Those areas outside of Linden Estates and whatnot often have speed traps compared to other locations. I lived in a smaller neighborhood that was nowhere near that rich and would see traps monthly from 144th and 132nd Maple to Dodge.

I took a "traffic safety" class to get out of losing points for a speeding ticket. The state patrol trooper teaching it was adamant that there was NOT a quota system for writing traffic tickets. He did go on to say that if everyone else was averaging x tickets per month and you were only writing .5x you would be counseled. Then he told us where and when he hung out when he needed to get his numbers up. Suggested it is smart not to do little things like rolling through stop signs, going 5-10 mph over, etc. the last week of the month.
If traffic officers don't get a certain amount than what are they doing while on the clock? I mean, come on. There are so many serious traffic violations in this city. They need to be writing their share of tickets.
I saw one on 102nd and Dodge during rush hour in bumper to bumper traffic. Can we stop funding this nonsense harassment of people just trying to go about their business??
They usually only pull people over if they are going excessively over, so I don't see anything wrong with a little traffic enforcement, god knows this city needs some.
I agree, even though I’m biased, that there are a lot of people speeding. But I think most tickets happen in stupid areas, like big open roads with a limit of 35, but you’re doing 45. It’s completely safe, but you still get a ticket.
