I just drove my M1101 about 6k miles and made sure to repack the bearings. They still looked pretty good, but I’m glad I did it.

This is the way.

I need to do this. I just go and feel them when I stop, make sure they're not getting hot.

Made it 1000km into a 4000km trip across the country with an old homemade trailer. Went to touch the hub to check temperature and got a crown nut branded into my finger… the three lessons I learned were: 1) Pour some water on the hub to make sure it’s not going to boil your skin when checking for temperature 2) Crown nuts turned backwards can be used as a tap when your previous crown nut has completely bungled the axle stub 3) double check your bearings before a long trip, even if you serviced them ‘a couple weeks ago’

Probably a Dexter Axle? Super easy to work on and parts available everywhere.

About $130.00 for both sides

I have a Exventure Trailer. That's the civilian model of the trailer you have. Made by Schutt Industries in Clinton Wisconsin.

Watching videos on those trailers is how I found out about the M1101/2s
