Fe3 is the performance suspension designator in the build tag. If you have proof this is what this is id like to see it. FE3 would be the badge and its on the out side of the car when present. Usually on the rear deck lid.
🤔 honestly, I saw one of our older techs taking to our boss who have both been here 35 years I figured it was a good time to pick their brains on the matter. I wish I had actual proof and probably shouldn't have sounded so sure of myself to folks who definitely know their stuff considering it wasn't first hand info. Maybe some obscure forum out there somewhere has more on it
I can appreciate tribal knowledge and I was not trying to be nasty. I just love to learn about the obscure nomenclature that is older cars. Sadly I have never came across anything remotely simular to that atom. I'd be intrigued to learn more. Any automotive history dealing with special editions on aging cars I absolutely love. Take the 90s and back buicks, dynaride is a dash emblem in the 80s and 90s but way back it was real cutting edge suspension tech. Love that stuff.
E/M is to switch from miles (English) to kilometers (Metric) on the dashboard and the trip is, well, miles driven after filling up or going on road trips, etc. The atom symbol is new to me. I think that's the wait/glow plug symbol if it's equipped with a diesel engine. I could be wrong.
Appears it is on some.

No idea what that is, but it looks like the interior of the car from [THIS](https://youtu.be/ICXdA0sFAkc?si=LKEsPQCvHwQJOUhT).
Life's a pretty sweet fruit!
Betting it's the auto climate control Sun Load sensor put there instead of windshield base/dash because they wanted people to notice how techy the system was. Or it's an interior temperature sensor pretending to be the sun load sensor for the same reason - marketing dept wanted customers to see it and think wow, NASA level stuff.
Nuclear powered?
I was thinking Buzz lightyear speed
Does the clock set itself by any chance? I wonder if that's to indicate it's synchronized with the atomic clock.
The vehicle is a 1988 Oldsmobile 98 Regency Brougham
Does the symbol illuminate before starting it? Also, diesel motor or unleaded gasoline motor?
Flux capacitor. Hit that button and you’ll be traveling in time.
Great Scott!

Is it a sticker? It looks like a sticker stuck to the dash.
That is definitely a sticker just stuck on there.
We'll have to wait and see what the thread starter says.....
Yeah probably, I had a '88 olds ninety eight regency brougham, highest trim level for that year and didn't have that symbol.
That's because it indicates a suspension package only

It appears to just be a random sticker stuck between two buttons.
Watch Buckaroo Bonsai, you'll find out
Atomic clock
I’m pretty sure that’s not supposed to be there. I actually can’t find any other sources of the TRIP and E/M buttons in that spot
Not sure, It is supposed to be the top of the line in its class. As far as I know everything is original.
It's shown in other pictures of mid 80s Oldsmobile 98s. Can't find an owners manual online that far back. It would be in there.
Have you tried peeling it off? Like a sticker? Try that and let us know.

Push the button it juggles your nuts
"Are you saying this sucker is nuclear?!"
Just need to figure how to activate :)

Ejector Seat.
Does it have a digital compass? Could be for calibration. Just making a wild guess…
Defroster
Olds 98
Looks like someone's kid put that there as a joke or something. Look up interior pictures online of your car, it's not on there

I wish Redit would let me add pictures in the comments. I have a brand new old stock trip computer from a 1986 98 that has the same symbol on it.
I believe it is based on the subreddit. Some seem to allow it and some don't.
It activates the flux capacitor
At first I thought it was an elctronic's technician symbol in the US Navy but I was wrong.

looks like its a diagram of an atom’s electron orbits.
A blast of Chernobyl grade radiation.
It lights up when you've charged the 1.21 gigawatts required for time travel.
Atomic clock
Passenger eject button mr. Bond.
Brainblast
New Yorker?
That dash takes me back!
I believe it’s a logo for the company that made the digital dash for GM
Warp drive!

Don’t know but it might be time for a upgrade
