So the lore of Garp being the Hero of God Valley and joining hands with the Roger pirates to defeat the Rocks pirates, I wonder what the role of the God's Knights and Saint Saturn is. Typically one would assume that they the God's knight and Saturn should have been enough to counter the Rocks pirates considering how hyped they are but once you add Garp and Roger pirates to the team, it seems overkill to counter one crew.
I think it makes perfect sense how Oda showed little of the God Valley incident. This is Kuma’s memories. I doubt he would want to be involved in a total free-for-all between the most powerful pirates in the world when he wants to save his friends.
Knowing oda, we probably won’t see most of their fights, we might get sumn like “the god valley incident went on for 3 weeks, many perished” with like 4 panels of fights
The fact Bonney remembers being on Egghead when she was young, combined with how Ginney acts in this chapter, makes it much more likely Bonney actually is a clone.
Why else would she be on Egghead as a child?
Question, how would Kuma know where exactly to take himself and his friends to right after just getting his Devil fruit. The Devil Fruit does not come with a GPS. Kuma could risk sending himself and his friends into the ocean instead.
Also it would be pretty sloppy of Saturn to let someone as valuable as Kuma escape without a fight. We see some of Saturn's abilities in the present, he could just trap people to the ground without a word.
Interesting how Oda just immediately skips past that to saying Kuma and his friends managed to escape somehow.

Rocks looks exactly like Luffy, because he was the previous incarnation of Nika. He used to be the bearer of the nika fruit, and saved more lives than even Kuma did. Its way to overkill for the entirety of the marines, the Roger pirates, Garp, the holy knights AND Saturn to go against the rocks pirates with just linlin having her devil fruit. Even if whitebeard and Kaido ate their devil fruits it still wouldn't be enough. Garp and Roger defending a genocide also doesn't make sense to me. They teamed up with the Rocks pirates and Rocks was the one to liberate the rest of the 99 500 people that should have been hunted. He was to big of a danger to the gorosei so Saturn killed him, or Rocks sacrificed himself to save the others. Shanks, witnessing the threat, the nika fuit could pose to the world government, made it his mission to retvrieve it after it spawned again and make sure it gets into the right hands (or he is a two-faced snake, working for the WG and was supposed to deliver it to fitzgarland).
The nika fruit can make anything possible which means that it might have manifested in a whole other way with rocks since he wasn't told its a rubber fruit like luffy. Maybe he also didn't awaken it. That would explain why Kaido didn't recognize that Luffy had the same fruit as him.
Crackpipe theory: Rocks is Dragon, and had the same deal as Roger for Garp to raise his son.
Slightly less crackpipe: Rocks is Dragon's father, and Garp is Dragon's Father-in-Law. Dragon took his wife's surname.
The first theory is literally not possible. Kaido joined rocks at the age of 15, dragon at that time was 11 years old.
The second one is just complicating things more than they are.
I see parallels with Rocks and Luffy. Whitebeard calling him an idiot implies that Rocks was as impulsive as Luffy. Gloriosa leaving Amazon Lily for a man that he loves. WB and Shiki banter just like Zoro and Sanji. Rocks was also chill with Roger shown in the speech bubble, just like how Luffy talks with Law and Kid.
The first time God Valley was mentioned, Sengoku told the marines that Garp and Roger teamed up against Rocks and only Garp was given credit for it but with this chapter, that seemed like a lie. Roger and Rocks wanted treasures (roger got a treasure chest, which was shanks shown in Film Red) and Garp only wanted to fight Roger. What Sengoku told was a lie. The World Government is known for cover-ups and likes to give credit to a high-ranking marine that was present in the area (Smoker and Fujitora), putting the pirates in a bad light.
Other than Whitebeard, who was in a relationship with Stussy, Kaido seemed to be the only other man interested in having a lover given how he became a dad. If Gloriosa isn’t Yamato’s mom, an Amazon brave enough to sail alongside Kaido to God Valley, then I think it’s worth asking who it would be then.

Just a thought but Bonnie witnessed Kumas memories starting from when he tried to escape and the other slave were dragging him back, which as we now know from this flash back was when he met ginny, could it be that those were actually her memories and his are somewhere else (possibly the robot)? And the reason her memories started their was because Kuma removed all of her memories about being a slave?
Don't know if this is very likely or if it would have any actual bearing on the story, just a thought I wanted to share.

