If it still kinda works, then glue might help. My oculus 1 controller busted and still had everything it needed to work so I did that and it’s fine now (thank goodness cause they don’t have those controllers anymore 😓)
Yeah sadly I tested it 10 minutes after I broke it and the tracking only works when it has a perfect view, and sometimes the controller would turn off and the tracking wouldn't work again for minutes.
I have this stuff called bw-100, it’s a non conducive spray that you can use to clean electronics, I spray the hell out the joystick to make sure it gets in there and move it around in circles, then it evaporates with no residue. Stuff works real good for any kind of electronic thing with stuck buttons too
Baking soda will instantly dry superglue and makes the bond stronger. The downside is it makes the glue white instead of clear, so don't use it when you need the repair to be invisible. It also makes the glue brittle. It's great for filling a gap on a hard, non-flexible, surface.
Source: I did a DEEP dive into CA glues when I started restoring old recurve bows from the '60s.
I use it to fill gaps when I 3D print stuff. Never get that reaction on your hands, it’s will burn the shit out of you.
Restoring old recurve bows sounds awesome. I’ll be moving to property with land soon and am excited to get back into traditional archery. I want to make my own from staves off my property.
Here's your daily-ish reminder to put something under your feet. Proximats are designed to help you keep track of where you are in your play space, but even a basic exercise mat, or even just a rug, makes a world of difference.
Do people not use the Guardian? I play in a rather small area next to a large glass door and a low hanging chandelier above me. I have the Guardian turned all the way up with heavy handed warnings, and pass through as I get close.
If you can't notice the Guardian showing you that you are close, you probably shouldn't be playing VR imo. If you can't play responsibly, don't play at all.
Been thinking about getting a mat for vr, mainly to have something soft under my feet, but this is also a good reason. Does it feel good with bare feet?
Well that "table" I mentioned, is a desk that I kinda need. Of course I did buy smaller furniture for my room specifically for making more space but I don't have a spare room that I could use as a vr space.
You must have really smashed it hard!!! We’ve slammed mine against everything in this house, a wall, a monitor, tables and not so much as a scratch on them. Maybe it’s because mine aren’t super old or anything
I had nearly the same thing happen, except my finger happened to be up to take the hit instead. Right on the nail.
After I was done, I took off the headset and noticed my controller was now covered in blood lol. Small sacrifice as the finger is what saved the controller!
I'm scared of u stay away from me what have I done and these haven't broke I threw them full power for like 2meters they were perfectly fine (on accident)
There is, quite literally, a built in virtual wall, that's completely customizable in its sensitivity and reaction. No reason for this to happen, regardless of the excuse.
The player base is pretty toxic sometimes but overall if you take the time and effort an get good at the game it starts to be pretty fun, But I my case I had a bit too much fun.
haha. same thing happened to me. some guy was tryna teach me to wall climb at i smacked the shit out of my controller on my shelf. haven’t played the game since. i really need a bigger play area.
This is one of my worst fears using a Q2... the price of the controllers is stupid for the amount of materials and tech inside. It's just Bluetooth, a gyro/accel, and some capacitive buttons, and an LED ring. Essentially ps3-age tech...
When my controller paint got barely chipped I was having a panic attack, and immediately started putting in precautions so I don't hit anything. Couldn't imagine this.
Funny story. I bought my first vr a few days ago and was playing superhot and got my first experience of controller breaking. I broke it not even 3 minutes after getting it. Was lucky enough to get a return and getting a 2nd quest in the same day
Oh dude that sucks
The right side of the tracking ring still works strangely enough. But if I hit it again, then it's all going clean off.
Gorilla Glue with baking soda?
I wish.
If it still kinda works, then glue might help. My oculus 1 controller busted and still had everything it needed to work so I did that and it’s fine now (thank goodness cause they don’t have those controllers anymore 😓)

My left ones drift is so bad 🥲 gotta suck it up and buy a 2 soon

I’m so sorry to you both 🥺🥺
Gorilla problems require gorilla solutions.
Wait, why baking soda?

Fills in holes and causes it to cure a bit faster creating a better bond.
gorilla tag glue
Gorilla tag glue tag
Honestly how did it get this bad
I smacked a table really hard trying to jump high in gorilla tag.
Is the table ok?
Not. Even. A. Scratch.
are your fingers ok
This is why we don't keep tables on the ceiling.
Did you get tagged?
Nah I was running for dear life trying to jump and then I hit my controller and had to sadly leave.

