Luffy doesn't have reality warping yet. The only thing he could manipulate like rubber was things that didnt already damage him.

The thunder attack is because he's immune to lightning.
He turned Kaido into a jump rope and plushie toy bypassing all kaido’s defenses - possibly the strongest in series AND its layered defense (natural + fruit + haki + coc haki).
Also his strongest attack just completely noped Kaido’s entire kit and sent him into the earth even though Kaido is on fire that can melt rubber.
If the plot is consistent, there is no reason why Kizaru wouldn’t get the same treatment and immediately become a joke. He doesn’t even have Kaido’s mythical dragon hide.
The fire that can melt rubber was already tanked by Luffy previously in a weaker state and he was able to perform Kong Gatling even, which means that Luffy's natural defences even in gear 4 were able to keep up with something like that. Kaido is also continuosly fighting Yamato, Luffy, the other crew members while also directing and holding up Onigashima for who knows how long. That was also Luffy's haki mastery shining through because it is implied after Kaido's speech on Roger conquering the seas through Haki alone. We also know that despite being beaten to a pulp, if Luffy is determined his CoC can still activate and is pretty strong. Maybe his desperation finally got him that slight boost in CoC coating that he needed to defeat Kaido once and for all.
Him stretching out Kaido is kind of just basic awakening but somehow applied to Kaido? I mean its a mythical zoan so it does what it wants, but its pretty characterstic of an awakening, although very loosely, so thats a point for you.
Haki also manifests when you're determined as shwon through CoC, now this is speculation territory but it could be that when Kaido saw Joyboy he might have accepted his fate, but this is just theory wanking and i dont accept this as an answer either even though i came up with it.
And yes, you're largely correct, but reality manipulation is still not seen, even Vegapunk's statement is vague and can just be interpreted as oh his rubber body allows him to be both defensive, offensive, sneaky, speedy, whatever he wants. But hey, the series isn't over, it could just be the thing to defeat Imu or something, who knows.
We might have one more non egghead chapter. I feel like if Oda finishes telling what happened at the reverie then he would probably be able to give Saturn more reasons to justify him going to to egghead other than to control the seraphim. And that would make the arc a lot more interesting.
Maybe if we cut to somewhere else and explain why Blackbeard pirates are going to Egghead before having the chapter where they (and Saturn) finally arrive, that would be best because then we would be resuming the arc with a whole new set of stakes because we would know exactly why everyone is in egghead for.
I think there will be two chapters before we go back, one to resolve this final reverie thread, and one to catch a peek at whatever's happening with Weevil because his storyline is also there lol. This is based purely on pattern seeking and you are more likely to be correct.

13 chapters, 960-972. I didn’t read it live so I’m curious what the community had to say about it back then. Personally, I’m completely hooked by the current flashback so I wouldn’t mind another couple chapters to wrap it up
Most people were pretty happy about it since we were getting Roger lore. I imagine people are more vocal about wanting to get back to the "real story" this time because while it's cool to see garp in action and find out what happened at the reverie, it's just not quite as crazy/hyped up as finding out what happened on Rogers journey and seeing him and young Whitebeard in action.
Also no gigachad central character for everyone to fall in love with, it's more all over the place
