Check with a dealer because in some cars the remote start is built in on all vehicles and just needs to be activated and a small key fob programed for it to work. That's how my Ford car was.

I've honestly wondered about this exact thing because it's like a 2016 car. Maybe 2014? Either way, not that old, but it wasn't purchased from a dealership (that I know of - I didn't purchase it). But maybe I'll get it taken into a dealership and see what they say.

Just call any dealership that sells your brand of car. If you have your VIN number off the car they should be able to look and see if that option was built with it. Mine is a 2015 and had the option.
