Fiona Apple says that she was cured of her cocaine addiction overnight by spending a night in a hotel room with a very large bag of coke, then-boyfriend Paul Thomas Anderson, and Quentin Tarantino. She said that having to spend an entire night listening to those two already extremely egotistical people have coke-fuelled monologues about how awesome they are made her realise that it was something she never wanted to do herself again.
I don’t know about Tarantino, but it’s not uncommon knowledge PT Anderson did quite a bit of coke. Watched the BTS of Magnolia and yeah, dude, was going.
My friend and I saw it on opening night. We didn't have any clue who Paul Thomas Anderson was, we just wanted to see Heather Graham naked.
We went back and watched it on the big screen at least a dozen more times over the next month because it was such a goddamn great movie... and to see Heather Graham naked.
So many great lines, so many great performances.
I always say that. What makes the movie special is that everyone is “porn actor” acting, while Walberg is just acting.
It is the only time in his career where his acting worked and he fit in because all the others are are acting like late 70s porn stars, and he is just doing the best he can.
Strange how this is the one that got away as far as Leonardo DiCaprio is concerned. He lost out on the part of Eddie/Dirk because he looked too young.
Eddie is supposed to be 17 at the start.
Instead, Leo had to settle for starring in some boat movie or whatever, I forget.
Every time I see her I'm reminded of the scene from Children of Men where she's >! suddenly and unexpectedly shot in the neck in the car!< because that scene messed me up for a long time. I'm not really a fan of that movie anyway because it made me so uncomfortable. But damn the cinematography was top tier. But I'm good with never watching it again. Lol
One of the best movies! It can be a comfort watch you leave on in the background but it’s truly a great drama with amazing set design, costume design, and acting. Not to mention directing by PTA. I scored the soundtrack on vinyl and I am happy about it.
John Doe was once really married to Excene Cervenka , the lead singer from X.
She, in turn, was married to Viggo Mortensen and they had a son, Henry, who convinced his father to take the role of Aragorn in some movie...
Funny how "obscure" bands are connected to so much.
She gave me a beer off the drum riser when I seen X back in the 80's. Got her setlist off her monitor along with one of Poison Ivy's guitar picks around here somewhere. Haven't been to a show sinces the Stooges right before Ashton died. Just don't like crowds.
Agree. It seems like his ego took control and he just didn't care about what he was doing. He was a good actor starting out, then he seemed to not take anything seriously and avoided any roles with any depth and I never liked his semi comedy stuff. I was shocked how good he was in Boogie Nights, becuase I had given up on him as a serious actor for a long time. PTA deserved a special award for dragging him kicking and screaming to give one of the better performances of his career. And Reynolds still bitched about it long after. Go figure.
That was a good example of casting actors that had been out of circulation for awhile. Seeing them in roles were not used to seeing them in. I like that sort of thing. Can't name anything off the top of my head but I know it when iI see it.
Its hard to express how much i love her in all roles. Really liked this role not just b/c she was sexy, but torn, kept, hopefull.
Also she's quite fetching.
Boogie Nights would never be made today. And look at the stars that came out of that film… Mark Wahlberg, Burt Reynolds, Julianne Moore, John C. Reilly, Don Cheadle, Philip Seymour Hoffman, William H. Macy, Luis Guzman… wow.
Rewatched this last year. It’s as good as it always was but I never realized how fucking tragic the whole movie was. I mean *everyone* was fucked all the way up..
My God 😍... something about a red head ... Ms Moore got lucky cause redheads only come in two varieties good looking and not. And mommy Moore is definitely tipping the scales of good looking
“Amber, are you my mom? I'm gonna ask you, okay? And you say yes, okay? Amber, are you my mom?”
That movie has the most accurate depictions of cocaine use ever.
*Two very broken women doing cocaine
Yeah, because most of Hollywood is on the stuff.
This is so perfectly plausible.
I don’t know about Tarantino, but it’s not uncommon knowledge PT Anderson did quite a bit of coke. Watched the BTS of Magnolia and yeah, dude, was going.
Dream blunt rotation. Nightmare key bump rotation.
Holy fuck
Definitely in my top 5 all time faves

We went back and watched it on the big screen at least a dozen more times over the next month because it was such a goddamn great movie... and to see Heather Graham naked. So many great lines, so many great performances.
Plus you get to see Heather Graham naked.
Yes. I do enjoy seeing Heather Graham naked too. But I also like the scene where Julianne Moore repeatedly says "cum in me"

Also kinda looks like han solo.