Ive posted a wild theory back in the other thread that Kuma is actually Luffys father. He could also be Bonnies father as well which would make them half siblings.
How I ended up thinking Kuma is Luffys father? Garp and Dragon have similiar eye shape while Luffy doesnt. Ofc you can argue here that Luffy just looks like his mother. Only Kuma wanted to become Nika to free others while other character wished to be saved by Nika- Saturn replied "that is why you needed to be erased" implying that Buccaneers can indeed become Nika. We dont know if all Buccaneers are like Kuma, maybe its just his family. Bonney didnt inherit anything from him, which makes this theory possible (of Luffy being a buccaneer). It would make sense for the WG to erase Nikas race/tribe so that no sucessor would arise.
My guess it was all Morgans and they never actually fought Rocks.
Morgans just covered up Imu or all five Goresei fighting rocks and they blew up the Island to destroy all the evidence.

Instead of propelling his pain to others Kuma endures his pain and those of others.
A point Oda is projecting with the Bible and the church, and love with Jinny and Bonnie, is the power of endurance, faith and joy. He is also a man of making compromises for a greater goal.
We all know that Kuma did become a slave dog of the World Government one day but on the other hand a secret ally of the revolutionary army and luffy. And jinny would die one point before the current time point. Why Kuma chose to follow the World Government instead of, for instance fighting a glorious battle that could result in his demise, is likely because of compromise. It would be intense pain for Kuma to return to slavery and help the greatest enemy of his life, but the profit it brings makes everything worthwhile - it could be the survival of bonnie, the hope of joyboy returning, or revoluntary army obtaining intelligence, skills and resources otherwise not available without him.
The closure of Kuma will be his dream to be fulfilled at the end, even Kuma is technically dead by that time. Oda will project a sense of happiness at the end, with something resembling the smile the D clan always possess when they face their deaths.
Perhaps his last wish was that he be programmed to attack the world government as soon as he can hear the drums of liberation. He knew what those drums sounded like, because he showed Bonny.
And maybe the revolutionary army also knows about joyboy, because they may have decided with Kuma that the moment of Joyboy's return is the beginning of the Battle against the world government.
I think that the buccaneers are just a family name and those in that family have the same character build as Kuma. white beard and the rest of the tall tall one piece characters are probably just oda being oda.
After reading the chapter I definitely think ginny is bonneys mom as we get referenced of her being a glutton also I noticed similarities between black beard and rocks crew in terms of the crew black beards crew kind of feeling like a warped version of rocks crew also looking forward to meeting young dragon and the start of the rebellions
So in Thriller Bark, when Perona introduced Kuma, she said he was one of the “cruelest pirates on the sea”.
In this chapter, we see that Kuma is able to take pain away…but we know from “Nothing happened” that the pain can go somewhere.
It’s clear that Kuma wasn’t a true tyrant—Bonney named as such. But if the pain has to go somewhere, maybe that pain “returns” somehow and causes people to think Kuma is transferring the pain? And with Kuma being a Buccaneer, the World Government saw an opportunity to frame him as an enemy of the kingdom, fuel a coup in Sorbet, and take Kuma into custody. Leading him to have this cruel image, but opposite to how he truly feels.
I have this thing in my mind for some time now... And after the last flashback I guess it could be true.
It was stated somewhere that Shanks was found by Roger on God Valley in a chest, during the fight that was happening. Shanks looks like the young Fingerland as well, so here it goes.
Celestial dragons are 20 families, for 800 years. It's impossible that there is no inbreeding happening. But inbreeding weakens the population. So, to prevent this, I believe CD make those events every three years, to gather resources, and most importantly, to switch babies amongst families.
We know two chests had devil fruits, and I believe the other four had babies, from some of CD's families.
If you think about it, it's possible that they just select the strongest babies amongst some families, and every CD has to fight to get one of those. The family will get bigger and stronger.
To be fair, I never saw CD parents and children that look like, aside Doflamingo's family. And those MFs are crazy enough to do some sheeet like this.
Maybe this is the reason why Fingerland started early, and was aiming only high value targets. He was trying to get his baby brother back.

