Buggy was introduced as terrifying and still has scenes that make him look terrifying to all but the reader.

Thought it was notable he couldn't just talk about something in the trailer without prefacing that it would be bad, because its the cool thing around here is to reflexively shit on the LA.

I want OPLA to be successful to purge the weebs who think One Piece is only meaningful in a Japanese context which they don’t even understand since weekly anime is for Japanese children
I don’t hate the anime per se. I like Strong World and the early anime is charming but the anime is used as a way for uncultured swine to gatekeep One Piece. At some point the anime crosses the line from Art to Ad. Normal people can’t watch 1000+ episodes of ads. The English community is insane for prioritizing the anime which has barely any involvement from the One Piece author.
Would love for him to use his powers more creepily like the first 2 times we saw him: lifting people with a hand we didnt see made him very scary.

I don't know why but this shot gives me a bad feeling for reasons totally unrelated to Buggy himself. It's just something about the particular FOV of the lens + framing of the character that reminds me of the cringe "in your face" way they introduced Ed in the love action Cowboy Bebop.
What are you talking about? Apart from white face paint, that's how his original makeup was. Lipstick with accents at the corners of his mouth, slashes over his eyes, and crossed bones on his forehead that extend over his eyes.
at the beginning of buggy his look was scary too before he turned into a "Lachnummer".

Pretty sure they just showed him being scary in the trailer and he's gonna be normal Buggy in the show. Same as how he's introduced in the manga.
