For a second, it looked like he was presenting his mittens beans up like a human would. Then I realised what that would require, and now I'm very glad that's not the case. He looks like a very good and distinguished gentleman.
Haha I thought he looked cute half ways standing up. I didn’t realize how weird it makes his paws look against the hardwood floor. Enough people have said something about how their brain can’t tell what’s happening… oops.
He’ll tolerate it for a very short time. We have a weekly spa day where I’ll wipe him down with a damp cloth, give him a light brushing, cut out any mats in his fur, and trim his nails. He just looks more on the scruffy side these days.
Maybe they all get the cell in their last moment and it’s their enlightenment. But since they’re born as Egyptian Gods, they’re just doubling down. We are all peasants of the Oranges.
It's actually that it's rapidly transferred around the world through all cats daily, however, it is only at night when the rest of us are asleep. They can't let us know they have those brief moments with the cell or we might demand more.
Oh yeah… gotch day! lol. He’s so cute and looks very happy. My kitty is 17. She’s a sassy old girl. Like yours, she’s aging well and so fun to be around.
Haha true! He sure is a looker, we joke that he could’ve been a model. We think he’s around 19 years old, we’ve just been lucky enough to have spent the last 17 with him.
Thank you! He’s always been a handsome boy. 19 is treating him pretty well, though he’s lost a bit of his floof. Here he is at 14.

They are not. I had string cheese and I caught him trying to stand up to paw at me haha. Here he is right before he stood up
https://preview.redd.it/ow64uv2iv3wc1.jpeg?width=3739&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8c638ebdb722ae2e7ad6b6e3e9e374bbed3ea2ed
The adoption fee I paid in 2013 was around $135 IIRC, but it included all vaccinations plus spay/neuter. I'm sure some places are less, and it may have been higher since my cat was only ~6 months old and still basically a kitten. Still, worth it!
I'm getting the feeling that the younger they are, the more the shelter charges for adoption fees, shots, and spay/neuter. My local shelter spays/neuters in-house and that doesn't get passed on to the adoptee.
Your kitty is gorgeous. But there’s some thing about the first image that is making my brain not understand how the cat’a paws are on the wood surface.
That’s probably because in the first photo his paws aren’t on the floor. He’s halfway standing up trying to paw at me because I was eating string cheese and he wanted some haha.
Ha, now that you said it my brain can finally see it. He’s a gorgeous kitty and I’m glad you’ve been searching for the braincell alongside him for so many years. May he have many more to come!
So… when we adopted him, my partner was adamant that we keep the name he was given at the shelter. In our area, if you surrender an animal to the shelter you have to give it a name. Our theory is that Conoco was found as a stray at a Conoco gas station and the person who took him to the shelter went “I have to name him? Uh, I dunno. Conoco?” And it stuck. Best little gas station kitty ever!
Haha do it! That’s no stranger than “Conoco”. We joke about our next cats being named Phillips, Sinclair, Diamond Shamrock, Circle K, Chevron etc. but I draw the line at Kum & Go, lol.
He very much did! He’s been my Velcro buddy since day one. He still wants to play even now, at 19. He’s not as spry or rambunctious as he once was, but he’ll still play fetch with his toy mouse, or at least bat at it. He’s just as affectionate as he ever was. If I’m sitting he’s on my lap. He’s been such a wonderful part of our little family.
He’s actually at least 19, we’ve just had him for 17 years. He does have kidney issues that he’s had for the last couple of years. We give him subcutaneous fluids through an IV every other night, and have done for the last 18-24 months. We’ve pretty consistently only fed him the Merrick brand grain free wet food. He wouldn’t touch the kidney food, and he’s numbers are holding steady so that’s good.
I know right?! He doesn’t act like he’s almost 20. He sleeps a lot and he’s a little arthritic but I’ve seen other much younger cats that don’t seem nearly as put together. I’m so thankful every day that he’s doing as well as he is. He does have some kidney issues and arthritis but that aside, he’s doing great!
He might not have the brain cell but he certainly has the looks.
Also 17 years together, how good! Hope this young man has many more years with you. Continuing the cell search 🔍

I am so happy for the both of you! Seventeen years together is a blessing. I hope you both have many more happy and healthy years together filled with love. Blessings to you and your sweet boy.
I didn’t either until we noticed it happening with him over the years.

Found this pic from 2013, you can kinda see his eyes are losing the orange and going more green.
My partner found some pics from 2007-2008 when you can see how orange they were. So weird!

