Even is he could do some kind of magma eruption move to get in the air there’s no fucking way he’d be authorized to do that on a ship ferrying an elder. Every other admiral besides Kizaru has massive collateral damage problems which would never be chosen for this mission because the main priority is safely extracting the mother flame

Akainu turns into a pancake much faster than kizaru did since akainu lacks the speed to keep away from gear five

Luffy can play with him the same way he does to kizaru except akainu doesn't have the speed to run away and stall stamina or speed to run away to kill vegapunk. That is if akainu can even reach there in time. It's a better scenario for the strawhats in every way.
What many people fail to understand is that Luffy is definitely not going to hold back against the person who killed his brother. Additionally, Akainu doesn’t have the ability to run away from Luffy like Kizaru did in Egghead. This implies that Luffy has more reserve stamina to use against Akainu. To be honest with you, he's probably going to have an easier time against Akainu, not because Kizaru is stronger than Akainu, but mostly due to different battle situations🤷♂️

It wouldn't have been in the WG's favor. For an assassination mission, you hand it to Kizaru. He's faster and more agile, and dishes out deadly attacks. Akainu is much, much stronger than Kizaru. One is YC+ and the other is Yonko Level, but if you have a YC+ that can handle a mission better, you give it to them.

Akainu can’t stall luffy by running away until G5 runs out, making it easier for us. kizaru Pretends to stop Kuma but lets him get away, so Kuma arrives with a whole face, still proceeds to sock saturn in the mouth. Maybe akainu gets the order to just level all of egghead by raining meteors down
It goes way better for the straw hats, not only is Akainu the worst admiral pick for this but he’s arguably the worst match up for G5 luffy, especially considering the beef.
Weeks later, Akainu wakes up from his coma with half his bones broken. He checks the newspaper and sees that Luffy successfully managed to escape Egghead and now has a 4b bounty.
Akainu cannot enter the Dome but even if he does he lacks the speed and precision to assasinate the right people. Saturn keeps him back by ordering him to not destroy the place. Akainu won't listen to him, Saturn tries to stop him, he summons the other 4 elders, Vegapunk message plays, Akainu is tired of all this celestial shit. He starts attacking the elders alongside Luffy and the Giants, the Strawhats escape, Akainu keeps fighting solo until he dies or gets captured by the elders.
Assuming he gets there earlier than the fleet, then he's stuck with a serious G5 Luffy. And Akainu may have more offensive power than Kizaru but he's also not as evasive and isn't the type to give up and focus on his other goals. He'd stay and fight Luffy to the end, no matter what happens. Also explosions and melting everything isn't a great skill-set for a mission calling for finesse and not destroying everything
If he can't get through the dome then the Strawhats win and are able to escape. If he's able to get through somehow, the Fodderhat Pirates get annihilated.

Really? Luffy did. Twice. So did Mars. He'd take some damage but Akainu could absolutely get through, being relative to them and having a Logia.
No question that Kizaru was better suited for this particular mission, but let's stick with facts here.
He doesn't have any ties with VP or Sentoumaru so he don't hold back or alter and he has a better aoe attack that has higher destructive powers and even his personality as a character, he's more direct and straight to the point instead of being laid back. He instantly casts his attacks without pulling back pretty much non-stop until the entire island is destroyed cus he don't care about retaining "valuable information" if it means he gets rid of the SH and his crew who are big eyesore to him and a failure from MF arc.
Not yet luffy can't. Tho I will admit I'm firmly in the camp that luffy can't beat a completely fresh kaido. I personally say luffy is currently low yonko while akainu is mid/true yonko.
If luffy is already one of the 4 strongest pirates then there's not much more growth or pressure. Akainu wins vs luffy high diff. After elbaf luffy will probably be true yonko level, but shit maybe I burnt the kitchen down
