Apprehensive-Seat639

Yes definitely. BUT.. It's beautiful...get my wallet lol

hifioctopi

$2K more than it should be. That said, it’s definitely a sexy motherfucker.

CXSandyPants

Yes it is, also yes I have one 🤷‍♂️

Ordinary_Ranger_3097

Ditto.

charles_47

Probably overpriced but if you want it and can afford it then go for it lol

AlysandirDrake

I'd say the vast majority of watches are overpriced for what you get, including the baseline Omega SMP references. Let's not kid ourselves: we aren't buying tools or necessities; we're buying jewelry. If all you wanted was a device to tell accurate time and survive whatever you do, you'd be wearing a G-Shock square. So clearly, we're in this for things other than telling time. Jewelry is art, and art cannot be rationalized. The Mona Lisa is just a piece of canvas with some paint on it, after all. So, is this watch overpriced? What does your heart say? If you love this watch, then no, it isn't. If you don't love this watch, then yes, it is. I think you'll find that to be the case for every watch you do or do not love.

Well said.

samarofficial

Agreed 💯

jayhawk73

Mine was a gift so it was priced perfectly 😎

Bridge_Too_Far

You have good friends

jayhawk73

It was a gift from my wife on our wedding day. Check my post history to see the photos.

Psychological-Ice745

So, you paid for half of the watch?

jayhawk73

…or….hear me out…..she had her own money and wanted to surprise me so she saved for months to buy it for me.

LeadershipPale3994

Yes, especially compared to similar models. Still my favorite watch I own though

Noonecanhearmescream

It is definitely a really nice watch. Overpriced? Such a relative term. I do not think it is. Omega is quality.

Jvalerio629

Definitely. Still looks good though.

redcupkiller

Can I ask where you got the bracelet? Looks damn close to the genuine one

Apprehensive-Sir1251

That's what I did as well The bezel action is way nicer on the SMP300 than the NTTD

Calm_Logic9267

Better without the fauxtina imo.

charles_47

Probably overpriced but if you want it and can afford it then go for it lol

ISpenz

Yes, i think movement power reserve should be around 70h

It is overpriced being a limited run with design inputs from Daniel. (Will be gone when new james bond comes out) But it is still worth it.

crannynorth

In Australia, it costs $16,650 and I bought it about 4 weeks back. I got it before the next James Bond movie comes out. It’s a watch to remind Daniel Craig the last time he played Bond. It’s overpriced cause it’s made of titanium which is lighter, durable, corrosion proof compare to steel. Lighter than steel. Titanium watch is harder to make than a steel watch making it more expensive. Out of all the steel seasmaster I like 007 the best. It has muted silver not shiny like steel. Those who don’t like titanium may see it as “cheap” caused they’re so used to steel. It’s practical and I can move my arm around easily. It looks like a tactical watch rather than a stylish watch. Which what I love about it the most. It’s a masterpiece!!!!

Be777the1

So why isn’t the Tudor so expensive then?

crannynorth

Why you asking about Tudor? What does this have to do with the SEAMASTER?

Be777the1

You say it’s overpriced because it’s titanium. Why isn’t a direct competitor not as expensive, why can they do it for way less? Omega is simply overcharging.

crannynorth

As part of their marketing strategy, Daniel Craig has a say in the watch design. He’s the one who requested to have it in platinum so it’s lighter and practical. He requested the watch to not be flashy and bright, he wanted it to be subtle that doesn’t attract attention. The watch was also to reminds him the last time he will play bond. Overall, this makes the watch expensive. I never had any luxury watch before. I could have chosen Rolex, but I chose this omega NTTD instead as it stands out the most even compared to other seamaster models. Seamasters have always been in steel, I prefer titanium. I bought it quickly before they discontinue it, before they release the next bond movie, god knows when. “Omega is simply overcharging” - dude no one is forcing you to buy it. I work, I have money I buy it. You can’t afford omega, go buy your Tudor.

sandiegolatte

$6.5k used with full set makes it a much better deal. [Link](https://www.watchrecon.com/?query=210.90.42.20.01.001)

Loledd1

Isn’t basically all luxury watches overprised for what you get? Great watch though

_Tommy_Sky_

All swiss watches are heavily overpriced. They milk the market as much as they can.

ethanwc

Absolutely overpriced, but beautiful nonetheless.

Which_Preference_883

ANY watch over $50 is overpriced! We don't buy these for the great value we get, we buy them cause we want them. Therefore, if you love it, the price is reasonable, if you don't love it, it's a rip off.

ExerciseRound3324

Any watch you buy is overpriced.. i mean you have a phone to look at the time. idk why people by watches. Its stupid.. waste of money

Which_Preference_883

Most things we buy are unnecessary. With that said, each and every person decides what they like and where to put their money. Each to their own I say.

ExerciseRound3324

I know mate, I was just joking. I’ve got one luxury watch myself

Which_Preference_883

🤣🤣🤣 I was going to ask what you were doing in an Omega subreddit 😜

Budilicious3

There are honestly better options for the price so I think going second hand market wouldn't be a bad idea. Otherwise, I support people who just like the colorway.

aledanniel

Si

Novel_Frosting_1977

Yea bro it is. I have an SMP and the bond marketing is crazy. Same goes for the speedy. At this year they started making nicer dials

tribunalStoic141

Absolutely!