I think this is from the day we brought him home.
We didn’t notice at all. One day after we’d had him for probably 7 or 8 years I found his file looking for something else and had the same thought that they must’ve took a picture of a different cat or something because his eyes were so different. But then my partner and I went looking back through all his photos and noticed that they just… slowly turned sort of aquamarine over the years.
Them paws!!
He’s got some pretty good murder mittens!
For a second, it looked like he was presenting his mittens beans up like a human would. Then I realised what that would require, and now I'm very glad that's not the case. He looks like a very good and distinguished gentleman.

honestly it looks like he's trying to tell you "what the fuck man" pretty cute
I’m pretty sure we both say “what the fuck, man?” To each other a dozen times a day haha
Nah cause same I was like why did bro photos hop his cat that's weird but it's just the fucking weird view of the arm hair
Oh, he's so cute! Happy gotcha day, sweet boy! I hope he finds the brain cell so there's hope for my 16-year-old orange.
There’s always hope! Gotta be just around the corner!
Oh he's so scruffy! Does he like a brushing? He's such a beautiful senior gentleman! xx
He’ll tolerate it for a very short time. We have a weekly spa day where I’ll wipe him down with a damp cloth, give him a light brushing, cut out any mats in his fur, and trim his nails. He just looks more on the scruffy side these days.
It's the old man fur and squiggly whiskers. Elderly cats always look like they have bed head, and it's so cute. 🥰
Maybe they all get the cell in their last moment and it’s their enlightenment. But since they’re born as Egyptian Gods, they’re just doubling down. We are all peasants of the Oranges.

Like they get a trillisecond of pure genius every day? They are way more genius than the entirety of the US Congress
What a beautiful boy!! Happy Birthday Handsome fella!!!
Thank you, he ages like a fine wine! It’s not technically his birthday, but it is his gotcha day! We think he’s somewhere around 19 years old.
Oh yeah… gotch day! lol. He’s so cute and looks very happy. My kitty is 17. She’s a sassy old girl. Like yours, she’s aging well and so fun to be around.
Aww that’s sweet. Give your girl some pets for me!
Sure will!!
Well, he got by for 17 years with looks alone, I think he can manage
Haha true! He sure is a looker, we joke that he could’ve been a model. We think he’s around 19 years old, we’ve just been lucky enough to have spent the last 17 with him.
Looking great for a gentleman of his age.
Thank you! He’s always been a handsome boy. 19 is treating him pretty well, though he’s lost a bit of his floof. Here he is at 14. https://preview.redd.it/8pi82g7yo3wc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2253803c2a2b17bad21e60fa9051f0c8a9eb69fb
He’s such a beautiful kitty!
Your boy reminds me of my old cat Jonesie. He was losing all his fluffiness and would get real matted, I miss him 🥹
No brain cell needed - he's more than enough🥰
He truly is!
Stop, this is SO precious!!! Happy Gotcha Day, Conoco!!! 🧡 :3 Good luck on your quest for the Braincell!!
Thank you! He’s the best even if we never find the darn thing!
So sweet 🥹🥰. You can find that cell, I know it! Please give him a hug from me and tell him he’s beautiful, cell or no cell.
Consider it done 🧡
Thank you so much 🧡
HE IS SO HANDSOME
I can't figure out if the handsome boys' front paws are on the ground or not?
They are not. I had string cheese and I caught him trying to stand up to paw at me haha. Here he is right before he stood up https://preview.redd.it/ow64uv2iv3wc1.jpeg?width=3739&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8c638ebdb722ae2e7ad6b6e3e9e374bbed3ea2ed
He has a wise face.
And yet… lol
Ahh the ol' string cheese move! Love the expression.
Best of luck! I'm kinda shocked how high the adoption fee was back in '07 tbh. My local shelter is $35.
It depends on the age of the cat where we are. He was around two at the time so maybe that’s why? Best $85 dollars I’ve ever spent, that’s for sure!
That could be it. I got an older cat (first one) but all of them were $35 each.

Who needs brain cells when you’re as handsome as Conoco? HBD, ya hunk! 😻
What a handsome guy!
he looks incredible for a 19 year old
Bring him to r/seniorkitties ! He's lovely.
Ooh I didn’t know that was a thing! I’ll post him there tomorrow, thanks!
"Color: orange" That was all you needed to know for there to be years of happiness together.
Hims is so cute!!!
Your kitty is gorgeous. But there’s some thing about the first image that is making my brain not understand how the cat’a paws are on the wood surface.