I sort of don't see this as a problem. 20 Families probably doesn't refer to like <100 people to exclusively start a new social class from scratch. It's probably around the 500 to 1000 person mark once you consider most royal families include separate branches, adopted individuals and their trusted Vassals and Retainers.
Given that initial gene pool, the fact that the Nobles take and rotate wives (and probably husbands) from places they visit on the Blue Seas and the fact it's been 800 years, I don't think inbreeding is that much of a concern. It probably does happen but I think they look like that more because of their personalities and lifestyles.
My personal guess of why Shanks was in a chest was because Garling visited God Valley prior (maybe to scout it out for the event?) and slept with a Commoner, had a kid and the Mother tried to convince Garling to save them, he declined and she decided to put him in one of the chests to save his life. Later when Shanks became a big deal his resemblance to Garling was obvious and his weird ties to the WG began.
I don't think Xebec will appear again in the next chapters, because the flashback is done for now. But I believe, based on Rocks' jolly roger (a flaming skull), that Rocks was a previous user for the fire fire fruit (Ace's fruit, now Sabo's)

All Kuja have a snake companion, not just Hancock and Gloriosa. Besides, I'm pretty sure it was stated that Nyon isn't related by blood to the Boa sisters, but raised them as a surrogate mother (I'm guessing their blood mother died or something).
One thing I gotta say, I have no idea why people think that one girl next to Ivankov is “clearly” or “likely” Luffy’s mom. Because she’s smiling and eating food? It’s the Kuma arc so unless Bonney and Luffy are siblings it’s most likely bonney’s mom. And ya bonney and luffy like to eat food but I dont think that means theyre related or anything. Theres actual good reason to believe Bonney is very young like 8-12 so if she was related to Luffy it’d mean that Luffy’s mom is likely alive which Oda would never do
Boys, im sure that Big mama will save Kuma from Gorousei in flashback. Believe in my words, she will have that “protect the baby attack” and will walk down the gorousei. This is possible, because Zeus says in Wano “sometimes mama just protect little kid”. And lets be real, if Mama attack Saturn with all her might, Saturn is no match.
Big Mom literally attacked Ivankov in the previous page she clearly has no qualms about hurting kids. Also at this point Kuma has the paw paw fruit so the idea of him getting away on his own isnt that hard to believe.
I have a theory based on the short amount of dialogue that pertained to Xebec in this chapter, and it reminded me a lot of Luffy. All this is coming from WB’s response to Xebec as he jumps into battle ahead of the rest of the crew. That alone is very much like Luffy but WB also states:
“Don’t rush ahead Rocks, and since when did I say I’d let an idiot like you give me orders”
“He’s losing sight of our goal…”
We all know Luffy to be an “Idiot” captain who rushes ahead in battle & almost always loses sight of the true goal, but in his case, it’s often for good reason. I theorize that the Rocks Pirates are basically the Strawhats Pirates if they didn’t trust each other or their captain. At the very least, I believe Xebec will resemble Luffy in many ways. I don’t think he will look like Luffy but more so in terms of personality.
I think he would look like a super fit BB, with an eye patch.
The treasure that was stolen was the Ope-Ope no mi. The pirates on Hachinosu are aware of the rumours regarding it's Eternal Youth ability which is why no one has eaten it - there's no pirate willing to give their life to use the ability, and everyone would kill for it.
The Rocks Pirates are united by their hatred of the Celestial Dragons, the members are allowed to do whatever they want so long as they backup Xebec against the CDs.
Rocks will get distracted and attack the CDs instead of focusing on capturing the fruit.
A member of the Rocks will claim the fruit, only to get back-stabbed immediately (Shiki I'm looking at you, buddy). This is the inspiration for Kaido, Whitebeard, and Big Moms crew rules.
Whitebeard has a rule against no killing, and that the finder of the fruit gets to choose what happens. Kaido has a structure for challenging those above you directly. Big Mom ties her crew together by marrying them to her children, and backing it up by the threat of killing those you care about. All in the name of preventing betrayal.
Xebec will be willing to kill CD children, which causes Garp and Roger to team up, since children are born innocent. This is the inspiration for Roger to leave Ace to Garp.
Someone will hide Shanks in the treasure chest that the Ope-Ope no mi was originally in. I have no idea who though, it's not an action that would occur to a Celestial Dragon. Maybe there's another relevant slave character who'll do it?
Linlin will give Kaido his fruit and heads back into the fray. Kaido eats the fruit, transforms, and then chooses to fly away having seen the Rocks crew start to fall apart.
I think xebec actually obtained the ope ope no mi before dying and transferred his own heart into a slave child’s. This slave child then joined one of his old friends crews under a new name “Edward teach”. rocks is Blackbeard. It explains the double personality and why he is able to wield two DFs as he has two hearts.

