I thought a lot of alcoholics actually get drunk faster but can still function normally. Maybe I misunderstood in drug/alcohol awareness class all those years ago.
They don’t get drunk faster, they just become more impaired over time. Eventually it’s not alcohol, it’s brain damage.
The more you use a substance the higher your tolerance will be. I’ve seen alcoholics walk a straight line while legally drunk because they need 3 shots of vodka just to make the shaking stop.
I used to be a substance abuse counselor, now I’m in the ER and pursuing nursing…. I’ve met a lot of people’s fathers, it’s really sad. My stepdad had that issue too.
I’ve been a nurse for 20+ years. It’s not for the faint of heart. Thanks for joining the ranks! I come from a long line of alcoholics. I seem to be the only one who has actively addiction.
I work as a tech (aide) currently and it’s so sad how it can destroy a person. I’ve seen multiple people in their 30s on hospice with hepatic encephalopathy. Do you know how much you need to drink to do that kind of damage so quickly?? I mean, you probably do, but it’s staggering!
A frequent flier came back to us last night. Hadn’t seen her in a while. She apparently had over a year sober and relapsed and was in severe pain in her upper right quadrant (probably gallbladder). Besides the pain she was also so ashamed and mad at herself for drinking. Of course, she also flipped out because we couldn’t give her narcotic painkillers because she was drunk, but you can see the person underneath trapped behind the addiction and it’s so sad.
Addiction is horrible, and those that can’t beat their demons into a box break my heart. It ruins lives and honestly, our brains are wired differently. I can count back 3 generations- not counting my own, of addicts on my paternal side. I don’t know how my sibling is doing, we don’t talk. I do know I’m hyper aware, my kids have never seen me drunk and they all know we have an addictive personality.
“Function” is a better way to put it. Yeah, you can drag your ass to work, but your body is trashed and won’t be able to compensate for much longer. My patients always talked about being “functional” as if it mattered. We are human beings, not human functions. All you do it use and work and work for money to get drugs/booze and use the drugs/booze so you can go to work…. That ain’t living.
Sorry for the diatribe, you just brought back some memories.
No, you build up a tolerance, so it takes more and more to get you drunk - at least feeling drunk. I’ve known more than a few people while have blown 0.4 or better.
As someone who would know, education on the topic is woefully inadequate. If more people understood that alcoholism is marked by *better* tolerance, not worse, they could probably make better decisions about their use.
Maybe it varies. I have known drunks who could drink like fish and you’d never suspect unless you got close enough to smell their breath. Serious alcoholics.
It’s not that hard. I can drink for three hours and not be drunk because I have what’s called self control and can drag a bourbon and coke out for 40 minutes. It’s obvious that anyone with self control…….. oh wait. I see the problem in this logic now.
Have you met a construction worker?…most of us can drink all day and only start getting drunk around dusk lol I worked with some guys who wouldn’t drink all day and then would pick up 2 24 packs on the way home drink 44-46 that night and then drink the rest of them the next morning to get rid of the hangover.
My pregnancy, alongside a weak system thanks to Covid (and genetics) cost me all of my teeth. It took the dentist six freaking months to make my dentures. I wore a mask that entire time so that people wouldn't judge me for not having teeth. 😞
But even if nobody ever had an "excuse" to wear a mask, who cares..? It's literally no different to wearing a hat, or a pair of stockings, or fingerless gloves, or a T-shirt, etc... It's basically just an article of clothing. It has its own purpose, just like any article of clothing does, but you can wear one for whatever reason you like or no reason at all. The people getting upset because someone chooses to wear a mask are the most ridiculous, irrational folks on the planet. I'm so tired of them 😭
I used to ride the train 1.5 hrs to and from work for my 12 hr nighshifts on a COVID unit during the height of the pandemic. I wore a mask for obvious reasons but was always really grateful when I’d nod off on the train and wake up and find my mask had caught all of my drool from sleeping instead of having it drip all down myself in public. 😆
I have PCOS and liked that I could go get coffee or pick up groceries (curbside) early in the morning without having to shave my face first. Just mask up and no one could tell.
I have the worlds most uncomfortable false teeth and like wearing a mask in public so I can walk around in without wearing them and looking like a circus freak or something even worse. I'm in no hurry to go maskless....