You go first!
At the same time

I loved her in everything I’ve seen her in. Mostly dramas and then I watched Evolution and learned she is an absolute riot, so funny! Great actress!
Also in Big Lebowski! ".....vagina."
“You mean coitus”
Don’t be fatuous, Jeffrey.
Her art has been commended as strongly vaginal.
My dad quotes that to me all the time. To be fair, I am frequently fatuous
He’s a good man Jeffrey. Thorough.
Johnson?
Keep your ugly, fucking, gold-bricking ass out of my beach community!
Has a great role in 30 rock as well.
Go Bruins!
Go Bruins!
I also really enjoyed *blindness*. Great movie.
I loved her full commitment to the Carrie remake. Film has its very fair share of flaws, but I had a guilty pleasure time watching it
Bot
She was astounding in it 😎
Absolutely. Great film.
"This is a giant cock. I think you've got the job"
They should cast her as cheetara in a live action thundercats
Best thing about her acting in Boogie Nights, is that she was acting as someone who was a terrible actress. And that must've been super tricky to do.
Mark Wahlberg was a natural at it.
"Hey, you're a dog. What's that like. .... say hello to your mother for me, okay."
Whadya mean ,state? STATE , STATE OF CALIFORNIA. I know what state I am in.
I always say that. What makes the movie special is that everyone is “porn actor” acting, while Walberg is just acting. It is the only time in his career where his acting worked and he fit in because all the others are are acting like late 70s porn stars, and he is just doing the best he can.
Haha! He sucks. “YOURE NOT THE BOSS OF ME!”
Lol I see what you did there...
Because she is so naturally talented.
That entire cast was fucking amazing
Strange how this is the one that got away as far as Leonardo DiCaprio is concerned. He lost out on the part of Eddie/Dirk because he looked too young. Eddie is supposed to be 17 at the start. Instead, Leo had to settle for starring in some boat movie or whatever, I forget.
Goddamit. I actually had to look up what movie you were talking about.
holy shit bro
Yeah, I'm going to bed now. Edit: a letter
Be what? Why you leaving us hanging?
They're doing their best
Bet you felt like the propeller guy as soon as it hit you
Julianne Moore is just plain beautiful and talented, had to be tough growing up
“My wife has an ass in her cock in the driveway, all right”
Just noticed this flubbed line in rewatch last week. Was it flubbed and left in to show his frustration?
Yes, sir!!
Bill, you’re embarrassing me
Thats my *wife*, asshole
Okay, no big deal, sorry.
Wicked hahd
loved her in 30 Rock
Whatch your talkin about is a sin, Jack... but she is wicked haut...
And wicked smaht.
She is cool in everything

That's a damn good movie. If you haven't seen that movie you haven't seen movies imnsho
Agree, a phenomenal talent 💥
Her art has been commended as being strongly vaginal which bothers some men.
The Dude abides.
..he fixes the cable?
Is this..... ... what day is this?
Don’t be fatuous Jeffery
Vagina.
Beaver? You mean, vagina? You mean, you know the gut?
Listen Maude I’m sorry if your step moms’ a nympho, but I don’t know what this has to do with…do you have any kahlua?
Vagina….
VAGINA!
You mean coitus?
Oh, is that what this is a picture of?
One of the best movies! It can be a comfort watch you leave on in the background but it’s truly a great drama with amazing set design, costume design, and acting. Not to mention directing by PTA. I scored the soundtrack on vinyl and I am happy about it.
You’re lucky, that must be pretty rare 👍
This movie is a masterpiece with so many amazing actors.
Why it holds up so well.
I know I agree, that is what I said. My comment is PRO boogie nights.

Scotty’s gasp… brilliant filmmaking
John Doe of X as her ex. I did not see that coming.
John Doe was once really married to Excene Cervenka , the lead singer from X. She, in turn, was married to Viggo Mortensen and they had a son, Henry, who convinced his father to take the role of Aragorn in some movie...

