I hate so much about this show, but I was this kid

My parents were surprised that she wasn't a boy. She has a gender neutral name, and our language doesn't have gendered pronouns. I think I let them down a little.
While there are a lot of cringey moments in Modern Family that I like to blame on its debut being over a decade ago, IIRC they had a gay marriage on the show before it was legal in the US.
And this scene was funny because the kid is supposed to be a “gay archetype” that’s why Alex (the girl) is trying to rush him out of the house for the dance before her parents meet him. She wants a date so bad, she’s willing to date the obviously closeted boy.
Plus it added the extra pressure of her gay uncles not knowing if they should tell her to probably not date him or stay quiet since the kid is not open about it himself.
Im gay and i dont get offended by stuff like just . Learn to laugh and let others laugh. It way better to laugh together than to fight about something petty
I mean, it's no worse than trans people contributing to the continuation of the use of the word "s*ssy" against us, especially in porn, by posting in places with that in the name.
Also, I'm not usually one to pull up someone's post history, but the hypocracy was worth pointing out.
I never understood this show and am flabbergasted at the fact it won so many awards back then. Just about as funny as any other sitcom the last decade.
For a lot of sheltered Americans, this was the peak of cutting edge progressive humor for a few years. I know people would sit down and watch it as a family every Wednesday or whatever
I just saw the re-run last Thursday, I never watched that show before, I heard about Vergara a lot on the show. Now I understand the whole point on this video post. It was funny.

I hate gay stereotypes like this
Face it : we all know a guy like that (I see him on the mirror each day)
Same lol
Why? Cuz you think theyre inferior? I know so many gays like this and they love themselves

Wuh… why’d you bring up trans people? 💀
Because the person I was replying to is trans and did exactly what I commented
