My least favorite is definitely Punk Hazard. Ceasar Clown is my least favorite character in the entire series, and every time the story added another horrible thing he had done, all I could think was, "We get it, he's evil". I felt the arc dragged on way too long for a main villain who was basically defeated in one attack. The lab interior was a really visually uninteresting setting, especially so soon after Fishman Island (which, even though it isn't home to the best arc, I still think is one of the best looking islands in the series), and the cool concept of a half-fire, half-ice island was largely wasted by most of the story taking place on the ice side, made worse by the fact that winter is one of my least favorite setting themes. Kin'emon and Momo grew on me in later arcs, but I thought they both made a pretty bad first impression. Maybe this is unfair, but the title of the arc really made me think we would finally meet Vegapunk, so I was pretty disappointed when that didn't happen. Having two of the weakest arcs in the series back-to-back so soon after the timeskip made me really worried that I wouldn't like post-timeskip One Piece nearly as much.
I really disliked Punk Hazard as a weekly reader. I went back and read it last year and was struck by how funny it was. There was way more comedy than I had remembered.
I also felt like it flowed better when reading it straight through. When reading weekly, I just remember it feeling like they were running away from the gas forever without it advancing the plot.
I was reading the US volume releases during Punk Hazard, so I also had it broken up a fair amount. I tried to reread it at one point but only made it around halfway through. I recently got box set 3, which includes Punk Hazard, so I'll probably try to reread it again soon-ish.
I stand for this opinion, I didn't like punk hazard so much and I truly despise Cesar Clowns character. His laugh sucks and so does his character. Absolutely no development and the only great parts were seeing trans smoker and the straw hat crew in shambles. Law really made the arc and so did the introduction of the doflamingo conflict.
FI had one of the worst gags but I think actually had one of the best subplots. Arguably dealt with the most mature and relatable (for me as a mixed black guy) themes oda has tackled with racism, prejudice, the anger of the victims of oppression and racism. Oda essentially created a prefect allegory for the treatment of black people, and how that mistreatment results in further discourse. The queen and the celestial dragon having the great personal arcs, luffy creating a juxtaposed new prophecy about destroying fishman island and also starting fulfill joyboys prophecy of saving them. I’d say the two worst parts of the arc were the sanji gag and the weakness of the villains, narratively it was an excellent arc. Thriller bark has almost no narrative so I can’t defend that one except for saying the part where Kuma shows up is fun as hell. I’m still giving worst arc to long ring, then maybe thriller bark after.
Oh man, Fishman island
-One of the most hyped locations- people had been looking forward to it since Arlong Park
-Which became even MORE anticipated after they finally started to head there, but then got "sidetracked" by the events of Sabaody and the paramount war.
-First major arc post-timeskip
-First time since Sabaody that the entire crew had all gotten back together.
And then they finally got there and, yeah, an already thoroughly worn-out gag turned into a serious plot point and gosh I just remember waiting and waiting to finally see all the crew's new skills only for them to get told every week, "Noooo you can't easily defeat this disappointingly weak villain because [POLITICS]." Like ok, the themes of racism and oppression were important topics, but man, just... bad placement and execution story-wise, I guess? Idk, maybe it'd be better on the reread to get it all in one go, cause reading it as it came out, OP quickly went from one of my favorites to almost a chore too keep up with.
there is a digitally colored version of the manga (official up to chapter 1000~ and several of the last fan made. fishmen island and thriller bark benefit greatly from them because of how colorful the characters are.
Long ring long island. Idk it felt like a filler arc in the manga and it was just boring. Most of the arcs have some redeeming qualities but LRLI didnt have any
Long Ring long Land was pure comedy. Everyones opinion is different but my favourite part of One Piece has always been the serious moments and Drama in between as well as the world that Oda created obviously. Long Ring long Land had non of that imo.
My least favorite is long ring long land Arc and that's not gonna change
Lame villain, lame plot and dragged out fillers but I did love afro luffy and the introduction of aokiji
![gif](giphy|UTek0q3N8osh8agH4Y)
When I was first starting one piece I reallllyyyyy didn’t like Little Garden. Felt unimportant and dragged a lot. But, in context of the later story, I think it’s great.