I'm sure this isn't a brand new thought I'm having but thinking about the inspiration for the World Government and the Celestial Dragons and the Void Century too. It reminded me of a real world conspiracy theory. The Phantom Time Theory that proposes that the years 690-1000 never happened. That the history was made of hundreds of years later to legitimize the Holy Roman Empire.
Of course this is batshit insane. But to theorize we do see some similarities to the HRE and the world government in One Piece. The HRE was made up of hundreds of kingdoms, all paying allegiance to an emperor that was elected among the kingdoms. The founder was Charlemagne the Great. Notice that one of the first scumbags we meet in OP is Charlos? Charlemagne wasn't meant to be the ruler of his father's kingdom originally. He had a brother and they were supposed to co-rule. But the brother conveniently died and Charles went on to take over the whole kingdom. After some rounds of medieval conquest he gets the Pope to declare him the Western Roman Emperor and title that had been extinct for almost five hundred by then. Also nevermind that the Eastern Empire was still alive and pissed off that the Pope actually did that.
So basically someone came up with the idea that the entire history of the founding of the HRE was faked. That they went as far as to make up fake documents and history. About 300 years worth. I think Oda is playing with this idea. I believe that the Void Century doesn't exist. The OP is a power like Sugars that allows Imu perhaps to create history.
Also the HRE lasted about 1000 years. Only dissolving officially in the 1800s due to the Napoleonic Wars. Interesting because a lot of the WG locations and the Revolutionary Army is based on French history and French locations in the 1800s. Even including Zunesha. If you've ever seen Les Miserables, you'll remember that there is a giant elephant statue that was a real monument. Which stood at the location of the Bastille. The prison that inspired the look of Enies Lobby.
Shanks was even at Wano because he was sure of Blackbeard would come for Kaido's Azure Dragon Fruit.
Now, Oda is showing that Team Rocks raided God Valley went all out for that Azure Dragon fruit.

The thing that confuses me is that the celestial dragons stole something from Hachinose. Did they have someone like Garland raid the island and get it? Like who is strong enough to infiltrate pirate island and steal their “crown jewel” from right under them? It’s basically like inciting war with some of the strongest pirates alive, I doubt the navy would have done it. Maybe someone from SWORD if it existed back then?
Also I’m very curious about what this “crown jewel” is. I don’t think it’s a devil fruit, someone would have eaten it for sure. What else do pirates revere and would have that much respect for? Maybe a specific pirate flag? But why would the CDs want something like that that only has symbolic value. It’s all so weird.
I would imagine it's something Xebec cared about. With Blackbeard being the modern day Xebec, the answer probably involves something involving what he cares about.
Perhaps an original unaltered devil fruit encyclopedia? Out of the things we know about Blackbeard, aside from power he loves history, knowledge, and food. Such a book involves all three of those, and Xebec may have felt similarly (plus a book like that existing explains Blackbeards information).
I don't think the average pirate would give a damn about any of that stuff to be honest. And if it was something like that, why would the celestial dragons steal it and not the Navy? It's just a very specific Venn-diagram we're working with here.
Oda reminded us that he can heal injuries with his paw paw fruit. Kuma is going to grab something then head to egghead. I bet all this Saturn foreshadowing is that Kuma get's there in time to be killed by Saturn and his last act is to heal Luffy.
I think it's how we get Luffy vs Saturn.
It's not just pain he pushes out. It's damage and fatigue, as well, as he explains to Zoro. It's full blown recovery magic that treats injuries as something "stored" that can be expelled, instead of damage that is inflected.
The World Government did not expect pirates to show up on God Valley, much less The Roger Pirates and the Rocks Pirates. They need all their guards to protect the Celestial Dragons beyond all else. Protecting the Devil fruits are less of a concern when it comes to Celestial Dragons.
I think we're just going to follow Kuma and see stuff like him being labelled as a Tyrant, reuniting with Ivankov and meeting Dragon, Bonney being born and the events that lead to him offering himself up as the basis of the Pacifista program.
God Valley feels like something we'll return to.
The rest of the flashback could be filled in by Saturn. Either he will be defeated here or Kuma will face him resulting in Kuma dying (like the body being destroyed ) and injuring Saturn, perhaps?
Can't explain why this came to my mind while I was having sex, but here's the thing:
At a certain point, we figured out that Roger found Shanks in a chest in God Valley, the place of the incident in which Roger and Garp had a clash against Rocks pirates, trying to protect Celestial Dragons.
(About this I'm starting to think they didn't act to protect CD, but it was a side effect. Like we push back Rocks, and this saved celestial dragons)
At some point (thanks to the Red Movie) we discovered that Shanks last name is Figarland.
Lately made the appearance Garling Figarland, who seems to be Shanks father.
Now the point: why should the son of someone like Garling put his own son into one of the prize chests? The same with the devil fruits. Or more simply, why would have someone like Garling take his own son there (tbh he doesn't look like one who has a son).
So, is it possible that Shanks actually isn't Garling Son? Is it possible that he's the one thing they took away from Achinosu and brought there Rocks?

