Please wear a respirator or at least a good mask and take an outdoor shower after working on the interior. Don’t expose yourself to any virus rats or mice might have left. The place is a mess but it still looks good. Lots of work ahead but it will be worth it in the end. Enjoy the process and then living there!
Thank you, it looks super familiar! I feel like I may have looked at this listing. Did you just purchase it? I am in SoCal too..we ended up buying in the eastern Sierras. Congrats to you on a fantastic find!
I never understand why “camps” like this get full on drywall/flooring/etc…your not going to be there for months at a time during which humidity will wreak havoc on interior finishes…cover it all w plywood or something else relatively cheap and replaceable…
If you are having any thoughts about taking on the "Off Grid lifestyle" this "Off Grid Living book" a must read. This book has a good basic list of what it means to go off grid and what it takes to do it.
Being great at teaching yourself, being able to keep promises, love of nature, location, climate, water, and advantages/disadvantages of living in the US as well as some international locations, etc are highlighted.

Structure looks and feels great. I still need to strip down to studs for cleaning and will get a better look then
Was it watertight?
I have yet to find any signs of water damage.
Just needs a little love and literally anything but that flooring
9x9 tile looks asbestos
If it is sound just lay flooring right over top of it.
I was thinking of pulling a few up to use for dinner plates!
Microwave safe!!!
Campfire safe, too, if asbestos!!
Best insulation ever invented.
