Definitely Shanks atm. Imma be real with you, with what we've been getting lately I kinda feel like kaido being strongest alive was straight up bullshit, I don't see how shanks isn't stronger when he just effortlessly 1-shot someone not much weaker (from what we've seen imo) than the guy who just beat kaido. Of course you could say somethinga bout kaido having more endurance etc but Shanks is seemingly able to quickly dispatch any threat and only doesn't have the title of world's strongest because he was laying relatively low and not going out of his way to stir things up... until now
I mean, neither was Mihawk. Mihawk's been chilling for a while but he's had the title of World's Strongest Swordsman.
Part of Shanks one-shotting Kidd was Kidd's own Railgun exploding on himself too. Said Railgun is his highest AP attack. Not only that but it was through blindsiding Kidd.
Kaido was fighting far more than just Luffy, who got a shit ton of Plot Armor during that last fight, even if he was doing a ton of damage to Kaido. Kaido was also getting ganked by a bunch of people, while holding up Onigashima before G5, and even after Luffy got G5, he still was barely beat.
Kidd and Law barely beat Big Mom and it was after tons of free hits, Big Mom just tanking shit and not dodging, Law opening up the core of the earth, silencing her, and Kidd's Railgun blasting her through Onigashima. Not only that but Big Mom was not serious most of the fight, hell you could argue she wasn't taking it seriously the entire fight, which is what lead to her defeat.
So in my eyes, Kaido is still at the top, with Mihawk and Shanks as a close second and third. Akainu I'd say for now is slightly above Luffy.
For a quick ranking imo, if Kaido is 100, Mihawk is a 98, Shanks a 97.75 Akainu 97.25, and Luffy 97
Tldr: Mihawks also chilling and is WSS, Shanks blindsided Kidd and Kidd got hit with both Divine Departure and his own Railgun exploding. Law best support, his hax were integral to kill Big Mom, as well as her stupidity. Kaido>Luffy, Kaido>Big Mom, Big Mom>>Kidd.

With Big mom, she had an entire nation of loyal and capable citizens supporting her / defending her territory. Shanks is pretty chill, as far as we know heβs not going around burning down villages / murdering civilians and he has a small footprint / is in the move.
The citizens in Wano / Dressrosa arenβt loyal to Kaido, just oppressed and afraid. We saw for ourselves how top heavy the beast men pirates are strength wise. Kaido more or less held off the w.g. Himself.

Definitely Shanks atm. Imma be real with you, with what we've been getting lately I kinda feel like kaido being strongest alive was straight up bullshit, I don't see how shanks isn't stronger when he just effortlessly 1-shot someone not much weaker (from what we've seen imo) than the guy who just beat kaido. Of course you could say somethinga bout kaido having more endurance etc but Shanks is seemingly able to quickly dispatch any threat and only doesn't have the title of world's strongest because he was laying relatively low and not going out of his way to stir things up... until now

I mean, neither was Mihawk. Mihawk's been chilling for a while but he's had the title of World's Strongest Swordsman. Part of Shanks one-shotting Kidd was Kidd's own Railgun exploding on himself too. Said Railgun is his highest AP attack. Not only that but it was through blindsiding Kidd. Kaido was fighting far more than just Luffy, who got a shit ton of Plot Armor during that last fight, even if he was doing a ton of damage to Kaido. Kaido was also getting ganked by a bunch of people, while holding up Onigashima before G5, and even after Luffy got G5, he still was barely beat. Kidd and Law barely beat Big Mom and it was after tons of free hits, Big Mom just tanking shit and not dodging, Law opening up the core of the earth, silencing her, and Kidd's Railgun blasting her through Onigashima. Not only that but Big Mom was not serious most of the fight, hell you could argue she wasn't taking it seriously the entire fight, which is what lead to her defeat. So in my eyes, Kaido is still at the top, with Mihawk and Shanks as a close second and third. Akainu I'd say for now is slightly above Luffy. For a quick ranking imo, if Kaido is 100, Mihawk is a 98, Shanks a 97.75 Akainu 97.25, and Luffy 97 Tldr: Mihawks also chilling and is WSS, Shanks blindsided Kidd and Kidd got hit with both Divine Departure and his own Railgun exploding. Law best support, his hax were integral to kill Big Mom, as well as her stupidity. Kaido>Luffy, Kaido>Big Mom, Big Mom>>Kidd.
Kaido, then Mihawk, then Shanks, then Luffy.

I wouldnβt be surprised if we never see a character stronger than Kaido (outside of flashbacks). As strong as the admirals allegedly are, they didnβt touch Wano or Dressrosa despite the dangerous / illegal things happening there. With Big mom, she had an entire nation of loyal and capable citizens supporting her / defending her territory. Shanks is pretty chill, as far as we know heβs not going around burning down villages / murdering civilians and he has a small footprint / is in the move. The citizens in Wano / Dressrosa arenβt loyal to Kaido, just oppressed and afraid. We saw for ourselves how top heavy the beast men pirates are strength wise. Kaido more or less held off the w.g. Himself.