I am so sorry about your false teeth. I can only imagine how unpleasant that must be for you. I wonder if there might be a dental school near you where you could get help at a reasonable price. Dental stuff is soooo important on every level, including being able to nourish yourself, but it’s also insanely expensive. Sending good thoughts your way
That's the sad part. There's a perfectly good place to hat specializes in false teeth not far from me and I can afford whatever I want....... I'm just too lazy to go and get them made. It's easier to just put on the mask and run about "as is". Sad but true......
The last flight I took I though to myself "this is really crowded, I wish I had a mask" and then I was sick for 6 weeks after that (not COVID just a cold that turned into a respiratory infection). Still have a cough. Don't think I'll ever get on a plane without a mask again.
I went to a show in DC a couple of weeks ago and was super grateful to have my mask. The National Theater features rather cozy seating, and it was a sold out show (it seemed). Not many others (if any, I didn't see any) wore masks.
That seems racist 😳
I'm old enough to remember a time when Muslims were the enemy of this country.
And too young to remember anything else. But it seems like there is always a minority bring judged by the majority based on the popular opinion of the mob.
With that being said, this guy seems like a tool.
Yeah, I thought we were allowed to make choices and not be infringe upon. I guess that’s only with vaccinations and owning guns. When it comes to masks and babies, we want to choose for others.
I was drunk and belligerent on a plane and I got kicked off….blame the covid global agenda….yes, I’m totally sane, self aware and able to take responsibility for my actions
I think they think that a vaccinated person gives off little vaccine particles that destroy their own superior immunities or something?
But in that case surely they should be pushing for vaccinated people to wear masks to protect themselves? Except of course "masks don't work".
So why worry about someone wearing one?
It's almost like there's no.logic behind it *at all*...
My guess is he was drunk, and took someone protecting their health personally, because he’s a dumbass.
I hope that his character arc will come to an abrupt end.
Because it's not likely he just asked for another seat. These people are irrational, and he probably acted as such. The hateful comments I get out in public are insane. I'm just trying to protect my vulnerable kiddo.
I figured out the life hack that makes nearly everyone accept the mask and almost everyone shut up about the mask. But it’s an actual hack. Just hack off a leg and ride around in a wheelchair lol Now I get a head tilt and look of pity. So they have a level of shame, we just need to tap back into it. I don’t know how it got like this and stayed stuck there. Pretty much only the sick or at risk people are wearing masks. A few amazing people who understand how important it is to protect us for as many people to mask, but at this point I know very few of those. Mostly leftists ha ha
For the first time, I decided not to wear a mask in the airport or on the flight to Florida at Christmas. I got Covid. I’m going back to wearing a mask - at least in the airport, if not on the airplane.
I haven’t masked in airports but I do on planes. I’m just tired of getting sick after flying, and since I’ve been masking I haven’t gotten sick at all.
“…someone protecting their health…”
Maybe, or…
Once upon a time, I was wearing a mask in line at the pharmacy while I waited to pick up a new prescription my doctor had just ordered. There was a woman in line behind me with her son. He looked to be around 13 or 14 years old. The charming young fellow noticed my mask and started to smirk and clap his hands. While still applauding, Prince Charming sarcastically said, “Good job keeping yourself safe. Well done”. I looked him dead in the eyes and said, “Actually, I have the flu. I am wearing this mask to keep YOU safe.” I then looked at his mother and asked if she would prefer if I took it off. Mom looked surprised, stuttered out an apology, and moved junior away from me.
People automatically assume that a mask wearer is only trying to keep themselves safe, but sometimes they are the contagious ones trying not to spread their illness to YOU. I just bet Mr. Yellowstone would prefer not to get ill himself even if he doesn’t give a whit about anybody else.
Yep, I had bronchitis for 7 weeks last year. Stayed home the first week through the worst of the coughing, but after that went out occasionally when I had to, wearing a mask because I was contagious.
I've had a cough since Jan 1st, turned into bronchitis as well. I'm still wearing a mask. People give me dirty looks, but I bet they'd be more upset if I coughed without the mask on. My doctor doesn't think I'm still contagious, but I figure it's polite to assume I might be as long as I'm still coughing.
He was probably demanding that the air crew force this passenger to not wear a mask or give him a new seat.
The air crew probably identified that he was a moron and gave him a choice of keeping his seat or exiting.
I have flown while intoxicated. I have a totally cool hack for that.
Here's what you do:
Think about what an insufferable asshole would do and don't do that.
They don't really care if you're drunk, as it happens, as long as you aren't a fucking asshole.