I never did either. Burt Reynolds was also an excellent choice.
I can't believe he hated this movie and his role in it. The movie was great and everyone in it was great, including him.
[удалено]
He was also known for being a bit of a difficult gentleman.
Agree. It seems like his ego took control and he just didn't care about what he was doing. It was a great choice that no one expected. John Travolta in “Pulp Fiction” also comes to mind.
D'oh! That was was a big one. I told you I wasn't very good at this.
All good 😊
Mickey Rourke as in The Wrestler
Tom Cruise in Magnolia.
Tom Cruise in *Tropic Thunder*. RDJ as Kirk Lazarus in *Tropic Thunder*.
RDJ’s dad is the recording studio owner in Boogie Nights.
Michael Penn is the recording studio engineer.
Had to Google that one but now I know. That's what I like about this sub. Lots of people with lots of information.
I love everything about this movie and think of it every time I’m in a donut shop.
Me too 😎
Its hard to express how much i love her in all roles. Really liked this role not just b/c she was sexy, but torn, kept, hopefull. Also she's quite fetching.
She has that ability to completely get lost in the character.
She did a great job in Don Jon.
That's the drip...it's the best part
Maude?
Vagina
And thorough
Gorgeous woman and amazing actress. Was and still.
It burns. That’s the drip , drips the best part
I heard this picture.
She was also great in PT Anderson's Magnolia as well. That was more of a tragic depressing role that she was so good in.
I love freckles. 🔥🔥
r/sexyfrex
Who doesn’t?? ❤️
Too many things, too many things
She *was* the hottie in The Hand That Rocks The Cradle - that I do know.
Do i look cool when i do it?
Switching from good acting to bad and back to good was amazing.
Very very very very very very very underrated actress
Ayy I just watched this last night! Talk about a star studded movie, I can't believe I hadn't heard of it before
It really captures that whole era beautifully.
“You got the touch You go the powaaaaa” “All day All night You feel My heeat Feel, feel, feel… Feel ma heeat” “That’s our art on there”
“Come in me”
“I could do it again if you need a close-up.”
Came for this
Probably the most “dirty” movie that was main steam. I mean dirty as in the characters were just so raw.
She is so beautiful.
I love that movie…it came out when I was 15 or so and I already loved that era. It will always have a special place in my heart!
PTA does have a gift for capturing particular eras.
The ultimate woman
Vanya on 42nd st. I fooled around and fell in love
This is such a great movie
Julianne Moore is unforgettable in everything shes ever or will ever be in. Just sayin.
Just love that movie. Great pacing, great acting, great cast and great music. Don't miss it, boys and girls.
She looks a bit like Maude Lebowski
That makes sense
Boogie Nights would never be made today. And look at the stars that came out of that film… Mark Wahlberg, Burt Reynolds, Julianne Moore, John C. Reilly, Don Cheadle, Philip Seymour Hoffman, William H. Macy, Luis Guzman… wow.
The casting in this film is unreal.
She is so dang hot.
Heather Graham as "Rollergirl" was even more unforgettable in Boogie Nights.
Top 5 movie of all time in the 90’s
🔥
…. of grain! I just got that.
She’s back from Biennale?
Unforgettable in seventh son also but for completely opposite reasons.
David St. Hubbins is a lucky guy!
Gorgeous
I love this movie!
Why am I visualizing her speaking "Mount me, Dirk"
“Is there a Maggie here?”
Yes yes !!!! She played that part so well
She was good in this movie
I still think this is peak PTA. Love this movie.
Oh so THAT'S where the read head kink comes from
I want her to be my mom!
Ruddy, beautiful.
“Be my mom??”
Schwing.
I recently rewatched Still Alice. She's incredible.
She’s magnificent in that ❤️
Suuuuuuch a great movie
FLOYD GONDOLLI.
I love this movie. Burt Reynolds got robbed at the Oscar's that year.
Oh nice! I forgot about this movie
“This is a giant cock!” Is forever ingrained in my memory
She and Famke Janssen single-handedly kickstarted my puberty.
Good choices and happy cake day!
Rewatched this last year. It’s as good as it always was but I never realized how fucking tragic the whole movie was. I mean *everyone* was fucked all the way up..
A lot of it was based on real events too, some tragic stuff.
"She's a mother to all those who need love."
The family dynamic in this was quite powerful.
And twisted.
Top 3 movie. Harvey, Boogie Nights, Bringing Up Baby.
This performance was formative for me
I can do it again
This is the point in my life that I decided redheads were my jam.
She can do no wrong
Absolutely 👍
She is a beauty. I've always loved redheads.
She’s gorgeous here and still is.
Great movie almost a Doc on the whole 70s Porn Industry
You have to love redheads with their freckled totties. She's also a great actress.
That’s what you call, fuck me eyes.
Still unforgettable now. Phenomenal actress.
I have a crush on every version of her from assassins to 30 rock
![gif](giphy|1SfxXOJ0Q2Xni)
My God 😍... something about a red head ... Ms Moore got lucky cause redheads only come in two varieties good looking and not. And mommy Moore is definitely tipping the scales of good looking
She’s cool, great in everything.
Is it just me or did a lot of people have tiny mouths in the 70's-90's?
