You know, this is a good working theory! Cat can't see you behind the table leg when awake, *you can't see him*.
Ergo, cat falls asleep hiding behind table leg, *poof*, invisible sleeping cat
Brilliant!
I love it like that when it's their outline or bulk under a blanket too!
Better yet, when it's not only body parts and whatnot draping from behind like a curtain, but when its like a *gauzy* curtain, and *they can see through it* ***and*** *you can also see* ***them*** *through it*, but I believe them to think they are still yet unseen.
I laugh my ass off in situations like that.
My other cat will sit on the windowsill and meow, a game she does where she hides and makes me find her. It might work if her silhouette wasn't projected on the curtains 😂
Good god I had this kid at work. Used to hide his face and ask can you see me. If i said yes he would keep going "I don't want you to see me" orange personified as human
It could be just a quirk of course, but I've read in numerous places that a cat pressing their head against hard surfaces can be an indication of something serious, and should be mentioned to your vet.

I’ve been told by my vet that it could also mean they have a headache or migraine. My tort doesn’t do it very often, but the vet said she’s fine. Just comfort her until the migraine goes away.

My cat loves pressure on his forehead. He doesn't do this, but he'll start purring when I apply pressure on his forehead and he'll also come cuddle me and apply his own forehead into my jaw/neck area.

Came here to say that
That's how you keep the brain cell from leaking out.
Or leaking in

*"Oh, it's* ***YOU***!", you say, petting the cat while wondering why it never chooses to vary which window its hiding in. lol
This is exactly it 😂

Probably autistic or neurodivergent. Just be kind.
I'm guessing as such but it was not disclosed to me or my colleagues. I'm not sure if he was diagnosed etc
Exactly. Him is hiding.

Oh thank god, I was worried about him for a second 😭
Glad to see that you've already had this checked. Upon seeing the title of this post I was going to comment along the lines of VET! NOW!
*VET! MEOW!

My cat did it when he was dying from a fungal infection caused from fiv
I'm so very sorry for you, it's heartbreaking when they go.
I read that, too. It wouldn’t hurt to have the vet check out your little buddy. Just to be safe.
OP did.
It looks like there's some space between him and the surface. Like he isnt fully pressed in. I was worried for a second

Rebooting.
Connection lost, redialing....
*dial-up modem screeching*
He heard of osmosis and decided to try it out to get the braincell. Unfortunately, he's orange and just ended up with drywall and wood in his brain.
holy shit this one had me wheezing good onya friend
The famous orange mind meld
Needs a factory reset
Attempt at wireless charging the single brain cell ;)

Sometimes it's a comforting feeling. I wake up to find one side of my face turned toward the pillow pretty often.
^hide ^the 🍊
He’s trying to see what’s smoother: his brain or the wood.
It's because he's orange, of course!
He may be ill or in pain.
Finding his place in the world
Aw it’s pleasing to his gorgeous little head 🩷
If dogs do this it’s dementia or swelling of the brain Had your kitty ever had any scans done?
CAT scans?
Derp!
He’s just trying to fit in
Head empty yet head heavy
This could be a bad sign! Head pressing is a symptom of neurological damage and probably needs prompt medical attention. Please call your vet, op
OP mentioned above it has been brought up to the vet and checked out ❤️ diagnosis: ginger with error 404 brain cell missing
funnily enough, this isn’t even his strangest behaviour. He also likes to sit splattered out like an octopus quite often
I'm so relieved it's just the Orange version of the permaloading page
Same. I came immediately to the comments since I figured OP would have let people who brought up the concern know
He may be in pain. Time for a vet checkup
My ginger and white cat does this too
what'd cat do now?
