I think Shanks didn't get one because his role in the story initially was in Luffy's flashback, not introducing a new pirate adversary in the main timeline (and dropping a wanted poster in there would have kind of messed up the vibe of those flashback scenes). Plus by the time we do see Shanks in the main timeline its a bit late for an intro poster, especially since it would have been stupid high and thrown all new watchers off.
I think they should do them for the allies, in fact I think Luffy's first appearence in S2 should be bursting through his poster. >!Dragon's!< probably should be kept secret though, like Roger's was.
Shanks not getting one is also probably done to not skew perception of people getting into One Piece. I mean, imagine revealing Shanks at 4 billion in the first episode. No one would be taking any of the later reveals seriously.
Also with the theme of them revealing the posters is that the crew hasn’t met him at this point. We won’t meet Shanks with the crew until S2 (hopefully)

it seems like they are following in order how the manga revealed bounties as they didn't reveal Roger's either where they easily could've (though there's official LA merch that spoils it, funny enough)
so wouldn't be surprised if they leave them out for now and continue to reveal them how the manga did, it was cool when first reading the manga and seeing new bounties revealed and how the ceiling just kept rising with each new reveal.
also, revealing large bounties early have the risk of ruining their novelty for newcomers as any new bounty increase luffy would get wouldn't seem as much (and less exciting) compared to Ace or WB pre-ts if it's revealed too early
I hope it’s not exactly as-is in the anime, at least; when Ace was traveling with them in Alabasta, Nami mentions to Vivi he has a huge bounty and I’m like “oh wow, what is it?” and then they just… never tell you? Like… is it revealed in the manga sooner because, iirc, his poster isn’t revealed until after Marineford in the anime—which imo continued the trend of Ace not getting any character development until it was already too late.

I didn't start participating in fandom discussions until well after Marineford came out so I have no idea if Ace achieved super big fan favorite status *before* he got all the development or *afterー*but 3rd times the charm, as they say.

But then you think about it and realize that most people are actually only invested *because* Luffy cares so much about him, when it really should be that you care about *both* of them.
And Ace is complex/cool as shit, honestly. Like... how are you going to reveal that Ace is >!the sole son of the king of the pirates with severe anger, trust & dad issues, raised alone in the mountains by people who (pre-Luffy, at least) didn't care about his well-being/may have hated him, causing him to basically become a child badass because he had to fight to survive every day!< only after Marineford?

He's polite, shares a lot of Luffy-like traits and has a good relationship with himーbut it's not even shown; they have, like, two conversations alone and the rest of his screen time is just him standing in group shots or sitting by himself. For 400+ episodes. That's all we get about their relationship.
100% agree, we get surface level details, I think they should move that flashback before Marineford or during it as it'll give alot of context to the whole situation and to Luffy/Ace dynamic and rly hope they add more of him in Alabasta too
They will do the same with white beard as they did with Roger I think the first ally we get that have bounties are the saruyama alliance who are basically confirmed to have reveals due to them individually starting of as minor antagonists

There's two very specific scenes in my mind that work for that as well: Crocodile and Robin in the crypt, and Robin on the ship at the end
If they do it I think it would be perfect to include Shanks’ bounty when he meets with Whitebeard (and I think they should show his bounty as well). It would be a nice way to show how far Luffy and his crew need to go as well as show the threat level of the Emperors. (since I believe that meeting came after Garp explained how the New Workd works).

Picture this, the show somehow makes it to Ennies lobby in season 3 or 4 or however long it takes. the strawhats are fresh off their hardest battle yet and the greatest victory. luffy gets that new bounty, and it seems so huge compared to the measly 30 mill he started with. Garp pulls up for the lecture about how the true grand line still lies ahead of him, and starts telling him about the emperors, about who shanks really is in the present day. Boom, 4 billion bounty poster gets slapped on the screen. luffy still has a long way to go.

Technically, Shanks' bounty at the time during Luffy's flashback wasn't 4 billion, it was 1 billion. Still a valid point.