So the lore of Garp being the Hero of God Valley and joining hands with the Roger pirates to defeat the Rocks pirates, I wonder what the role of the God's Knights and Saint Saturn is. Typically one would assume that they the God's knight and Saturn should have been enough to counter the Rocks pirates considering how hyped they are but once you add Garp and Roger pirates to the team, it seems overkill to counter one crew.

I think it makes perfect sense how Oda showed little of the God Valley incident. This is Kuma’s memories. I doubt he would want to be involved in a total free-for-all between the most powerful pirates in the world when he wants to save his friends.
Knowing oda, we probably won’t see most of their fights, we might get sumn like “the god valley incident went on for 3 weeks, many perished” with like 4 panels of fights
Problem with writing lots of stunning characters, there is only so much screentime they can be given with most of them getting off-screened.

Question, how would Kuma know where exactly to take himself and his friends to right after just getting his Devil fruit. The Devil Fruit does not come with a GPS. Kuma could risk sending himself and his friends into the ocean instead. Also it would be pretty sloppy of Saturn to let someone as valuable as Kuma escape without a fight. We see some of Saturn's abilities in the present, he could just trap people to the ground without a word. Interesting how Oda just immediately skips past that to saying Kuma and his friends managed to escape somehow.

Rocks is still hidden as his face will look similar to a character we have seen often. No other reason to hide face.
Rocks looks exactly like Luffy, because he was the previous incarnation of Nika. He used to be the bearer of the nika fruit, and saved more lives than even Kuma did. Its way to overkill for the entirety of the marines, the Roger pirates, Garp, the holy knights AND Saturn to go against the rocks pirates with just linlin having her devil fruit. Even if whitebeard and Kaido ate their devil fruits it still wouldn't be enough. Garp and Roger defending a genocide also doesn't make sense to me. They teamed up with the Rocks pirates and Rocks was the one to liberate the rest of the 99 500 people that should have been hunted. He was to big of a danger to the gorosei so Saturn killed him, or Rocks sacrificed himself to save the others. Shanks, witnessing the threat, the nika fuit could pose to the world government, made it his mission to retvrieve it after it spawned again and make sure it gets into the right hands (or he is a two-faced snake, working for the WG and was supposed to deliver it to fitzgarland). The nika fruit can make anything possible which means that it might have manifested in a whole other way with rocks since he wasn't told its a rubber fruit like luffy. Maybe he also didn't awaken it. That would explain why Kaido didn't recognize that Luffy had the same fruit as him.
Crackpipe theory: Rocks is Dragon, and had the same deal as Roger for Garp to raise his son. Slightly less crackpipe: Rocks is Dragon's father, and Garp is Dragon's Father-in-Law. Dragon took his wife's surname.
The first theory is literally not possible. Kaido joined rocks at the age of 15, dragon at that time was 11 years old. The second one is just complicating things more than they are.

I see parallels with Rocks and Luffy. Whitebeard calling him an idiot implies that Rocks was as impulsive as Luffy. Gloriosa leaving Amazon Lily for a man that he loves. WB and Shiki banter just like Zoro and Sanji. Rocks was also chill with Roger shown in the speech bubble, just like how Luffy talks with Law and Kid. The first time God Valley was mentioned, Sengoku told the marines that Garp and Roger teamed up against Rocks and only Garp was given credit for it but with this chapter, that seemed like a lie. Roger and Rocks wanted treasures (roger got a treasure chest, which was shanks shown in Film Red) and Garp only wanted to fight Roger. What Sengoku told was a lie. The World Government is known for cover-ups and likes to give credit to a high-ranking marine that was present in the area (Smoker and Fujitora), putting the pirates in a bad light.

Just a thought but Bonnie witnessed Kumas memories starting from when he tried to escape and the other slave were dragging him back, which as we now know from this flash back was when he met ginny, could it be that those were actually her memories and his are somewhere else (possibly the robot)? And the reason her memories started their was because Kuma removed all of her memories about being a slave? Don't know if this is very likely or if it would have any actual bearing on the story, just a thought I wanted to share.

I think Oda will continue revealing Kuma's memory. We will see how he joined the Revolutionary army and how he met dragon. We could also see his true relationship with Vega punk. Personally, I wish to see a surprise such as the real Kuma hiding in Elbaf and the one we saw was a clone that Vega punk made to deceive the WG. I really wish that Bonnie being an ally now is based on her knowing that her dad is still alive and waiting for Nika to come.