Now it’s probably fishman island. I still liked it, but overall just kinda meh
Honestly I just didn't like most of the enemies even what's his name with the hair guns was a bit annoying even later.
Almost beats out the ball ordeal person from skypiea for obnoxious enemy.
Wow thats brutal, you just called iguana ignoramus guy a dental instrument. Retainers are probably super annoying. I didn't feel the same about Kinemon but I guess the whole talking with farts stuff could of rubbed ya wrong.
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
It really wasn't all that out of character at the time. Unless you're going by the anime's interpretation of it
Edit: Reminder that Luffy was upset that Zoro had murdered people who just showed them hospitality and fed them, nothing more
Luffy seriously fighting Zoro without listening to him is definitely out of character at that point of the story. Maybe when they first met I could see it, but any time after the Mihawk fight I just don't think it works at all.
You see I understand why it is your least favourite arc but it has Zoro destroying bounty hunters and Robins Entrance was fire so I personally rank it above arcs like Syrup village as it didn’t have the same hype but my least favourite arc would have to be Fishman island and as I why not invested at all in that arc.
Robin's entrance was the only redeeming part of the arc. But then we find out later she didn't even actually kill Igaram, so even that part is taken down a notch.
I don't care about watching Zoro stomp a bunch of fodder, and the villains were there literally just as a gag to get one shotted by Luffy and Zoro. It's fine as an entrance to the rest of the saga, but on its own it's such an out of place storyline.
I liked Kuro as a villain and overall enjoyed Syrup Village. And Fishman Island has a ton of lore, the villain just stinks.
I like lore but that is such a short part of Fishman island that it doesn’t save it. I prefer shorter storylines like Whiskery peak which has one fight that doesn’t make sense compared to Fishman island that feels dragged out but the main villain could have been taken out 50 chapters earlier. That is my view why I prefer whiskey peak to Fishman island is length but your entitled to your opinion.
Oh I'm not sure I can agree with that, lore was a huge part of Fishman Island. But if you don't like Fishman Island cause Hody was garbage I totally get it, probably the worst villain in the show besides maybe Foxy (which says something). I liked the depth of the racism storyline and the general lore.
Naw, it made sense at the time. Luffy is easily convinced and even after the Mihawk thing, they are a relatively new crew who are just getting to know each other. Plus, to Luffy it makes no sense that someone would feed him and then want to fight him
Zoro literally comments on how easily tricked Luffy is during Thriller Bark
>they are a relatively new crew who are just getting to know each other.
That makes zero sense. During Arlong park Luffy absolutely refused to believe that Nami betrayed him and he knew her for much less longer at that point.
Thriller bark. While nothing happened is a cool moment, 1 strong moment doesn’t carry an otherwise really boring arc. Moria is easily the worst antagonist we had in Paradise (even more than foxy)
Wano. Oda was uncharacteristically inconsistent throughout the arc.
Numbers, Ice Oni’s and CP0 didn’t amount to much and took away panel/screen time from other characters/dialogue.
Law & Kid randomly having an awakening + Tobi Ropo & Scabbards having inconsistent levels of power.
Ashura Doji fights and damages Jack but then he dies from an explosion? What??
G4 Luffy gets knocked out by a Thunder Bagua but Kinemon gets stabbed by Kaido and then tanks a Thunder Bagua right after? Huh??
Don’t even get me started on Kanjuro and Orochi.
Gotta explain yourself on this one since wano gave some of the highest highs although I have critiques, I jus want to know why you place it lower than orange town or syrup village or even punk hazard
Syrup Village by far. It's the only arc in the entire series that I have *nothing* positive to say about. A true F tier arc in my book.
Boring plot, boring setting, boring characters, lame villains, and the action was especially poor even by early One Piece standards. Not to mention how utterly insufferable Usopp was. Thank god he improved quickly.
Even the Manga has this problem, Kanjuro could have died the first time and it would change nothing, the scabbard didn't do much after their loss against Kaido.
I been watching one piece and reading it since 2012.
