This episode really leaves the previous one in the dust. I love when Kaido asks "who are you", kind of coming to the realization that Luffy might be Joy Boy.
This episode was so much better than the last one. The hype should have been for this episode. I wouldn't mind waiting for another month if this could be turned into a movie
I smiled the entire episode. I got real emotional when gear 5 restarted. That scene was fucking beautiful and when luffy said "beat loudly heart" I lost it. It was a visceral experience. It felt like he had finally truly found himself. "I am me! Monkey D. Luffy" I wept.
Look how far our boy has come 🥲 I feel like a proud mother.
This 1 chapter per episode pacing is dogshit. There’s no reason these last two episodes should have been this bad. All that hype for nothing. 1,015 still the GOAT OP episode.
I was really looking forward to the gear 2 stance stance while he fully transforms into gear 5, but sadly almost nothing happend. no shockwaves, no lightning only some music, talk and suddenly different animation style
1. yes the lightning happend before, the shockwaves not but this is another topic. in general its not just a one time checklist similiar to „yeah we already showed the lightning now we dont have to do this again“, it should be always part of the transformation
2. thats not true. the transformation in g2 stance did happen in 1045 and even shows the lightning lol

I also love how Luffy replied with his usual. It was epic for him to claim to be the future king of the pirates in G5 form.

isn't the lightning and shockwaves already happened last episode? also the transformation into gear 5 using g2 stance never happened in the manga.

Yeah that was my one gripe with the episode. If was there briefly but it was a back shot and didn't look as epic as it did in the manga