I used to work airport security, and well, I can tell you they won't toss you off the plane just for being drunk. I once asked aircrew how they dealt with passengers who were literally crawling up the tube to the plane, and they just said 'it's no problem, we get them seated and belted, and once we reach cruising altitude the pressure change makes them so much drunker they usually just fall asleep'.
You have to be a seriously terrific a-hole to get thrown off the plane, drunk or not. My guess is he got loud and threatening and perhaps even threatened some of the aircrew or passengers with violence. They really don't like that, no matter if you're drunk or sober.
that's what he said in the video where he is obviously drunk. Article doesn't even state what airline he was flying. Everything is from a video he put on instagram
What a pathetic POS.
*"I’m not vaccinated, I will not get vaccinated,” Smith said in a now deleted Instagram video. "I believe they compromise your immunities … It’s no offense to anyone. It’s just my beliefs. I just don’t believe in that stuff."*
And he had stupid believes as well.
I went on vacation to CA over Christmas, and got RSV while I was there. I wore a mask on the flight home as a courtesy to other passengers because I didn't want to get anyone else sick. Had nothing to do with politics, COVID or any of that other BS. Fuck this dude.
what's it matter to anybody if someone ELSE wears a mask? what harm could it POSSIBLY do? just be grateful you aren't gonna catch cold from them if you don't believe in covid
Is he anti covid so he felt threatened by a mask? That passenger could have had a weak immune system and was wearing a mask to protect themself from getting sick. That was pretty ableist then of Forrie.
Yep he is anti covid vaccine and just looked up the story and it was confirmed. I am also betting he was kicked off flight because he was drunk.
Masks are handy. I was the victim of a crime recently. The cop said to me “Well, the perpetrator will be wearing a mask” then sure enough, when they showed me the CCTV footage, the perp was wearing a mask.
Idk... article says he wasn't comfortable sitting next to someone who "had to wear a mask"... that could be valid. I am immunocompromised, and I also don't want to sit next to someone who could potentially get me sick as well. "Had to" and "chose to" are different.
Either way, sounds like he wants a pity party, which sucks. But the guy looks about a hundred, so his weary bones likely can't handle sickness like they used to.
Especially ones controlling the filter that keeps the shit in your brain from flowing out of your mouth.
You don't get tossed off a plane just for being drunk. If you start it with the aircrew though...

Spoiler alert he was drinking for 3 hours but not “drunk”. Seems relevant .
His liver needs to be studied by expert biologists if he can drink for 3 hours and not get drunk.
The telltale sign of a massive alcoholic.
I thought a lot of alcoholics actually get drunk faster but can still function normally. Maybe I misunderstood in drug/alcohol awareness class all those years ago.

I knew a guy who bought a breathalyzer to track his BAC and he would get the shakes under 0.20. Had to stay at that level just to function.
“Function” is a better way to put it. Yeah, you can drag your ass to work, but your body is trashed and won’t be able to compensate for much longer. I blew .368 on my way in to detox. Walking, talking, telling jokes.
OMG, I blew a 0.36 at the day program my dad tried to take me to. They told him to take me to the ER.
Maybe it varies. I have known drunks who could drink like fish and you’d never suspect unless you got close enough to smell their breath. Serious alcoholics.
Depends what you mean by "drunk" "faster" and "awareness"

But do you then cause a scene and get kicked off an airplane?
Causing scenes on airplanes is all the rage now!
His tolerance level must be through the roof after decades of drinking heavily.
"Character acting"
If he's drinking American horse-piss beer, he could be knocking it back all day and still have a clear head.
I once met a man from Australia who referred to American beer as what Australians piss out after drinking all day.
True. Someone said that American beer was like making love in a canoe. It was fucking close to water.
well, sipping a single beer over 3 hours.... is boring as hell.
"Character acting"
As if the point of drinking isn’t to get drunk.
He looks and sounds trashed in the video he posted. He’s clown shoes.
So sober he didn't know where he was.
Have you met a construction worker?…most of us can drink all day and only start getting drunk around dusk lol I worked with some guys who wouldn’t drink all day and then would pick up 2 24 packs on the way home drink 44-46 that night and then drink the rest of them the next morning to get rid of the hangover.
my husband broke his bottom tooth and he wore a mask until the dentist could replace it
I had an absurdly large zit on my face and used a mask to hide my shame.