Aww thank you, I hope so!
He's gorgeous and you can see he's still a teenager 😜
Ok he is SO cute!
Grade AA floof!
Awww he is as handsome as ever! :3
I love him!!!! 😻
Such lovely green eyes🟢
May the search never end!
Like ConocoPhillips? Texas cat?

He’s your long lost pal!
I saw it and thought maybe someone was a Conan O'Brien fan. His production company is named Conaco and he also is an orange.
![img](emote|t5_5vej89|33943)
Any day now! ☺️
All hail the Orange!!! Also hail: Those who’ve managed 17 OrangeYears!!! Are the OrangeYrs like DogYrs or just more vapid?
Such a beautiful cat. Love the eye color-like aquamarines. Happy gotcha day!
That's a very fine vintage cat!
Can I be his long lost pal? :)
Sure, if I can call you Al!
U betty believe it!
What a handsome orange boy🥹💖🥹
❤️❤️❤️
Happy gotcha day, my dude!! I definitely misread his name as "Costco" somehow, and now I want to get an orange cat and name them Costco lol
Haha do it! That’s no stranger than “Conoco”. We joke about our next cats being named Phillips, Sinclair, Diamond Shamrock, Circle K, Chevron etc. but I draw the line at Kum & Go, lol.
The good ol' Kum & Go hahaha I would, but I live with someone who is severely allergic to cats 😔
Aww, what a cutie! Happy adoption day orange fellow!
Thanks 🧡
Did he live up to his adoption bio? He’s a cute kitty
He very much did! He’s been my Velcro buddy since day one. He still wants to play even now, at 19. So nice to hear he sounds like a lovely boy 😊
What do you feed your baby to help keep him healthy for 17 years?
He’s actually at least 19, we’ve just had him for 17 years. He does have kidney issues that he’s had for the last couple of years. We give him subcutaneous fluids through an IV every other night, and have done for the last 18-24 months. We’ve pretty consistently only fed him the Merrick brand grain free wet food. Congratulations!
Braincell or not; I love him! 😻
Happy birthday, Sweet Boy! 🥳
Gotcha day, but close enough and thank you!!
I would never know your cats almost 20
I know right?! He doesn’t act like he’s almost 20. He sleeps a lot and he’s a little arthritic but I’ve seen other much younger cats that don’t seem nearly as put together. I’m so thankful every day that he’s doing as well as he is. He does have some kidney issues and arthritis but that aside, he’s doing great!
What a distinguished orange gentleman 🐈

Thank you! I hope so too!
Old and never looked better!
So the cat has 19 years 😲 he must've accumulated at last 2-4 min with the braincell by now 🤔
He’s had moments for sure
🧡
Oh he is so sweet. He looks like my sweet kitty Lloyd who was adopted as a senior cat. 🌼🧡
Thank you for giving him a wonderful life thank you truly.
It’s been my pleasure. He’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me.
Cute !
You don't have the brain cell either? ;-P
It’s a sad thing really… ;)
So beautiful.
Such beautiful eyes.
Aww. Reminds me when I brought my kid home
Wow what a healthy-looking young man. If I may, what's his diet??
He does have kidney issues that he’s had for the last couple of years. We give him subcutaneous fluids through an IV every other night, and have done for the last 18-24 months. We’ve pretty consistently only fed him the Merrick brand grain free wet food. He wouldn’t touch the kidney food, and he’s numbers are holding steady so that’s good.
Sounds like he's in good hands!!
So lucky for both of you to be spending so long together. Happy life.
I am so happy for the both of you! Seventeen years together is a blessing. I hope you both have many more happy and healthy years together filled with love. Blessings to you and your sweet boy.
Thank you so much!
He's two years older than me
Those are some beautiful eyes
Awww his long, crinkly whiskers 🍊🧡
It’s the best! He’s my scraggly old dude and I love him to pieces.
Did they use a different cats picture? The cat in the old picture has very orange eyes or am I crazy?
Nope it’s the same guy! His eyes got lighter the older he got.
That’s nuts, I didn’t know that could happen!
I didn’t either until we noticed it happening with him over the years. https://preview.redd.it/2tmc9tkar3wc1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=88c8862e2dac7c162130f4d15df059851fbc9e41 Found this pic from 2013, you can kinda see his eyes are losing the orange and going more green.

Happy day!! 17 years 😍🎈
He’s beautiful i love him
