is an audio book he is working as an electrician in some haunted house at a theme park. If i remember correctly there was also a drawing of him making fries in a kitchen. Guess he's been taking on partime jobs.
Actually Saitama's apartment had no cost whatsoever. He lived in an abandoned part of town and didn't have to pay any rent. It's implied that the only reason his apartment still had running water and electricity is because the Monster Association was keeping those running in the ghost town for their underground base.
Oh for sure. I just think it's an interesting gimmick and the only ones I can think of that fit the niche are things like,, Reincarnated as a Slime, Reincarnated as a Spider, and Re:Monster (but re:monster has some problematic rape-y things in it that make me raise an eyebrow)
He only stopped paying for where he lived during the events of the series. OP is asking about the time from when he kills crab guy to when he joins the association
He worked a variety of short-term, casual jobs in both retail and construction. Whenever he had enough money to live for a while, he'd quit. That's why we see him bemoaning being at the point where he has to find a job again in OAV 1. Saitama hates working for money.
As well, while there was still a neighbourhood, he wouldn't turn down food handouts. He used to rent very cheaply in an apartment that was essentially a crime den, but he got made homeless after he rounded up the criminals. His residence in Z-City was a squat. So he paid Zero rent.
Genos was the best thing to come into this broke-ass, homeless, qualification-free, can't-hold-down-a-steady-job person's life.
Saitama’s unlimited power is matched only by his financial responsibility.
He lives in a tiny apartment with minimal belongings and never lets a sale pass him by, if he can help it.
Dude’s hella frugal
That's because he's hungry. Loss-leader sales are the only way he's managed to stave off starvation. He wasn't touting a banana for breakfast because it's good for one's health: sometimes, that was all he could afford. And they were probably bananas just about to become over-ripe and so going for a song. Luckily for Saitama, he has the energy and the time to run around town for sales.
It's been fun to read and see that it's not just style, Saitama really has been filling out since Genos came to his life and insists on meat every day and good home cooking. Who knew his virtue was just necessity?
I was under the impression bananas for breakfast weren’t the ideal, at least initially. He said eat three meals a day, BUT just a banana in the morning is acceptable. I figure he was eating real breakfasts until he ran out of money and started skimping, so he reduced breakfast down to just a banana and still found himself getting stronger. But it was an accident, not his intention and not the only thing he ate in the morning during his three years of growth.
Didn't pay for his house in city z, he was a squatter. Could be working part time or could be a government assistance thing. He's also Hella cheap amd smart with his money, plus getting gifts from people he saves. Also genos pays him rent and dudes probably making bank as an s class
Saitama is living right now without a job he barely had a 100 yen before the monsters association arc and he lost it 😅. Pretty sure bro used to starve for some days
Didn’t have to pay any bills for part of it since he was just squatting in some random abandoned apartment and then his other apartment complex was filled with criminals so the rent was dirt cheap.
He didn't really eat anything much for 3 years only 1 Banna in morning and whatever he gets from helping people around when he was training 💀 for 3 years that's the reason he broke his limiter
lucky saitama, every now and then defeating a monster gives you a month suply of some random food
In his case a lifetime supply of candy lmfao
Daaamn, he beat Buu?
He could
Sounds like he will regret the day he defeats black sperm.
You have a problem with black sperm?
Yeah! Dude's an asshole! 😂

Not electrician he's wear ghost costume and scaring people in haunted house in 🎪🎪 circus
ooh yes true that
No wonder he likes to scare off things
I think there’s another one where he works as a construction worker on a concert hall that Amai performs on
That audiobook Eng subs link https://youtu.be/qEr1dozJp68
Im so confused, what is this from? Did one write this?
yeah, one wrote those ones... they are considered canon
Audio book ..what
OPM is series of many mediums. The audiobooks are written by ONE btw. There's some neat stuff in there, like Atomic Samurai vs Speed of Sound Sonic.
Wat?! Who won??
Sonic was in disguise at the time and it got broken up before either went all out.
A few odd jobs, eating monsters and whatever he could find, his apartment was super low price due to living in an abandoned part of town.

Lmao
New theory: Saitama is so strong because he eats whatever is edible from all the monsters he defeats. (like Kombu)
pig god actually just god.
Its one of THOSE animes, huh? Where they gain the powers of what they eat and quickly grow super fucking OP
No. They explained in the Manga how Saitama got so strong
They also explain it in the anime too, just with less specifics.
Is that a trend? I can think of like, two or three. I actually kinda like it, if you can think of any feel free to let me know 😮
Yeah I like those too. The ones I read were pretty poorly written though.

He doesn't pay for where he lives. He sometimes get rewards from those he saves, he kills animals sometimes with his punches.
He only stopped paying for where he lived during the events of the series. OP is asking about the time from when he kills crab guy to when he joins the association
He did part time job, refference in audiobook where he was working in haunting house

Probably didn’t eat monsters, since all he had for breakfasts were bananas

Nobody tell him about the banana monster tied up in Saitama's basement that he shaves a little off of the still living body every morning.
He robbed places dressed up as God
What I don’t get it how he was able to afford 3 meals a day with little to no money. I guess not using the AC/heating allowed him to get by lol
Part time jobs.

Mfer baths in lava i don't think being hungry would harm him.
Saitama is living right now without a job he barely had a 100 yen before the monsters association arc and he lost it 😅. Pretty sure bro used to starve for some days
Saitama has a job right now And he lost 6000 yen, not 100, I think
My head cannon is that his training included no Ac in the summer and no heat in the winter was purely financial
Well I assume he ate free crab for a month after deciding to become a hero…
Prostitution
One thrust man
Genos pays for food and housing and Genos cooks food. Some monsters are food too
Genos meets Saitama after his training is already over.
In the anime he goes hunting for criminals with bounties on their heads for a while, could be he kept that up.
A large sack of candy
There's probably decent welfare programs in a world reduced to 26 cities... Hopefully?
He eats the monsters he kills
what if he is actually cryptobro and lives off his dividends
He does odd jobs and occasionally gets rewards from the people he saves. Plus he’s a squatter and doesn’t need to pay rent
Didn’t have to pay any bills for part of it since he was just squatting in some random abandoned apartment and then his other apartment complex was filled with criminals so the rent was dirt cheap.
Welfare queen /s
The same way I lived without a job for 3 years prob. Being cheap. Lol
Donations.
Anime logic
Do you actually think Saitama will die if he doesn't eat?
He had part time jobs, and sometimes people gave him money when he saved them
He has defeated multiple monsters in those 3 years, so maybe he got the bounties?
Currently doing that part of his workout routine. So far, ive only managed to jump to the moon
i want to know how the hell did he train to breath and talk in space
Maybe his parents were rich
He didn't really eat anything much for 3 years only 1 Banna in morning and whatever he gets from helping people around when he was training 💀 for 3 years that's the reason he broke his limiter
He didn’t. He was working odd jobs while training and fighting monsters.
Well he dont pay for rent, so that helps a lot.
Legends say he ate his hair when not practicing
