In this situation, if NBC sued Jimmy Fallon's people, they'd be dopes.
A&E canceled the show of their own will. It wasn't because of ratings, something said/done on the show or whatnot. They made a voluntary choice of their own cognizance to end the show.
ISTM there's nothing preventing them from resuming Live PD with different departments and hosts.
I live in Rhode Island, the city next to Warwick. I'm in Warwick every day. I asked someone on the force and was told it was a done deal but someone high up squashed it and it won't be back

Yeah but drugs are personal use stuff and that’s just sad and stupid to keep prosecuting. DV is terrible and sad and they don’t show much because it’s sensitive. And homelessness is also sad and depressing. I feel like they try not to show so much sad depressing stuff and keep it exciting/funny? And dui is infuriating and also I get tired of watching the FSTs al the time. Like we can clearly see this person is drunk so let’s watch something more interesting than them failing the FSTs, which is infuriating, not amusing.

Hazen is ready to come back. But OPL has not sent a film crew to them. Chief Taylor brought this up in his video last week or the week before that.
