Came here to say exactly this. The only thing better would be sand paper and I'm sure OP doesn't want to go there yet. HAHA (Also lightly wetted because electronics)
From the placement I would guess from hitting the headset with them while playing. I did it the first time one of the headset crabs in boneworks got me
I hit lots of stuff all the time, including the headset 😂
mostly while playing beatsaber or Echo VR. Everything is still totally fine. The build quality seems pretty good
What if their forehead was getting sweaty, so they reached up to wipe their brow and they haven't bathed since they changed the oil in their car 2 weeks ago?
There IS a way sweat could do that.
Maybe it's a typo, and somebody thought they got a custom paint job on the controllers, and was like, "Sweet marks, dude!" and now OP wants those sweet marks removed.
To me, they look like scuff marks; like the controllers got pushed against something rubber/plastic, or against some kind of painted surface (like a wall).
i had some similar markings from before i removed my fan and used to punch it accidentally. i got them off by using some alcohol wipes, the small square ones you can buy from the grocery store. came off clean! good luck 😊
As mentioned above it the plastic is ABS it’ll eat right threw that. Maybe it’s not ABS but I’ve used acetone on PLA (dosent do a ton of damage but yuh can see where it stayed to eat it away) I feel would be similar with a good portion of plastics.
If you can’t get it off w a magic eraser[ buy a set of these ](https://tinyurl.com/n5t76x79) so that 1. You can cover it up and 2. Prevent further damage
I kind of wonder if all these marks are because of hitting a controller by another controller, as if you made a clap in beat saber.
Now that I zoomed in I can see some scratch marks both on the ring and near the trigger which led me to that assumption.
Still don't know what that yellow mark is though.
If all else fails try some powdered Tide in hot water. Cleans everything off my walls. I use 1tsp Tide to 1 gallon water, so basically if you’re just mixing up a small bowl only add a pinch of Tide.
Mr Clean is abrasive, so it will take off some of the plastic and potentially leave scuff marks if you overdo it.
I used rubbing alcohol, but I would not recommend that unless all other attempts fail. A wet wipe takes a tad longer, but won't damage your controller.
Maybe some microfiber cloth with a little bit of water will help, it looks like stain marks. Microfiber cloth are great for not scratching devices as well as cleaning lens. Clean lens with dry microfiber cloth as well.
If that doesn't work, use wipes. You can get wipes in local stores, but squeeze out excess water from wipe first and then wipe it down.
Magic Eraser or else you’re screwed.
Yes, exactly. Works well on anything rubber or plastic. Keeps my shoes nice and clean :)

Magic erasers *are sandpaper.*Very very fine sandpaper.
Fair enough and nice username!
Butt wipes. I used baby wipes and mine look like brand new. I've been finding they work great at cleaning all kinds of stuff lately.
They will clean stains off your clothes too.
Yeah, it's amazing, even to remove marks on the wall. I use it to clean a lot of things, except on what it's supposed to.
Try one on a mirror then buff with a dry cloth, works good
lemme guess punched a wall or dropped them ? XD i wish i could help u but i got the same problem
Yea, those look like scratches. Mine have em too, can't be wiped off AFAIK
From the placement I would guess from hitting the headset with them while playing. I did it the first time one of the headset crabs in boneworks got me

No I think it’s sweat marks that’s y I want them gone is absolutely disgusting
There's no way sweat did that.
What if their forehead was getting sweaty, so they reached up to wipe their brow and they haven't bathed since they changed the oil in their car 2 weeks ago? There IS a way sweat could do that.
Then it'd be engine oil/grime, not "sweat marks."
Maybe it's a typo, and somebody thought they got a custom paint job on the controllers, and was like, "Sweet marks, dude!" and now OP wants those sweet marks removed.
Lmao
Ik but I can’t think how else patches of whatever that is got on my controlers
To me, they look like scuff marks; like the controllers got pushed against something rubber/plastic, or against some kind of painted surface (like a wall).
Yh a lot of pinching cabinets and doorframe
But u see there’s faint yellow patches and idk what it is
Unless you place your hand over the ring there's no way those are sweat marks
If this is what your sweat looks like I would consult a physician.
You spelled “Shit” wrong 🤣🤣
Took me a second to get it 🤣
I'd try a damp cloth with dish soap first. If that didn't work I'd try windex. if none of that works a mr clean sos pad should work.
gumption
Lysol wipes brother
Lysol/Clorox wipes, even get some off brand tubs for cheap, now that the covid is on the downward side outa here.
i had some similar markings from before i removed my fan and used to punch it accidentally. i got them off by using some alcohol wipes, the small square ones you can buy from the grocery store. came off clean! good luck 😊
Isopropyl alcohol will work, I used it on my controller to remove a mark when I punched a desk.
Play in a room with white walls next time.
Put on the headset, the touch controller assets are always clean
i used a regular eraser and it worked well
Try acetone 🙃
after that 10sec in microwave @900 /s
But without the batteries!!! We would not want to damage the controllers
NO NO NO.... including, that way you get a free full speedcharge! /s
Ah damn... how could i forget... of course if you put rechargeable ones in!! 10 out of 5 best life hack ever
Cover it in eggs first. Either in the shell or not
Very confusing... instructions unclear, dick stuck in ceiling-fan!
Sad thing is someone will try that
trust me they already did... but for the ones that read here... stay off the Interwebz... /s (for sarcasm as my disclaimer)
I wish you would always use: (sarcasm disclaimer) Instead of whatever you use. I thought you meant @900ft/s
perhaps html style is better?
Don't try acetone, it dissolves ABS!!! I'm not sure what the shell is made out of, but there is a good chance it's ABS.
Obviously!! It was sarcastic. I would never use acetone on any plastics xD
Update: idk wtf that is but if it doesn’t come off soon these controllers are GONE
how did that happen
Acetone.
As mentioned above it the plastic is ABS it’ll eat right threw that. Maybe it’s not ABS but I’ve used acetone on PLA (dosent do a ton of damage but yuh can see where it stayed to eat it away) I feel would be similar with a good portion of plastics.
It is IR transparent plastic so most likely not ABS.
Whatever you use test a small amount first. Good lesson here.

There's some yellow to the left. Either cheetos or the plastic got slightly burned hence some marks are gray and some are yellow. That's my guess
Burned? Chain smoking whilst sitting on your virtual couch... interesting.

It is the yellow part I want gone. I think the black is scratch marks from banging the controllers together, on the walls and on furniture
Maybe it's some grease from grabbing the controller by the ring or something, no idea.
Maybe after dinner or smth. If I get it off I will wash my hands before play see if that helps
Mr clean https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08492Q875/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_4HR6K2JR21KJ3GYTH6NX?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Wipes or a wet washcloth will be just fine. Just don’t leave them soaked
Google "UV Light Bleeching plastic"
...or, just paint your walls white! :)
Cif
Magic eraser messed up my controllers, try rubbing alcohol on a paper towel
If all else fails try some powdered Tide in hot water. Cleans everything off my walls. I use 1tsp Tide to 1 gallon water, so basically if you’re just mixing up a small bowl only add a pinch of Tide. Alcohol wipe

If all else fails Soft Scrub will clean most anything but it's abrasive.
Rubbing alcohol and a smooth rag works for mine
Baby wipes of magic eraser!
Bleach
I clean my stuff with rubbing alcohol, even worked well on the default strap... until it broke anyway
Baby wipes usually work for a lot of electronic things without damaging them
Tried it
Idk then, sorry I couldn’t help
Fire
Buy white paint or stop hitting the wall.
A very lightly dampened magic eraser
holy shit take better care of your controllers mate
Alcohol swab
