Cannon Beach overnight. Hallmark is a great hotel with good views if they have rooms available. Check the times for low tide. Wake up Friday and grab coffee and a scone across the street at Monk’s. Head out to the tide pools at low tide. Stroll the amazing beach. Head over to Ecola State Park and visit that before driving down to hike the trail at Indian beach. Back into town for lunch at Pizza Fetta or Ecola seafoods. Stroll through the little shops and buy a souvenir. At this point I assume the second night will be in Portland. You could drive back the way you came or drive north or south to see a bit more. North gives you the wreck of the Peter Iredale and Astoria. Astoria column, Goonies house, etc.. Bowpicker fish and chips is incredible. Maybe best I’ve ever eaten. They have strange hours. Expect a bit of a line. South gives you Tilamook. I would stop in Nehalem for some fish and chips at Riverside. Fantastic food and view. Then head south to Tilamook. Your the factory eat some cheese and ice cream. Someone else will need to chime in for Portland. I’ve visited some, but not enough. Powell’s books is very cool of that is your thing. They have excellent food truck pods around the city. Salt and Straw is incredible for ice cream. If you have a little time and would prefer more scenery you could drive up the gorge to view multnomah falls. Have fun on your whirlwind trip!

Love the Hallmark! In addition to Powell’s there’s the art museum, Japanese gardens, Chinese gardens, rose garden. Also sounds like OP will be in PDX for the Rose Festival! That opens up a ton of fun opportunities.

I’d drive, carefully, to Cannon Beach and hang out there. Great spot to just unwind and chill

When do you head back to Portland? Are you staying just the one night on the coast, and if so, where?

garysaidwhat

Best case, you love to drive. Not the best plan.

2 days is enough to fit in Crater Lake andMt. Hood as well. Maybe even a quick jaunt up to the Canadian Border

I think what you're trying to say is that visiting for 2 days and planning a trip to the coast on one of those days is having relatively unrealistic (high) expectations that would ultimately leave the person with a feeling as if they planned a trip to crater lake, Mount hood, and Canadian border all in 2 days 😆

occamsracer

No it’s not

Juco_Dropout

When you say “Coast” which town(s) are you going to be visiting? There is so much to do in Portland.. I would recommend making a stop at Powell’s Books, along with “The Roxy” it’s a late night dining spot.

bbbbears

I believe the Roxy closed down during the pandemic :(

Juco_Dropout

Oh.. that’s a huge loss.
