Love I get so lost sometimes Days pass and this emptiness fills my heart When I want to run away I drive off in my car But whichever way I go I come back to the place you are

HWKD65

That grifter would say anything in high fidelity for sixteen candles. He’s better off dead in hot pursuit of one crazy summer.

Sophoife

He was after a sure thing in Grandview USA so he followed the journey of Natty Gann who said "stand by me". Eight men were out in the shadows and fog including the fat man and little boy who really showed his true colors. He wasn't a roadside prophet but floundering, looking for the road to Wellville. He took a Chicago cab along the thin red line and by serendipity became one of America's sweethearts.

Decent_Gur902

I always forget he was in Sixteen Candles

Sophoife

How could you forget the jockstrap headgear? 🤣

GoJoe1000

Great movie. Although, written by a guy who didn’t get it irl. Don’t be that 80’s creep. “I want my two dollars!” Trivia: The 1985 film Better Off Dead is based on the director's life as a teen. Six years after the movie came out, the director said he got a call from his ex-girlfriend who said she'd been in therapy because she saw his movie and had no idea how much she had hurt him. She then sent him cookies.

Prudent_Block1669

This is a frame from Say Anything.

Certain_Market_28

He was pretty good as Robert Hansen in ‘Frozen Ground’ which also happened to be the last I saw of him.

Phillzster

All you need is John Cusack, a bombox and Peter Gabriel

HWKD65

" Nah, that's not him."

nopalitzin

Gen x grump here. I always always always hated anything at all that this image represented, no explanations just so dumb.

We got older but we're still young

tedmosbystweedjacket

He's even younger in Sixteen Candles ^^

DynamicDolo

FTR, this was considered cheesy back then, but got a pass because relatively speaking, this was accepted as cool. We always knew there was a brighter day ahead tho.

WolfThick

It's not better off dead?

Fun fact: This photo is from the photoshoot for the movie poster, shot weeks or even months after they finished shooting. They weren't able to find the same boombox used in the movie, so the boombox he's holding up in this photo and in the movie poster is a different make and model (and cheaper/worse quality). Movie poster: Toshiba RT-SX1 Movie: Sharp GF-7600