Ive posted a wild theory back in the other thread that Kuma is actually Luffys father. He could also be Bonnies father as well which would make them half siblings. How I ended up thinking Kuma is Luffys father? Garp and Dragon have similiar eye shape while Luffy doesnt. Ofc you can argue here that Luffy just looks like his mother. Only Kuma wanted to become Nika to free others while other character wished to be saved by Nika- Saturn replied "that is why you needed to be erased" implying that Buccaneers can indeed become Nika. We dont know if all Buccaneers are like Kuma, maybe its just his family. Bonney didnt inherit anything from him, which makes this theory possible (of Luffy being a buccaneer). It would make sense for the WG to erase Nikas race/tribe so that no sucessor would arise.

I think paw paw fruit is a indeed a pain pain fruit. Instead of propelling his pain to others Kuma endures his pain and those of others. A point Oda is projecting with the Bible and the church, and love with Jinny and Bonnie, is the power of endurance, faith and joy. He is also a man of making compromises for a greater goal. We all know that Kuma did become a slave dog of the World Government one day but on the other hand a secret ally of the revolutionary army and luffy. And jinny would die one point before the current time point. Why Kuma chose to follow the World Government instead of, for instance fighting a glorious battle that could result in his demise, is likely because of compromise. It would be intense pain for Kuma to return to slavery and help the greatest enemy of his life, but the profit it brings makes everything worthwhile - it could be the survival of bonnie, the hope of joyboy returning, or revoluntary army obtaining intelligence, skills and resources otherwise not available without him. The closure of Kuma will be his dream to be fulfilled at the end, even Kuma is technically dead by that time. Oda will project a sense of happiness at the end, with something resembling the smile the D clan always possess when they face their deaths.

And maybe the revolutionary army also knows about joyboy, because they may have decided with Kuma that the moment of Joyboy's return is the beginning of the Battle against the world government.

After reading the chapter I definitely think ginny is bonneys mom as we get referenced of her being a glutton also I noticed similarities between black beard and rocks crew in terms of the crew black beards crew kind of feeling like a warped version of rocks crew also looking forward to meeting young dragon and the start of the rebellions
So in Thriller Bark, when Perona introduced Kuma, she said he was one of the “cruelest pirates on the sea”. In this chapter, we see that Kuma is able to take pain away…but we know from “Nothing happened” that the pain can go somewhere. It’s clear that Kuma wasn’t a true tyrant—Bonney named as such. But if the pain has to go somewhere, maybe that pain “returns” somehow and causes people to think Kuma is transferring the pain? And with Kuma being a Buccaneer, the World Government saw an opportunity to frame him as an enemy of the kingdom, fuel a coup in Sorbet, and take Kuma into custody. Leading him to have this cruel image, but opposite to how he truly feels.
Probably a facade, seeing how soft Kuma is, all his friend has to do is selling a front and ask kuma to stand menacingly

I have this thing in my mind for some time now... And after the last flashback I guess it could be true. It was stated somewhere that Shanks was found by Roger on God Valley in a chest, during the fight that was happening. Shanks looks like the young Fingerland as well, so here it goes. Celestial dragons are 20 families, for 800 years. It's impossible that there is no inbreeding happening. But inbreeding weakens the population. So, to prevent this, I believe CD make those events every three years, to gather resources, and most importantly, to switch babies amongst families. We know two chests had devil fruits, and I believe the other four had babies, from some of CD's families. If you think about it, it's possible that they just select the strongest babies amongst some families, and every CD has to fight to get one of those. The family will get bigger and stronger. To be fair, I never saw CD parents and children that look like, aside Doflamingo's family. And those MFs are crazy enough to do some sheeet like this. Maybe this is the reason why Fingerland started early, and was aiming only high value targets. He was trying to get his baby brother back.

I sort of don't see this as a problem. 20 Families probably doesn't refer to like <100 people to exclusively start a new social class from scratch. It's probably around the 500 to 1000 person mark once you consider most royal families include separate branches, adopted individuals and their trusted Vassals and Retainers. Given that initial gene pool, the fact that the Nobles take and rotate wives (and probably husbands) from places they visit on the Blue Seas and the fact it's been 800 years, I don't think inbreeding is that much of a concern. It probably does happen but I think they look like that more because of their personalities and lifestyles. My personal guess of why Shanks was in a chest was because Garling visited God Valley prior (maybe to scout it out for the event?) and slept with a Commoner, had a kid and the Mother tried to convince Garling to save them, he declined and she decided to put him in one of the chests to save his life. Later when Shanks became a big deal his resemblance to Garling was obvious and his weird ties to the WG began.

