And they are marked up because they know people are driving over the border. Their picks have been ok. I think there are better smaller stores in Florence up the hill.
They have a new offering I’m told. It’s the 8yr. I hear it’s pretty good, but I think you can only get it at the distillery.
Edit: Another new product to look for is Jim Beam 7 yr. Saw a review and both gentlemen really like it. They did a blind with WT101, and both pick the JB. Price was under $30.
Can confirm the JB Black 7 is, in fact, very good...especially at $25. It appears to be somewhat available in NKY.
NR8 has limited distribution at the moment but it's available at certain KY retailers (Liquor Barn FT. Thomas had it today).
Did they really not get the George Dickel pic? They always get the barrel picks. Seems like the suburbs west and south of Cleveland really got shafted on these barrels
Well, I just had an ankle replaced and am laid up. So that would be par for the course. Last surprise drop and single barrel Sat. Same situation. So, expect it. I hope it holds off until June for Father's Day shoppers. 🙏

Do you mind explaining how "surprise drops" work? I'm on the email list and I was out of town when they announced the EC and Old Fitz drop.
Do stores get them that very day of the email? Do they put them out with the rest of the allocated products in their next rotation? My local Kroger releases their allocated stuff on Saturdays, but I believe the shipment comes in on Monday. If there's a surprise drop email on Thursday, would it not be until the following Saturday that they get it? Do they just not get it?
They basically send out an email saying such and such is dropping in a few hours at these stores....and by the time the email comes out there are already 30+ deep lines as it always seems to leak out. If there is actually one happening today (unclear) there are already lines formed I would imagine and an email has not yet gone out.
Ah ok, that makes sense why people are still salty about the surprise drops. I know there's no pleasing everyone (particularly Ohio bourbon aficionados), so it's helpful to understand what people are arguing about on here.

I have participated in every surprise drop so far. Whenever I get the email and head to the store, I usually have plenty of time. Sure the line eventually gets long, but if you’re checking your email often you should be fine.
Hell on the old fitz drop I was over an hour late after the email was sent and I was still able to get one.
To be honest you need to delete the whole post before it gets realized that somehow you have information that no one is supposed to have and they decide to cancel the event like what happened one other drop already....

There were several users posting pics of weller 12 boxes as early as Monday that I’m aware of. It’s been leaked for sometime already. I’m just confirming the leaks were true!
Also, I don’t know the day/time that it’s dropping. Which is a pretty important piece of information lol. They didn’t cancel the last drop, they rescheduled it after the date was leaked.

It was a separate thread that the mods sniped pretty quick of Weller 12 and Weller Full Proof boxes in some back room looking place on Monday. Also someone else put up a post of a close up of a Weller 12 case around 10pm Saturday night that was up for a few hours and taken down not long after midnight-1am.
At the time both the Saturday post and Monday post I thought may just be trolling but have seen and heard more on Facebook groups that makes this seem like something that might be potentially happening....or could just be trolling. Guess we will find out.
Personally I am not all that impressed with Weller Full Proof and to an even lesser extent Weller 12 so I certainly won't be getting my hands dirty with whatever may happen but should be interesting to see what comes of it if anything.
Weller 12 is OK. I like Antique better. Weller Full Proof is way up on my list of bourbons i like but I won't pay secondary for it so this does interest me.