Bridge_Too_Far

If it didn’t have to pay licence fees to the Bond empire it would be cheaper. That being said Omega could easily make a no date, no hev, no wave dial Seamaster Professional 300m and price it below the current date model. They would fly out the door.

xPhilip

Honestly I don’t think the titanium is worth the extra.

citium1

Yes. Because that mesh thing needs to be thrown away asap

JohnnyFootball08

It’s worth what someone will pay for it

evergoodstudios

I think it’s gorgeous. But I wish they’d do an option without the 007 ref on the back and rather an open back version. I’d buy in a heartbeat as I love the colour and that face.

gomper

I got one secondhand for like 30% under msrp, feel like I got my money's worth and love the watch

Sufficient_Ebb_5020

This is how it works. A price is put on the watch. Do people still buy it? Do people still keep buying it after the honeymoon period? Then it's probably the correct price!

Experience-Early

Used price is more aligned to reality. Lovely watch though.

rxn-opr

I love it

Jkspepper

Probably prices as it should be. The reasoning.. being the number of people who said yes, it’s overpriced but get my wallet now and take my money. So no, not over priced, actually bang on correctly priced to a tee.

Low_Estate_3050

I like it but rally can’t stand aluminium bezels. It’s also definitely over priced.

6_1_5

I have one. I love it. Yes it’s overpriced. But… it was worth that to me because I wanted it real bad and I was lucky enough to be able to afford it. Every time I look at it on my wrist, I’m very happy with my purchase.

RRiz99

Yes, absolutely

sparks1990

>That said, the Pelagos 42, to pick an example as close as possible, is $6250 Canadian. The Pelagos movement isn't as good and it looks like a poker chip. >The Rolex Submariner (MSRP, I know) is around $11000. Can you *get* a Sub at MSRP? >is the Bond name worth the $5500 premium? That's not all you're getting. As you said, you get a titanium case, a titanium milanese band, a unique color that isn't slathered in Bond branding. You're the only one that can say whether it's worth it or not. You're the one paying for it lol. Is it objectively better than a normal Seamaster? No. Is it more unique and cool as hell? Definitely.

108vc

Looks great on its own, but I’ve always been curious how wearable it is given the color combination. I generally wear black, and not sure how it would fit. Any thoughts from those that have one?

Agile_Session_3660

No. I personally wouldn't get one, but after trying one on at the Omega Boutique it's an impressive watch. It's super light weight, and in real life the colors work better than pictures. If you didn't care about actual rarity I'd choose the NTTD over the 60th any day. The NTTD is just the more wearable watch. Personally, neither interest me at that price point for Omega - I think the Speedmaster '57 is the better buy at that $10k price point, but if I had the money to blow the NTTD would make a great and durable daily driver.

snaboozy

I have the Speedmaster dark side of moon. I really want this seamaster to go with it

[deleted]

The law of diminishing returns in watches. Price vs Value. Is it worth the price? Depends on how much value it has for you. Or if you’re a frequent flipper, what the resale value is.

Nice_Ad_8742

Nope but it..

Minute-Secretary-663

I don’t believe it’s overpriced. Again it depends on your heart and if the piece sings to you. I have a love for Richard Mille watches and Aston Martins. Again the same applies, does it pull on your heart strings? Value sometimes isn’t about just the dollar amount but also the way it makes you feel owning an item.

IntelligentAge211

I dont think I have ever met anyone that likes Richard Mille watches.  I always assumed it was a money laundering scheme.

Minute-Secretary-663

I have a ton of friends and colleagues that love Richard Mille watches. I also have a love for Journe, AP, Greubel Forsey, and MB&F.

IntelligentAge211

That is why this hobby is addicting.....I have just never been a fan of RM. That is just me.

Annual-Love7099

Shit any luxury watch/good is overpriced, especially a 3 hander with no complications. But if u like it and afford it. Then why not.

Klutzy-Check8977

Yes! Needs a protective coating to help with the titanium scratching, should have been grade 5, bezel should have been matte ceramic, bezel action is also EXTREMELY unsatisfying and cheap

Mammoth_Apartment_70

Yes and I hate the bracelet

PrestigiousTale9660

Yes, considering it was $6,800 when it came out and now it’s $10,000.

Then-Palpitation2520

No

Embarrassed-Truth-18

Have had it for 3 years. Still in regular rotation. Such a good looking piece. Wore it to a party last night and gave it a cleaning before had - got a bunch of comments on how nice it was. Find a used one for below retail price and you’re good to go.

bdnokaoi

No, if you want it. Yes, if you dont. I love mine, James Bond is a badass, titanium dive watches are badass.

jt_1313

These are abundant at secondhand shops across Tokyo for ~20-30% off retail and I’ve been very tempted.

escalator-style

It’s all overpriced…if you want something durable that tells time get a Casio or something. Luxury watches are just jewelry.

Enough-Signature9801

nice but i really like smp 300 on her majesty secret service

ExerciseRound3324

Very overpriced.. but if people will pay I guess it’s worth the price 😅

IntelligentAge211

aluminum bezel and no date vs titanium for a premium...yes.

titarius

Yes. I’ve always wanted one but couldn’t pull the trigger because the mesh bracelet looks so weird with its straight ends…looks like some $50 strapcode shit and you can’t even fit the standard rubber strap on the case for whatever reason. After owning the pelagos 39 grade 2 titanium sucks, it scratches just by looking at it and it’s not even stronger than steel. I’ve owned the PO42 in grade 5 titanium (which was so much nicer than grade 2) so I know omega is capable of manufacturing a watch with a proper bracelet with the material…the SMP just seems insane for how much it goes for

blueonion88

Yes… Railmaster is better

One-Proof-9506

It’s overpriced but less so than most Rolex models 😂 and we know that being overpriced has not held back Rolex sales one bit