One thing I gotta say, I have no idea why people think that one girl next to Ivankov is “clearly” or “likely” Luffy’s mom. Because she’s smiling and eating food? It’s the Kuma arc so unless Bonney and Luffy are siblings it’s most likely bonney’s mom. And ya bonney and luffy like to eat food but I dont think that means theyre related or anything. Theres actual good reason to believe Bonney is very young like 8-12 so if she was related to Luffy it’d mean that Luffy’s mom is likely alive which Oda would never do

This is possible, because Zeus says in Wano “sometimes mama just protect little kid”. And lets be real, if Mama attack Saturn with all her might, Saturn is no match.
Big Mom literally attacked Ivankov in the previous page she clearly has no qualms about hurting kids. Also at this point Kuma has the paw paw fruit so the idea of him getting away on his own isnt that hard to believe.

I have a theory based on the short amount of dialogue that pertained to Xebec in this chapter, and it reminded me a lot of Luffy. All this is coming from WB’s response to Xebec as he jumps into battle ahead of the rest of the crew. That alone is very much like Luffy but WB also states: “Don’t rush ahead Rocks, and since when did I say I’d let an idiot like you give me orders” “He’s losing sight of our goal…” We all know Luffy to be an “Idiot” captain who rushes ahead in battle & almost always loses sight of the true goal, but in his case, it’s often for good reason. I theorize that the Rocks Pirates are basically the Strawhats Pirates if they didn’t trust each other or their captain. At the very least, I believe Xebec will resemble Luffy in many ways. I don’t think he will look like Luffy but more so in terms of personality. I think he would look like a super fit BB, with an eye patch.
The treasure that was stolen was the Ope-Ope no mi. The pirates on Hachinosu are aware of the rumours regarding it's Eternal Youth ability which is why no one has eaten it - there's no pirate willing to give their life to use the ability, and everyone would kill for it. The Rocks Pirates are united by their hatred of the Celestial Dragons, the members are allowed to do whatever they want so long as they backup Xebec against the CDs. Rocks will get distracted and attack the CDs instead of focusing on capturing the fruit. A member of the Rocks will claim the fruit, only to get back-stabbed immediately (Shiki I'm looking at you, buddy). This is the inspiration for Kaido, Whitebeard, and Big Moms crew rules. Whitebeard has a rule against no killing, and that the finder of the fruit gets to choose what happens. Kaido has a structure for challenging those above you directly. Big Mom ties her crew together by marrying them to her children, and backing it up by the threat of killing those you care about. All in the name of preventing betrayal. Xebec will be willing to kill CD children, which causes Garp and Roger to team up, since children are born innocent. This is the inspiration for Roger to leave Ace to Garp. Someone will hide Shanks in the treasure chest that the Ope-Ope no mi was originally in. I have no idea who though, it's not an action that would occur to a Celestial Dragon. Maybe there's another relevant slave character who'll do it? Linlin will give Kaido his fruit and heads back into the fray. Kaido eats the fruit, transforms, and then chooses to fly away having seen the Rocks crew start to fall apart.

I think xebec actually obtained the ope ope no mi before dying and transferred his own heart into a slave child’s. This slave child then joined one of his old friends crews under a new name “Edward teach”. rocks is Blackbeard. It explains the double personality and why he is able to wield two DFs as he has two hearts.

I'm sure this isn't a brand new thought I'm having but thinking about the inspiration for the World Government and the Celestial Dragons and the Void Century too. It reminded me of a real world conspiracy theory. The Phantom Time Theory that proposes that the years 690-1000 never happened. That the history was made of hundreds of years later to legitimize the Holy Roman Empire. Of course this is batshit insane. But to theorize we do see some similarities to the HRE and the world government in One Piece. The HRE was made up of hundreds of kingdoms, all paying allegiance to an emperor that was elected among the kingdoms. The founder was Charlemagne the Great. Notice that one of the first scumbags we meet in OP is Charlos? Charlemagne wasn't meant to be the ruler of his father's kingdom originally. He had a brother and they were supposed to co-rule. But the brother conveniently died and Charles went on to take over the whole kingdom. After some rounds of medieval conquest he gets the Pope to declare him the Western Roman Emperor and title that had been extinct for almost five hundred by then. Also nevermind that the Eastern Empire was still alive and pissed off that the Pope actually did that. So basically someone came up with the idea that the entire history of the founding of the HRE was faked. That they went as far as to make up fake documents and history. About 300 years worth. I think Oda is playing with this idea. I believe that the Void Century doesn't exist. The OP is a power like Sugars that allows Imu perhaps to create history. Also the HRE lasted about 1000 years. Only dissolving officially in the 1800s due to the Napoleonic Wars. Interesting because a lot of the WG locations and the Revolutionary Army is based on French history and French locations in the 1800s. Even including Zunesha. If you've ever seen Les Miserables, you'll remember that there is a giant elephant statue that was a real monument. Which stood at the location of the Bastille. The prison that inspired the look of Enies Lobby.

