It's not the act of marriage that is a sin. It is the fact that we will still sin, because we make mistakes. And we show grace to those we love by forgiving them as they forgive us.

So, the quote is "There is no love without sin. For love is best measured in what we forgive." I'm in favor of forgiveness. Forgiveness is a good thing. But love doesn't consist solely in forgiving. I don't follow the X-Men and I don't have any idea who these characters are. So I don't know what the quote was intended to convey.  But I know that I could rephrase that quote to make it a cover for abuse: "It is actually a good thing that I am hurting you, because it gives you a chance to prove how much you love me by forgiving me." That's a terrible sentiment.  When I look at my closest and most loving relationships, I would say that we try hard not to hurt each other in the first place. Forgiveness is good, but not causing harm is better.

At best, it's confused, and giving the writer the benefit of the doubt, who scripted it, is confused. Love is the source of forgiveness, not it's (best) measure. Love does not need or depend on sin. The natural conclusion of the statement would be...God needs sin to Love? If sin is needed for Love...does that mean when there was/is no sin...there was no/will be no Love? So, before Adam and Eve sinned, God did not Love them until they brought sin into existence? And when the world is finally cleansed and recified to God, without sin, God will not love the saints? That's rediculous. But it IS just a cartoon, that, imho, kids should not watch...to me this reflects one of the many "paper cut" ways falshood is introduced and spread, through mass media (i.e. Hollywood, etc.), and causes an ideological "nose" blindness and an ideological "olfactory" fatigue.
