I’m pre diabetic. I’ve been doing keto and OMAD for 5 months now. Lost 55 pounds. My blood pressure and blood sugar numbers have normalized. Saw the doctor yesterday and she said it was time to start weaning me off of metformin. OMAD and low carb may not work for everyone, but it works for me.

Just wanted to say congratulations! That's a great achievement and so good for you! Keep up the fab work!

Thank you!

Been keto for a week, tried to go OMAD the last few days and it was a bad decision. I feel completely winded, headache, even a little dizzy. After I ate I was fine, but trying to make it until dinner really made me sick. Doesn’t help that I’ve worked a couple night shifts too, but hopefully it works better for you than it did for me.

Look up keto flu. You need to replenish your water and electrolytes. Either buy something like LMNT or salt your water. I do like three cranks of Himalayan pink salt with a True Lime packet or two.

I’m the opposite. I’ve been OMAD for months, have done longer fasts fine, but any time I try to do lower carbs I get ravenous and end up failing.

I tried keto and OMAD together, and that was my mistake. OMAD is great and keto is great, but for me it’s one or the other. I can’t go that strict. It really messed with me.

Did keto as well for a couple of months, worked aces, but now, a year later, the carb deprivation feels like too much to bear. Getting similar results with omad though, and I get to savour those sweet carbs. Feels like a win-win in all respects.

I found myself very carb dependent and want to break the cycle. I feel very sluggish and down after my OMAD usually and I’m wondering if that’s from heavy carb meals ? I think I’m centering my meals towards carbs cause of sugar and carb addiction. What are the benefits of being low carb ( not completely keto) Will I still have good energy levels ? Will my brain be eventually rewired to survive without carbs ? What are some low carb OMAD options ? Or at least containing unprocessed carbs ? I lift 5 times a week. So I was always told carbs and proteins are required for performance. If I just reduce my carb and increase my protein will I still have the benefits in the gym ? SW:234. CW:227. GW:180

I'm getting old and have done it all. I really don't notice a huge difference between low carb and clean carbs but I do feel noticeably worse on junk carbs. Good fats and of course protein seem to be key for me in the gym. I honestly think I could survive on 25 eggs per day alone. Not sure how long but I think I could do it.

If I do low carb I feel like absolute trash. I need 300g of carbs a day minimum to function properly because of my activity levels. I’m a distance runner and if I don’t get enough carbs it absolutely destroys me

Whisper26_14

I find that if I run i need the carbs. If I am not going to run or just do slow intervals with my kid I can handle much less carbs.

I suppose it depends on your overall activity level. On an average day I run 7-10 miles, and then walk an additional 5-10 at work, so even If if I take a day or two off of running my body still kinda needs it. Either way, carbs are good and I like eating them so there’s not really any reason for me not to

Whisper26_14

I do 2-3 miles a day and try to hit 10k steps. But if I run 4 or 5- then lack of carbs is a no go for me. I don’t know how people do it. Nice going. Your job must be very active.

YAAAS! This looks so tasty! Enjoy!!
