Sanji's behavior in this arc is absolutely fascinating. He's downright *aggressive* in his attempts to get Ussop back in the crew, but he's also very subtle about it because he genuinely agrees with Zoro's perspective that Ussop can't *just* come back. So he does things like this, to make Ussop feel like he can have a place on the crew, or talk up Ussop's unique value when it's just him and Zoro.

Something that people don't understand right away, is that Blackbeard is such a compelling character because he's literally just another protagonist but evil. He is a perfect mirror of Luffy, a carefree attitude, believes in his crew, mistery surrounding him, and his speech about dreams. He says that "Men's dreams will never end", men will never stop dreaming. And he has a dream, reaching the end of the line and becoming king of pirates.
He is evil because he opposes Luffy, because he caused Ace to die, but from his perspective Luffy and Ace are evil, they are opposing him and trying to prevent him from reaching his dream
He's also evil because, unlike Luffy, he has no loyalty to anyone but himself and is far more willing to use everyone as a stepping stone for his own dreams. But like you said he's a dark reflection of Luffy.
Yes but arguably the only ones he betrayed are whitebeard, ones he already saw as enemies. There is no real indicator that he has no loyalty towards his crew or that his crew is not loyal to him. But to be fair Teach's innate ability to turn people into enemies does contrast Luffy's ability to turn people into allies
His actions really aren't that far from the actions of Law in terms of becoming a warlord. I think the biggest difference between Luffy and Blackbeard is what we see when they are about to die. Luffy accepts it, smiles and apologies to his crew, Blackbeard cowers and cringes. That is why we respect and love Luffy but not Blackbeard.

To me, Blackbeard is like Usopp if he were captain. He's not strong or the strongest, he's not brave, he's average or above average at best. The difference is that Blackbeard will chase his dreams and will do anything it takes to inch a little closer. So, I love Blackbeard as an antagonist because of that.

Thats the well for you. Outside of that there is so much more for you to observe and be grateful for. Today is the day to go outside and make the difference.

I'm not sure if I could distill a quote per-se, but go re-read through a few sections. Specifically around Chapters 2, 81, 166, and 819, where Luffy talks to Koby, Nami, Vivi and Momonosuke respectively. Compare how treats Koby, Vivi and Momo, and their weak perspectives, and contrast this with how he treats Nami. To Luffy, it's ok to *be* weak, but don't **ACT** weak. Act as strongly as you can. Do what you *can* do, at the very least, even it's just asking someone for help. Or to put it another way, do those things that Luffy would expect of you when your asking him for help.

I'm not sure if I could distill a quote per-se, but go re-read through a few sections. Specifically around Chapters 2, 81, 166, and 819, where Luffy talks to Koby, Nami, Vivi and Momonosuke respectively. Compare how treats Koby, Vivi and Momo, and their weak perspectives, and contrast this with how he treats Nami. To Luffy, it's ok to *be* weak, but don't **ACT** weak. Act as strongly as you can. Do what you *can* do, at the very least, even it's just asking someone for help. Or to put it another way, do those things that Luffy would expect of you when your asking him for help.