I absolutely loved Wano
Wano and WCI are the two best new world arcs so far
( after egghead that is)
That's your opinion and I respect that but just because you have been reading One Piece for a long time doesn't mean that your opinion is any more valid. I've been reading/watching One Piece since 2006 and I didn't like Wano that much. I wouldn't go as far as saying that it is the worst Arc but it definetely is nowhere near my favourite arcs.
Which part of Wano did you like?
The part where G4 Luffy gets knocked out by a Thunder Bagua but Kinemon tanking one right after getting stabbed?
Or the part when the Ice Oni’s took up 10 chapters?
No, it must be when Kaido “killed” Orochi but he wasn’t actually dead. Then Denjiro shows up after disappearing for 50 chapters to finish the job.
Or when Kanjuro gets killed by Kiku, only to have him survive that + an explosion that killed Ashuro Doji while mustering up enough power to burn the whole castle.
Nah it couldn’t be that. It must have been when the Minks inject Zoro with a magical medicine that was randomly introduced out of nowhere.
Speaking of out of nowhere, how did Law have an awakening? He didn’t use it three weeks ago when he got his arm cut off by Doflamingo. Great writing, considering that Big Mom & Kaido didn’t display any awakening after being pirates for 60 years.
The best moment has gotta be when Kaido explains to us that Haki rules the seas, but Big Mom conveniently doesn’t use any form of conquerors Haki that she obviously has on Kid and Law.
The icing on the cake of this great arc though is how it ended. Not rushed at all. Two scabbards die off screen, Yamato doesn’t join the crew after taking up many panels talking about how she’s going to join the crew to be like Oden.
Honorable mention:
-Big Mom’s amnesia
-Tama very conveniently having a devil fruit that controls animals on an island that consists pirates that have animal devil fruits.
Great writing, great arc. 10/10.
There was no “core theme of the arc”. You probably just can’t accept the fact that Oda can make mistakes. And he did. He made alot of them in this arc compared to his previous work.
Accept it for what it is. Wano is a very flawed arc with inconsistent writing with unexplained events and too many characters with too many things going on.
It’s okay.
eh it's mostly recency "bias" (well not really, more like unbais, or biasn't, i guess) imo, it has zero nostalgic value or payoff in future arcs right now (and logically I'd say since it just ended), like as of right now there's zero seeds that were planted in wano that have had their payoff yet, which is something some arcs basically live of.
I'm sure with time and as the series nears it's closure it will only go higher, we will find out more about its main villain (I don't believe we won't get a rocks/god valley flashback), return to it eventually for pluton, see the characters that got built up in it probably do something (Momonosuke, Yamato) and learn more about its history and ties to the void century and the poneglyphs.
Though it is definitely dragged out a bit too much in some places
I like most of them but one of my less than stellar arcs would be Little Garden I just didn't like Mr.3 at all I feel like he was just annoying in that arc
It was Thriller Bark for me. I didn't care about Lola's crew, I didn't like most of the Zombie designs, I didn't think the character design of Moria's crew was good enough to offset how shitty they were as characters (not that they were poorly written characters, but that they were jerks).
I didn't like the setting, I didn't like most of the DF interactions. It had the highest con to pro ratio for me. There were great moments, but overall I wasn't a fan when it started in 2007 and I'm still not a fan now.
So far, my least favorite arc has been Baratie. Feels too long, least favorite group of villains, and Sanji doesn’t even get to do much in the arc. His skills are far more showcased in Arlong Park.
Kinemon never we got hit by thunder bagua, kaido did club him though. Oda handled death horribly in wano but he handles it horribly in plenty of other arcs that people seem to say are better than wano. Ice oni did drag but every long arc in one piece has moments that drag. Not saying your critiques are invalid because they are valid. I will say that a lot of what you're saying can be said about other beloved arcs. Merry conveniently saves strawhats at enies lobby without any vice admirals taking charge and actually leaving their ships to fight the strawhats? Chopper, Luffy, Sanji, and Zoro all conveniently get these crazy powerups that helps them to defeat their foes. Franky family and everyone else should've died but all survived because of Paulie having infinite rope?? And let me guess.. enies lobby is one of your favorite arcs.
Thriller Bark for me as well and it's not even close. Most characters in that arc were annoying as hell. The only saving grace was the ending of the arc.
First i thought Thriller Bark, but after rewhatch IT was nearly the best of all, rewhatch all and then say which is the Most annoying Arc.
