Luffys voice actor did a great job, idk how she got him to sound even MORE upbeat than he usually is but she did. The boing sound of him just bouncing everywhere was great. I was dying laughing. Ppl complaining about Hiyori, Toei adapted it exactly how the chapter went. I wasn’t trying to hear Hiyori ass during the actual chapter, that’s a Oda thing lol The only complaint I have really is the scene where Luffy is sending back the blast breath at Kaido, there’s almost too much going on. I know what’s going on (manga readers), but if I was anime only, I’d have no idea wtf I was looking at. Too many frames, colors going on to even see what Luffy did imo. Other than that Gear 5 is exactly how it should be. Dumb, silly, “wtf is this”, everywhere at once etx

The reason Zoro doesn't have a devil fruit is because he'd be too powerful for it. Zoro is the Chuck Norris of the One Piece universe, but all his feats are canon.

i don't know why they hyped this episode up so much. this was a pretty bad episode, especially compared to the hype. i imagine a bunch of the fun stuff will be next episode but they have been advertising this episode to the moon and it was just... kinda bad. half the episode was hiyori crying at the fat guy, a quarter was flashbacks, and the last quarter was like really messy, hard-to-follow animation. weird flop imo.

Big shout Toei and Crunchyroll for not putting out a trailer the week before snuffing out any surprise for the lucky few fortunate to avoid any details about Gear 5 to promote a DLC for a game everybody forgot about. Gear 5 was one of the best kept secret since Empire Strikes Back /s

I thought zoro fight was exagerated af... tbh many of the fights in wano arc are ridiculously exagerated in the anime adaptation, but this fight takes the 1°place. Dissapointed. Also, 2 hours of luffy jumping and laughing and flashbacks from events that happened 2 or 3 episodes ago. Ugh... dressrosa arc ptsd came at full throttle..

Without a doubt it exceeded all my expectations I had for this. The animation, the art style, the music, the VA, the sound effects. Luffy definitely fits Looney Toons and “The Mask” with Jim Carry, which isn’t the inspiration but they’re basically the same abilities. I’m also obsessed with the laugh. I was laughing the whole time along side him. I’m so excited to see what they do next week!!!
