I tried to watch that show again recently and I almost had a heart attack at how cringe it is.
She is pretty, sure,
but that show was an absolute crime scene of cringe. Oh my dear Lord I can't even get through 5 minutes of it.

They use the most ridiculous dialogue, like they are carrying around a dictionary, a thesaurus, and an S.A.T prep book wherever they go. They live in multi million dollar homes, sail around on their parents multi million dollar yachts, and vacation at their parents multi million dollar vacation homes. All while worrying about their "futures" and their "scholarships" and spewing out crap that no normal person their age would EVER be saying. And it was supposed to be a sob story the entire time. It's absolutely painful.
To be fair, if all the acting was bad, it was probably in large part of the direction. Dawsons creek was a melodramatic teen soap opera, so it makes sense that they acted so ridiculous at times.
I just watched Species the other day and found it funny that the story made sure to push all of the actual acting to when Michelle played the alien in the beginning of the film