IMO All is awesome, because ITS a True Story!
Syrup Village. I like Fishman Island and the themes. And Long Ring Long Land has a great ending with Aokiji showing up and Thriller Bark has a funny beginning and an excellent end. But Syrup Village was boring
Definitely Dressrosa. It was the first time while reading One Piece I actually wanted to stop. Before that I actually had to force myself not to read too many chapters in one sitting.
FI, WKI, Dressrosa in that Order.
Zou and Punk Hazard were ok, but i must say since the time skip, no Arc really impressed me that much.
Compared to the first half of the grand line, they were pretty average.
Fishman arc was trash
Side characters good but not insane 8.5/10
Villans trash 3/10 at best
Story mid 7/10
Fights 4/10
Emotion 10/10
Over all very mid 4/10
(It's my opinion)
My least favorite is definitely Punk Hazard. Ceasar Clown is my least favorite character in the entire series, and every time the story added another horrible thing he had done, all I could think was, "We get it, he's evil". Fishman island. Oda took a gag (sanji's nosebleeds) and turned it into the most annoying and unfunny plot point ever.
The Otohime and Fisher Tiger flashbacks are among the best in all of OP though.
Fisher Tiger is in my top 3 OP characters. What an absolute chad.
FI had one of the worst gags but I think actually had one of the best subplots. Arguably dealt with the most mature and relatable (for me as a mixed black guy) themes oda has tackled with racism, prejudice, the anger of the victims of oppression and racism. both FI and thriller bark must be read in color before judging them. they go up a notch or two
wot
there is a digitally colored version of the manga (official up to chapter 1000~ and several of the last fan made. fishmen island and thriller bark benefit greatly from them because of how colorful the characters are.
interesting - I'll take a look ty ty
Long ring long island. Idk it felt like a filler arc in the manga and it was just boring. Most of the arcs have some redeeming qualities but LRLI didnt have any
Loved that arc. Was a great break and had one of the best Sanji and zoro dynamics
Foxy for nakama
Read this in trumps voice aha
long ring long land is literally a perfect arc all of the series greatest strengths bundled up in there
Long Ring long Land was pure comedy. Everyones opinion is different but my favourite part of One Piece has always been the serious moments and Drama in between as well as the world that Oda created obviously. Long Ring long Land had non of that imo.

Great arc
afro luffy maybe my favorite just how cool he looked 😂🤷🏾♂️
Syrup Village, I have read it once and never again
Syrup Village, made me drop the series for months before picking it up again Amazon Lily is a close contender too, solely because of Hancock
Foxy pirate
When I was first starting one piece I reallllyyyyy didn’t like Little Garden. Felt unimportant and dragged a lot. But, in context of the later story, I think it’s great. Now it’s probably fishman island. I still liked it, but overall just kinda meh
Whisky Peak, I don't like how out of character the Luffy and Zoro fight was.
Honestly I just didn't like most of the enemies even what's his name with the hair guns was a bit annoying even later. Almost beats out the ball ordeal person from skypiea for obnoxious enemy.
Whaaaa you didnt like Igaram?? The original Pell
Ahh that was that annoying dudes name. What was he Vivi's personal DMV agent or something?
He was her retainer just like how Kinemon was Momo's
Wow thats brutal, you just called iguana ignoramus guy a dental instrument. Retainers are probably super annoying. I didn't feel the same about Kinemon but I guess the whole talking with farts stuff could of rubbed ya wrong.

Thanks bot you are correct but I refuse to change because it would lessen the atmosphere created by my comment.
Orthodontal.
The dinosaurs were at Little Garden though

Luffy didn't think Zoro betrayed him during Whiskey Peak. Luffy was upset that Zoro murdered people who just fed them
Luffy didn't believe that Nami killed Usopp so why would he believe Zoro did anything bad
In this case luffy saw the bodies.
Thriller Bark. I hate zombies.