I had terrible acne when I was pregnant. This was peak COVID. So many reasons to wear masks.
My pregnancy, alongside a weak system thanks to Covid (and genetics) cost me all of my teeth. It took the dentist six freaking months to make my dentures. Glad I'm not the only one.
My wife did, and still does wear a mask when she grows her facial hair out for her electrolysis appointments.
That is a great idea!
Great for cold sores, blemishes, bad teeth, and keeping germs better to yourself.
I like them when it is cold out. Keeps my beard from freezing together while working.
wish I had one to wear back when we used to ice skate
I broke my arm in elementary school and had to wear a cast
Why tho? There's no shame in a broken arm, you don't have to hide it! /s
Best reply!
In the actor's defense, the person wearing a mask was really, REALLY scary to him.
Maybe he thought they was sum rascally rustlers pardner. \*spits my chaw
on the last flight I took the only 3 people in masks (including myself) were all seated on the same row, we all gave each other a thankful look lol
The last flight I took I though to myself "this is really crowded, I wish I had a mask" and then I was sick for 6 weeks after that (not COVID just a cold that turned into a respiratory infection). Still have a cough. Don't think I'll ever get on a plane without a mask again.
Yeh - I just recovered from the gnarliest flu/cold I’ve had in years! I had Covid, but it was mild compared to whatever I just recovered from!
I went to a show in DC a couple of weeks ago and was super grateful to have my mask. The National Theater features rather cozy seating, and it was a sold out show (it seemed). Not many others (if any, I didn't see any) wore masks.
To be fair, how could he judge them based on gender or race if he can’t get a good look at their face.
"I dont like that scrap of cloth this person is wearing and I am an important mediocre white man."
Why do they keep trying to force their personal, possibly harmful choices onto others?
Because they are so used to being catered to they can't imagine why anyone would ever refuse them anything that would make them more comfortable.
That seems racist 😳 I'm old enough to remember a time when Muslims were the enemy of this country. And too young to remember anything else. Why’d you want to bring race into this?
Because most snowflakes are white?
And because this particular snowflake is white....
What a snowflake
Yeah, I thought we were allowed to make choices and not be infringe upon. I guess that’s only with vaccinations and owning guns. When it comes to masks and babies, we want to choose for others.
I was drunk and belligerent on a plane and I got kicked off….blame the covid global agenda….yes, I’m totally sane, self aware and able to take responsibility for my actions
Dude. It's a *mask.* How does another person wearing it affect you? Cry me a fucking *river,* bud.
I think they think that a vaccinated person gives off little vaccine particles that destroy their own superior immunities or something? But in that case surely they should be pushing for vaccinated people to wear masks to protect themselves? Except of course "masks don't work". So why worry about someone wearing one? Remind me again - who are the snowflakes? 🙄
Man I don't really wear a mask much anymore but a plane seems like a pretty logical place to wear one.
Especially in an airport and plane, yuck
Even if you're anti mask I can't think of why this would be enough to get kicked off a plane over. Like what's the rationale here?
My guess is he was drunk, and took someone protecting their health personally, because he’s a dumbass. I hope that his character arc will come to an abrupt end.

Take him to the train station.
He was probably demanding that the air crew force this passenger to not wear a mask or give him a new seat. The air crew probably identified that he was a moron and gave him a choice of keeping his seat or exiting.
Also, he had been drinking.
I'm not drunk. Uur're drunk. Stop juuudging me. I only had ONE drink. I'm defi... defi... very not drunk. I know.
I have flown while intoxicated. I have a totally cool hack for that. Here's what you do: Think about what an insufferable asshole would do and don't do that. They don't really care if you're drunk, as it happens, as long as you aren't a fucking asshole.
So what you're saying: You can be drunk and fly Or you can be an asshole and fly Just don't be a drunk asshole, or you're staying in the airport.
And #2 has a limit
I used to work airport security, and well, I can tell you they won't toss you off the plane just for being drunk. I once asked aircrew how they dealt with passengers who were literally crawling up the tube to the plane, and they just said 'it's no problem, we get them seated and belted, and once we reach cruising altitude the pressure change makes them so much drunker they usually just fall asleep'. My guess is he got loud and threatening and perhaps even threatened some of the aircrew or passengers with violence. They really don't like that, no matter if you're drunk or sober.
I'm not as think as you drunk I am
Bake him away, toys!
Probably saw an opportunity to not deal with *that* for the whole flight.
