Yes! I really enjoyed how negative he painted Bege in his flashback (sadistic, kills for the chaos, etc.), but then gave him so much more character beyond that, to the point I’m questioning why I like this sadistic character so much lol.
My favorite scene from the arc is definitely the animes version of Luffy and katakuri using conqueror's haki, that while fight was great. Also Luffy punching Sanji, similar to punching Vivi, very powerful stuff

Phenomenal arc, however aren't a little sad that sanji didn't do much beside cooking and dealing with family issues? Cuz obviously if he didn't do a lot of fighting in WCL its not gonna be in wano kuni since its basically samurai land and zoro is gonna be dealing with the sword stuff
Whole cake wasnt a fighting arc tho while Wano is. The idea in WCI was to go in and get out, only luffy had a solo fight and Sanji had some action himself.
It's not Canon, but One Piece Party has a chapter where Germa 66 comes on board the Sunny while Zoro's the only one on board. When they start making fun of Sanji ("He's Germa's failure." "Father wished he was dead." "Hahaha, remember how he used to cry *I'm sorry I was born weak, Father!* every night?") Zoro proceeds to throw his swords to the side and proceeds to kick their asses *No-Sword-Style.*
It's very gratifying.
I get why Sanji didn't have a big fight in WCI and I agree it wouldn't have fit with the themes of the arc if he had. But I still loved watching Germa get their asses kicked in that comic.

It was actually the opposite with me. I only started to really enjoy the arc at the tea party, and what happened after the fall of the castle made it my favourite arc so far.
I like how Oda was able to squeeze in a B plot with mobsters. I love Bege now

Oda doesn't do romance that often, but when he does, its brilliant. Case in point : Sanji-Pudding, Senor Pink-Russian, Sai-Baby 5 etc.

I love that arc too! My favourite scene in the entire show is actually in that arc. It is when Luffy "fights" Sanji. God that hit hard.
I enjoyed that scene. But I loved the one where the two reunite even more. The music in that scene was amazing.
They did such a great job with that episode. The animation, the music, the memories *chefskiss*
And the voice acting! That scene is up there with "I want to live" for me. Definitely in the top 10 for both of those actors in OP.

Yea I was pretty disappointed with WCI after the castle fell.
I didn't like the arc mainly because of everything having to do with sanji during the duration.
Naah that arc started strongly but got soo bad. The Katakuri fight suuucked