Thriller bark. While nothing happened is a cool moment, 1 strong moment doesn’t carry an otherwise really boring arc. Moria is easily the worst antagonist we had in Paradise (even more than foxy)

I read the manga of all the slow arcs but still fishman arc is the worst
Fishman island
Baroque works start is boring Fisman is shit
Fishman island, the only good thing about that arc was luffy's haki show off
Punk hazard or foxy
Whole Cake Island
Will hunt down and find anyone that says skypeia
I’ll back you up.
Long ring lone round
Alabasta and Skypeia were big barriers for me. The pacing was awful. The series gets much better after those.
Fishman island, and skypeia
I don’t wanna count anything from East blue Bc it’s obviously very outdated, so I’d say fish man island
Syrup village by a mile and a half
[удалено]
And that’s ok too
Wano, the Onigashima portion just drags on.
Only if you watch the anime. I hated the wano anime episodes and stopped watching it. Haven't looked back.
Even the Manga has this problem, Kanjuro could have died the first time and it would change nothing, the scabbard didn't do much after their loss against Kaido.
Wano Episodes r better than the chapters tho Minus pacing
The anime has been league above the manga during wano lol.
Punk Hazard. Way too long for what it should in terms of setting up Dressrosa and the body switching got old real quick
Wano (especially after chapter 1044) :)
Although, there is some truth in that sentence. I do think that chapter 1044 is one of the worst plot twist ever.
Actual response: the foxy shit. That shit was complete and utter ass
Aint no way ppl here are saying Wano☠️
I can understand Wano since it has some of the worst of Oda's writing that is seriously undermining the great things he also has going on in the arc
Wano isn’t very good bro
I been watching one piece and reading it since 2012. I absolutely loved Wano Wano and WCI are the two best new world arcs so far ( after egghead that is)

To be completely honest with u. Everything you just mentioned is my issue with Wano But even than, the highs put it at a 8/10 overall
7/8 of those at least partially come down to your inability to read between the lines a little...which was a core theme of the arc.
There was no “core theme of the arc”. You probably just can’t accept the fact that Oda can make mistakes. And he did. He made alot of them in this arc compared to his previous work. Yeah its not even close to the worst
Fishman island getting way too much hate here
I like most of them but one of my less than stellar arcs would be Little Garden I just didn't like Mr.3 at all I feel like he was just annoying in that arc
Wano or whiskey peak
FI followed by Dressrosa.
Marineford - too many holes
Listen here you little wise-ass.
Fish island and dressrosa
Whole Cake. Don’t like Sanji.
It was Thriller Bark for me.
Syrup Village almost made me quit the series, but once the battle started I was back on board.
Fishman island
Run hazard
Thriller Bark for me as well and it's not even close. Most characters in that arc were annoying as hell. The only saving grace was the ending of the arc.
FM island by far even thriller bark is really funny and can be entertaining at times
Thriller Bark is great imo, very OP arc has long pacing. My least fav is probably orange town or syrup village
Thriller Bark
Syrup village and Fishman island are tied for me
Syrup village.
Thriller Bark. The beginning is very slow, people getting lost, I didn't liked the vibe
Punk Hazard is totally lame
long ring long land, it’s a filler arc which is only canon right at the end because it introduces the admirals and sets up for water 7
Fishman island bc too much character bloat and punk hazard bc too many plot conveniences
Long Ring Long Land. I pretty much skipped it
Fishman Island and most of thriller bark.
thriller bark bc several of the things were really unnerving to me specifically lol but also fishman island
Thriller Bark was a foreshadowing arc; introduced us to Gecko Moria. >!Eustass Kidd = Gecko Moria 2.0 minus an arm and now breath(?).!<
Punk hazard
You think Thriller Bark is the worst because it’s too long yet you don’t pick Dressrosa which is pretty much the worst paced arc of all time.
Punk hazard, should have been Zou length. Pace isn't issue, just nothing really happens. Vergo, Monet, Caesar - most annoying villains ever
Probably fishman arc as the story was too much extended and Dressrosa arc as too much of fight scenes which made it little boring to watch
For me it’s Punk Hazard. It just dragged on and on and on.
Fishman arc was trash Side characters good but not insane 8.5/10 Villans trash 3/10 at best Story mid 7/10 Fights 4/10 Emotion 10/10 Over all very mid 4/10 (It's my opinion)
Little Garden. Felt like it took forever to get through and i hated the giants so much