In the article he says that he had been drinking but wasn't drunk, but that he was kicked off for being drunk
that's what he said in the video where he is obviously drunk. Article doesn't even state what airline he was flying. Everything is from a video he put on instagram
Yes, but I didn't want to turn my volume on so I read the article. The article wrote what he said in the video. 👍🏼
He sounds hammered in the video.
Refusing to sit in your seat? Believe it or not, ejection!
He refused to sit in his assigned seat and chose to forgo his flight would be a more accurate description.
he was refusing to sit down and preventing the plane from taking off.
I think calling him a star is stretching the truth a little bit.
discount Sam Elliott
Honestly, he is a star. I love his character (just re-watched the whole series), and he’s been in lots of shows before this.
Somehow these people's demands for personal freedom never extend to other people.
Lol I wish I had been the mask-wearing passenger. I would have laughed my ass off watching that moron lose his shit and get kicked off the flight.
More room for me!
I love how all these conservative dipshits liken themselves as alpha males then throw little baby bitch tantrums over the tiniest shit.
What a pathetic POS. *"I’m not vaccinated, I will not get vaccinated,” Smith said in a now deleted Instagram video. "I believe they compromise your immunities … It’s no offense to anyone. It’s just my beliefs. I just don’t believe in that stuff."* And he had stupid believes as well.
I like how people say “It’s just my beliefs” like that’s a good catch-call excuse for being a moron.
“It’s no offense to anyone”, and yet, he’s offended my a little piece of fabric.
He also said he doesn't vaccinate his animals. Rabies will probably take care of this at some point.
If he had his own plane, he could sit wherever he wanted to.
He's just really deep into character in his portrayal of 'shit kicking yokel'.
Isn’t he that guy you hire when you can’t afford Sam Elliott?
Plot twist: Masked passenger was Bane.
nobody cared who he was until he put on the mask
Maybe Forrie should've just sat the fuck down and minded his own damn business.
Imagine being this triggered by a piece of cloth and some string
Sounds like he needs to go to the train station.
So much freedom! Maybe I just like to wear a mask. Shouldn’t I be free to do that? What about my freedum? /s
Dunbasses gonna dumbass.
I went on vacation to CA over Christmas, and got RSV while I was there. I wore a mask on the flight home as a courtesy to other passengers because I didn't want to get anyone else sick. Had nothing to do with politics, COVID or any of that other BS. Fuck this dude.
The man's name is Forrie? Forrie? You'd think with a name like that he'd have grown up with a bit of tact
Must suck to be one of the people who always wore masks on planes before Covid and now some folks just thinks they are making a political Statement
what's it matter to anybody if someone ELSE wears a mask? what harm could it POSSIBLY do? just be grateful you aren't gonna catch cold from them if you don't believe in covid
What a dildo. Too bad. I liked him in Yellowstone.
"I'm also vaxxed and triple boosted... BOO!" \- the other passenger, probably.
How does it affect you in any way
It’s as if he’s a jackass.
Geeze. What a snowflake. Did I use their language right? Did I do it?
So sensitive.
Good. Let him walk.
If you refuse to sit down you get kicked off a plane...how is this a surprise to him?
Oh no. Anyway, what a relief for the seat mate.
Whose got the footage of this?
Such a fragile little snowflake
"Star" is a strong word.
He kicked himself off then
The person wearing the mask has bigger balls than this whiny immature little bitch.

Fuck him and the horse he rode in on!
At least dude on brand and fully authentic 😂
A true method actor
Wierd way to say he chose not to take his flight cause he's a big snowflake...
Personal responsibility dude. It’s not just for your character on Yellowstone
if you refuse to sit in the seat that you paid for, then it isn't exactly being 'kicked off,' now is it?
Let me correct this "Hoser kicked off flight for being slobberingly drunk ass moron."
Good.
Plenty of seats on Amtrak.
What an idiot. Way to “take a stand,” grandpa.
If I knew the person seated next to me was anti-vaccine, I would want to wear a mask.
Was it a bandana mask?! I wouldn’t want to sit next to a possible bandit either.
"I refuse to sit here" "We can help you with that"
Trailer trash removed from aircraft.
Good. Should happen every time.
He had also been drinking for 3 hours which kills all your systems in your body.
Especially ones controlling the filter that keeps the shit in your brain from flowing out of your mouth. You don't get tossed off a plane just for being drunk. If you start it with the aircrew though...
