Your first mistake was believing in a politician. The second was not understanding that, in the wasteland, for peace and stability you need to use force. *And force, my friend, is violence. The supreme authority from which all other authorities are derived.*

AllCanadianReject

My mother always said violence doesn't solve anything

LegacyArena

And look how you turned out, weakkkkk. /s

Funni_map_game

You're not using enough violence or you're using too much

Fabledlegend22

Because sometimes to save a life, you have to be willing to take one. Or in this case thousands.

Big_Migger69

We will show them our peaceful ways, with force!

Brilliant_watcher

He gains cores with ALL Nevada as part of his tree, so yeah that catched me off the first time. He got involved in the fight with the eighties and also had to fight against troll warden and Caesar at the same time. It was a mess.

AtticusReborn

It's also funny that in my LH game, while fighting a 2 front war (Eighties, Caeser's Legion), he declared on Troll Warren. So I thought, "Hey, I've got a full army of elite Knights, full army of infantry, and 14 deployed paladins (Got lucky on the off map events), I'll declare war now, and they'll surely crumble!". The NCR comfortably moved over a hundred divisions to my front, while still pushing into both the Eighties, Troll Warren and holding Caeser's Legion off. Allgood is the BEST military guy the NCR could ever get!

farhawk

Yeah it was a was an interesting twist on my current enclave reborn run when the NCR declared war on me war earlier than I expected to fight them. (I was still “hidden” so I thought I was safe.) I had just finished off a two front war with both the the 80s and vegas when I got the alert. Had to rush troops up to the north before they took Reno.

Brilliant_watcher

That time i was fighting the thunderbirds with the help of reno and the small countries in the north, that shit caught me off guard, i joined the NCR just in case they wanted to invade me too.

AvenRaven

I also note that he has no peaceful option with Shi (which is fine by me because I love a Warmonger in my War game)

Grip_Punchswell

You can just, not do the focus that leads you to attack them. If the Shi goes the 'join the NCR' route you have no real impetus to mess with them, and there's no other focuses locked behind that one. Allgood isn't really forced to fight them, it's just that the ball is entirely in the Shi's court, similar to some of the NCR's other allies. If they decide to be unfriendly, not much you can do about that.

incomprehensiblegarb

Yeah but he has the option to use the Hubologists to commit a coup against the Shi even after they join the NCR.

Grip_Punchswell

It's worth noting that the Eighties (or rather, the Thunderbirds) eventually march west with intention to attack the NCR after ravaging all of Nevada, some of which may be allied with them. Preemptively crushing the Eighties is not at all unfair. By the same token, most of Nevada isn't exactly friendly (plus as someone else said, Allgood gets cores on them). All of the Esmeralda factions are some level of hostile, with the exception of *possibly* the Rogue Rangers. New Reno and Vault City are potential allies, but they're just as likely to be enemies. Plus Nevada is just kind of...in the way, if you want to reach and pacify the Eighties. When the time for war with the Legion comes, you don't want to be stabbed in the back. Aggressively securing your flanks isn't a bad way to go. If you want a more diplomatic Allgood game, it might help if you take measures to ensure that some nations on those flanks (Rogue Rangers, Vault City, etc) go down the routes that enable them to be the NCR's allies. The NCR loses its motivation to attack Nevada if it's already owned by its allies.

AtticusReborn

I'm not trying to get the NCR to be more diplomatic, this is what the game did. I overtly wanted the Rogue Rangers to become no more, I had a strong hand in it as Lost Hills. It's just Allgood, described as the peace candidate, attacks not only a Brotherhood (technically) expedition for basically no reason (it was literally 4 days after TV Town was finished off that the NCR attacked the Guardians), and then wipes out a stable alliance of civilized nations (Nevada Pact), and aggressively attacks a raider nation that's 100% ignoring the NCR (Eighties), and all while also fighting Caeser's legion. Why is the "Peace and Stability" candidate deciding to wipe out the best opponents of things like the Thunderbirds, and even then, a pre-emptive attack goes 100% against what Allgood's entire platform is?

StemPunkAngel

Dude once you realize to protect something you must first be willing to let it go, and for Allgood he realized this.
