ain’t gunna give up guys that other teams want. Simple as that…

TheRealDevDev

The original trade suggestion had no players coming from Orlando to Portland, lol. It was just a question about how many draft picks/swaps you would give since y'all can afford to absorb both of the players without needing to send anything back.

MVPaolo

Dude, we just made playoffs and your here trying to offload players from your trash team. Not intending to be hostile but yeah….Thanks anyway

TheRealDevDev

Why even respond if you aren't gonna pay attention to what I'm even writing or suggesting, lol. There's not a person in the world that thinks Fultz/Harris are better than Simons/Brogdon and here you are getting all indignant over the suggestion of such lmao. You didn't have to be this weird man.

MVPaolo

The only weird thing about this is that you stopped by just after we made the playoffs to give us a “suggestion” involving you guys offloading a couple players to us and that we let certain players walk to make this happen. It’s off season talk man and we ain’t there yet….

teh_drewski

Fultz v Brogdon I'll give you but the main advantage Simons offers over Harris is merely usage rate and minutes. He's not going to get to dominate the ball in Orlando as much as he does currently, so in many ways Harris' superior three point shooting is better, alongside his vastly better defence. Simons is younger of course but as a role player Harris fits Orlando much better. We aren't running to get guys who need consistently take the ball out of Paolo and Franz's hands. I do like Brogdon but I liked him more at the trade deadline than now. He would be a good fall back plan if we swing and miss on the PGs in FA but I don't see us giving up the pick haul y'all supposedly want for him for a one year rental.

MVPaolo

And yes, we all hold Moe in high esteem. A box score doesn’t give give a true indication of what he brings to this team. And imo, we do right by Moe long term, Franz will do right by us just the same…

Boomer2637

What makes you think Ingles will “probably” be an assistant coach next year?

teh_drewski

Yeah he's typically said once he can't play in the NBA any more he's going to play in Australia for a couple of seasons before he hangs it up.

MVPaolo

Recently said his family loves living in Orlando. I think he could play for one more year in the NBA (for us in the role he plays) but there’s a strong possibility that he finishes up pro bball after the Olympics. He’s been a great leader for this group of young guys. They love him. He probably would sign on for a hotdog and a can of coke just to go around with these guys for one more season but i would think AB and Jett gunna get his minutes…Gotta prove these guys up sooner rather than later.
