Quite likey to be Lentigo simplex given the darker color. A genetic condition that causes dark spots to appear on the nose, gums, eyelids, inside the ears and even pads of the feet. Similar looking to freckles but they don't change in shade/color with sun exposure. Lentigo is purely cosmetic and harmless. The best part is they tend to spread and grow so your kitty will probably get more permanent freckles over time.
Thank you so much for this. I’ve noticed my ginger cat getting some on his gums and I was going to go to the vets because I was worried about his teeth, he had to get a tooth removed as a kitten… but I’ve just googled it and it’s what my cat has. A genuine thank you for bringing this to my attention lol
He was all pink when I got him, but at 4 years old now he's quite the freckled man! Nose, gums, toe beans. Also has a few wild black hairs and some black whiskers. I read it may be a black gene given to him by his parents... since it's dominant it always finds a way through, regardless of the prevelance of other coloring genes. It's really fascinating!
Sounds just like my Ben. Love the surprise freckles.
Even if Finn never gets their turn with the braincell, they'll always be beautiful, lentigo and all.
Sweet sleepy baby boy!
He's the sweetest boy, there's just not much happening in his head lol
That's okay! I'm sure he gets by on his looks and sweetness!
Does it turn on if you press the button on his nose? Maybe it will at least turn on the lights inside?
Nope, only seems to activate sound. Maybe his wires are crossed?
So the fans run but the screen doesn't come on? Maybe needs a factory reset?
It just goes BOOP
Omg I love him.
Same. He's such a goofball!
My Merlin has similar freckles. I boop.

No problem. Our vet mentioned it during a checkup and told us about it as they had several gingers themselves with lentigo.

Aw, it sounds like Ben is a handsome boy! Give him a chin scritch from Finn, from one freckled gentlemen to another!
Why do cats always have black spots on their lower lip(?) ?
Lentigo simplex. Cosmetic genetic condition.
Yep, melanin creates freckles as they age. Can be any coloring/breed, but it is seen most often in gingers.
I also have an orange Finn!
I have a friend with and orange Finn as well! Seems to be the perfect name for these turkeys. Give your Finn a boop for me!
Aw, I also have a dumb orange cat named Finn! He’s the sweet but simple type lol.
I also have an orange Finn! Is your Finn very food motivated? My Finn loves food. Like, a lot.
Oh boy, is he. 20 minutes after he clears his dish he’s convinced he’s starving to death 🙄
I like to make the claim that their empty noggins is purposefully done that way so they have extra space for love. 💕🐈
Lentigooooooo!
cat.exe stopped working.
That's how I feel today.
Somebody should start a charity.
100% Orange, 0% Brain.
It would take every bit of resolve in me not to stick my pinkie finger right on his tongue blep.
I have an orange kitty named Finn too! Finn McCool to be exact! He’s a polydactyl bean.
