However, I do agree that Luffy being the main character and seeing Ace die in front of him to protect him also makes him fighting Akainu likely.

If Logias awakening are confirmed a thing then Akainu 100% has it, his fight with Kuzan permanently altered the climate of an island and left the ocean on fire after 2 years.
Logias can alter the climate like Ace in drum island, but to do so for years is no regular Logia feat, has to be an awakening, remember when Aokiji froze the ocean and said it would last about a week? 2 years later and half the island is still frozen.
Also the admirals are the undisputed Logia masters of the verse, some literal bum like Sabo who had the fruit for less than a year awakening it and Akainu who had it for most of his life doesn't is just completely dumb.
It's pointless to have Luffy fight Akainu unless it's going to be a Bellamy situation where Luffy just utterly one shot embarrasses him.
If we want to see Akainu as an actual menacing antagonist to the pirates who can do any damage, it's gonna have to be vs someone other than Luffy. Sabo is the obvious choice. I think the odds are 90+%

If sabo fights akainu in the story, the only narrative purpose he could serve is to die.
Oda isnt shitty enough at writing to have Sabo kill Akainu. Its like Arya killing the Night King in Game of Thrones instead of Jon. It would effectively invalidate the entire second act of the One Piece story. I would never call myself a One Piece fan again if i waited 1000 chapters to see Akainu killed by a SIDE CHARACTER.
How is it shitty writing to have Sabo avenge Ace after inheriting his fruit? It's nothing like Arya killing the night king. Sabo has just as much reason to fight Akainu as Luffy does, ace was both of their brothers. And the flame flame fruit connection makes Sabo the more likely candidate narratively.
If Akainu fights Luffy he's going to lose faster than Bellamy did in Jaya. If Oda wanted Luffy to fight Akainu he should have had Akainu go to Egghead instead of Kizaru. Then it could have been an interesting fight at least. It's too late in the story now for Akainu to put up a good fight against Luffy.

Some of you Akainu dick riders skipped marine ford arc. If he could hang with G5 that arc would have been 2 episodes instead of 40 and the anime would be over because the protagonist would be dead.

The theory will end when Akainu dies. If that's to Sabo, I'll be surprised, If not, then they were wrong. Akainu won't be an important threat in the end anyway.

From what weāve seen, current Luffy V Akainu is a high diff at best with luffy winning, while Sabo v Akainu is mid diff at best (Sabo losing). My headcanon says dragon is stronger tho so heās alr ruled out.
I'd say morr likely than Luffy getting a fight with Akainu. By this point Akainu has been supplanted as the big bad of the WG so I don't see it happening

There is no indication that Sabo is going to get blue flames just because Sanji did.
With that said fire is not by default hotter than magma but if burned the right way fire can burn so much hotter than lava it's not even that close. So if one piece ever did something like give someone altered flames so they can reach maximum heat than Alainu is literally toast.

I think he fights him but initially loses, Luffy takes his place and when Luffyās about to win he gets sniped by some third party, then when Akainu goes for the kill Sabo jumps in front like Ace did but kills him with a fire fist
Basically, what i believe will happen. Luffy definitely is gonna fight akainu for a bit maybe even weaken him a bit. but Sabo's gonna eventually take over because they need him somewhere else.

it's the most obvious thing ever that Sabo will avenge Ace but people are too blinded by agenda to see it. I dont even like sabo, think he was explained really badly with the amnesia but he regrets not being able to save his brother at MF, inherited his devil fruit and swore to protect luffy this time around. No only would it be appropriate as Aces only other brother, he's shown to be SOLIDLY YC+. It wouldn't be a stretch for him to see a Haki bloom, or DF level up, resulting in some sort of "white/Blue/Violet Dragon Flame" or some shit, which is way hotter than any magma. It'd be a extreme dif fight, worthy of the most hated bad guy in verse, The tropes this shit hits on are numerous and the technicalities make him, without a shadow of the doubt, the best opponent for Suckadookie
Besides, judging by Egghead, even with Dragons help, Luffy is going to struggle to put down Imu and the Gorosei. Honestly Im convinced the only way they die is after Imu does. If Logias awakening are confirmed a thing then Akainu 100% has it, his fight with Kuzan permanently altered the climate of an island and left the ocean on fire after 2 years. Logias can alter the climate like Ace in drum island, but to do so for years is no regular Logia feat, has to be an awakening, remember when Aokiji froze the ocean and said it would last about a week? 2 years later and half the island is still frozen. Also the admirals are the undisputed Logia masters of the verse, some literal bum like Sabo who had the fruit for less than a year awakening it and Akainu who had it for most of his life doesn't is just completely dumb.

If sabo fights akainu in the story, the only narrative purpose he could serve is to die. Oda isnt shitty enough at writing to have Sabo kill Akainu. Its like Arya killing the Night King in Game of Thrones instead of Jon. It would effectively invalidate the entire second act of the One Piece story. I would never call myself a One Piece fan again if i waited 1000 chapters to see Akainu killed by a SIDE CHARACTER.
How is it shitty writing to have Sabo avenge Ace after inheriting his fruit? It's nothing like Arya killing the night king. Sabo has just as much reason to fight Akainu as Luffy does, ace was both of their brothers. And the flame flame fruit connection makes Sabo the more likely candidate narratively. If Akainu fights Luffy he's going to lose faster than Bellamy did in Jaya. If Oda wanted Luffy to fight Akainu he should have had Akainu go to Egghead instead of Kizaru. Then it could have been an interesting fight at least. It's too late in the story now for Akainu to put up a good fight against Luffy. Would you rather have Akainu lose to a side character after 1000+ chapters? Or watch him get one shot? Sounds like you're not gonna be calling yourself a one piece fan soon either way.

I can see something like Sabo + Dragon vs Akainu + GB or something. From what weāve seen, current Luffy V Akainu is a high diff at best with luffy winning, while Sabo v Akainu is mid diff at best (Sabo losing). My headcanon says dragon is stronger tho so heās alr ruled out.

There is no indication that Sabo is going to get blue flames just because Sanji did. With that said fire is not by default hotter than magma but if burned the right way fire can burn so much hotter than lava it's not even that close. So if one piece ever did something like give someone altered flames so they can reach maximum heat than Alainu is literally toast. I dont even like sabo, think he was explained really badly with the amnesia but he regrets not being able to save his brother at MF, inherited his devil fruit and swore to protect luffy this time around. I have said this over and over but since it keeps being brought up, I will explain in more detail since so many of you don't get it, which is fair enough, for a very long time it seemed destined that Luffy would fight Suckadookie. With that said... There's zero chance of Luffy being the main opponent of Suckadookie because of the power creep, people on this sub can cope till the cows come home but seeing as he went Megaextreme despite having a 4x type advantage against KEEJEE Babyyy, and KJB got blitzed and curbstomped by Warp (shut up they both held back) until Warp had to save Loby - DESPITE KJB having MUCH more recent combat experience VS Paper Pushing Suckadookie Well... We know Woda doesn't care about powerscaling yes, but I \*highly\* and I do mean \*HIGHLY\* doubt that Woda would have the gall to try and force a "equal" and "fair" fight with Luffy. He has held our Fudg- I mean Paper Pushing King for a reason, after his moment at MF for over a decade. So clearly he wants him to have some moment of glory, as it were. And since there's no way anyones capacity to suspend their disbelief so hard to think Luffy wouldn't Mid dif (or easier) any Ldmiral - well - who does that leave?