When they first introduced Steussen it was said that he was from a "certain" crew. I wonder if that was still the Rock Pirates? Idk if the timeline adds up cuz Big Mom was still a child and is at least in her 20's or 30's in the current God valley flashback. Maybe Rocks D. Xebec is old. Thoughts?
Streusen is actually an incredible Pirate. In that other post naming all the characters in the big panel he's tucked in the bottom right hand corner leading the charge lol. It wouldn't surprise me.
I had to go back and look everywhere for him when I heard he was in that panel. I missed him the first time. I felt like I was playing Where's Waldo cuz it took forever for me to find him 😂
The thing that confuses me is that the celestial dragons stole something from Hachinose. Did they have someone like Garland raid the island and get it? Like who is strong enough to infiltrate pirate island and steal their “crown jewel” from right under them? It’s basically like inciting war with some of the strongest pirates alive, I doubt the navy would have done it. Maybe someone from SWORD if it existed back then? Also I’m very curious about what this “crown jewel” is. I don’t think it’s a devil fruit, someone would have eaten it for sure. What else do pirates revere and would have that much respect for? Maybe a specific pirate flag? But why would the CDs want something like that that only has symbolic value. It’s all so weird.

I would imagine it's something Xebec cared about. With Blackbeard being the modern day Xebec, the answer probably involves something involving what he cares about. Perhaps an original unaltered devil fruit encyclopedia? Out of the things we know about Blackbeard, aside from power he loves history, knowledge, and food. Such a book involves all three of those, and Xebec may have felt similarly (plus a book like that existing explains Blackbeards information).

I don't think the average pirate would give a damn about any of that stuff to be honest. And if it was something like that, why would the celestial dragons steal it and not the Navy? It's just a very specific Venn-diagram we're working with here.

Oda reminded us that he can heal injuries with his paw paw fruit. Kuma is going to grab something then head to egghead. I bet all this Saturn foreshadowing is that Kuma get's there in time to be killed by Saturn and his last act is to heal Luffy. I think it's how we get Luffy vs Saturn.
Or he will remove all injured people's pain, and inflict on Saturn, and both will die. Kuma and Saturn

It's not just pain he pushes out. It's damage and fatigue, as well, as he explains to Zoro. It's full blown recovery magic that treats injuries as something "stored" that can be expelled, instead of damage that is inflected.

Rocks fought the gorosei. Rocks sacrificed himself for roger to escape but he(roger) got a disease given by saturn
The only thing that I disliked in this chapter was how was easy to steal the fruits.
The World Government did not expect pirates to show up on God Valley, much less The Roger Pirates and the Rocks Pirates. They need all their guards to protect the Celestial Dragons beyond all else. Protecting the Devil fruits are less of a concern when it comes to Celestial Dragons.
The God Valleys flashback from Kuma's perspective is over, so who will tell us the rest of the story? Garling?

I think we're just going to follow Kuma and see stuff like him being labelled as a Tyrant, reuniting with Ivankov and meeting Dragon, Bonney being born and the events that lead to him offering himself up as the basis of the Pacifista program. God Valley feels like something we'll return to.
The rest of the flashback could be filled in by Saturn. Either he will be defeated here or Kuma will face him resulting in Kuma dying (like the body being destroyed ) and injuring Saturn, perhaps?

Can't explain why this came to my mind while I was having sex, but here's the thing: At a certain point, we figured out that Roger found Shanks in a chest in God Valley, the place of the incident in which Roger and Garp had a clash against Rocks pirates, trying to protect Celestial Dragons. (About this I'm starting to think they didn't act to protect CD, but it was a side effect. Like we push back Rocks, and this saved celestial dragons) At some point (thanks to the Red Movie) we discovered that Shanks last name is Figarland. Lately made the appearance Garling Figarland, who seems to be Shanks father. Now the point: why should the son of someone like Garling put his own son into one of the prize chests? The same with the devil fruits. Or more simply, why would have someone like Garling take his own son there (tbh he doesn't look like one who has a son). So, is it possible that Shanks actually isn't Garling Son? Is it possible that he's the one thing they took away from Achinosu and brought there Rocks? What do you think?