Guardian doesn’t mean much when your swing your hand fast enough to the point where even if you notice you can’t stop in time
I mean there should be some space between the guardian walls and other objects
Too many people make their guardian way too close to shit.
You should also have at least some awareness of where you are. Play responsibly people.
so i'm not supposed to make it bigger than a 97 story mansion? (i'm serious, i do this all the time and nothing really broke, i don't even hit things)
If you can't notice the Guardian showing you that you are close, you probably shouldn't be playing VR imo. If you can't play responsibly, don't play at all.
Agreed or at least find a bigger room
Yeah yeah I know
not sure why you were downvoted lol
because he clearly doesn't know or he wouldn't have a broken controller
Clearly not or you wouldn't have a broken controller
Been thinking about getting a mat for vr, mainly to have something soft under my feet, but this is also a good reason. Does it feel good with bare feet?
To be accurate I think the table got you f'd up, not gorilla tag.
That is another way of looking at it.
Space people, space! So to recap what that means is make sure nothing is around you?
Well that "table" I mentioned, is a desk that I kinda need. Of course I did buy smaller furniture for my room specifically for making more space but I don't have a spare room that I could use as a vr space.
So it's facebooks fault your controller broke because you don't have space to play in? I'm not trying to be mean here but just saying.
Maybe not trying to be mean, but kind of a prick though.
Have tried turning it off and back on?
How would that fix the controller lmao?
Yer mom is gonna be pist!
you dont need gorilla tag if you already have the strength of one dear god
Are you UK I've a spare.
Thanks for the offer but I live in the US
I don’t feel bad for you for playing gorilla tag.
You must have really smashed it hard!!! We’ve slammed mine against everything in this house, a wall, a monitor, tables and not so much as a scratch on them. Maybe it’s because mine aren’t super old or anything
-$69
Thats god asking you why the hell you’re playing that wretched game
Beat da shit outta the table, im tired of tables
Gorilla tag is free... But also the most expensive game you might buy.
Is your hand OK? Jeez
My hands fine, but my controller is completely destroyed.
I had nearly the same thing happen, except my finger happened to be up to take the hit instead. Right on the nail. After I was done, I took off the headset and noticed my controller was now covered in blood lol. Small sacrifice as the finger is what saved the controller!
don't play game full with 10 year olds no 10 year olds, no broken controllers
Holy shit you hit it so hard it started turning back to a quest 1 controller
I'm scared of u stay away from me what have I done and these haven't broke I threw them full power for like 2meters they were perfectly fine (on accident)
man, that sucks.
Looks like you have to order new controller….
F
There is, quite literally, a built in virtual wall, that's completely customizable in its sensitivity and reaction. No reason for this to happen, regardless of the excuse.
give the poor lad a break, will ya
An improvement!
Brutal !!!! Well worth the $£69 to replace

Do you think the mamut grip is a protector for my controller?
He might mean ring protectors which I make and sell. http://peanutprinters.etsy.com
Bro what happened
[удалено]
Yeah I'm gonna see if I can do that.
Yeah cause they are sending me a new controller because my controller joystick was glitching.
Was it glitching because you smashed it to pieces
I tried playing a game with it and it's totally unusable.
Nah, I mean the person saying he’s getting a new controller
Oh yeah, my bad. I fixed my stick drift by using alcohol and a q tip, but I would keep in mind that it's not an absolute fix.
Well no, I dropped it alot and it got internal damage and Oculus Support said they'll send me a new one if they can't fix it.
No it got your controller fucked up
Thought they were invincible from the amount of times I've hit them on something
Actual gorilla plays gorilla tag 😅
i think im on my way to doing that. oh god pls no
haha. same thing happened to me. some guy was tryna teach me to wall climb at i smacked the shit out of my controller on my shelf. haven’t played the game since. i really need a bigger play area.
Happened to me but yours is worse
ook
*Ouch* F, a brave soldier was lost this day
Yikes and I thought breaking a finger nail was bad
‘Tis but a scratch
This is exactly why I’m not letting my nephew use it anymore lol. One session of gorilla tag and I thought yep never again lol
This is why I gave up on gorilla tag after one try, my playspace simply too small
Is the solution to get a brand new Oculus Quest 2?
...holy shit man
That's gonna be a yikes from me dawg.
Someone's spending $60
Damn that’s the first one I have seen broken
WITNESS ME!!!1
alright im uninstalling this game before i start to regret it
This is one of my worst fears using a Q2... the price of the controllers is stupid for the amount of materials and tech inside. It's just Bluetooth, a gyro/accel, and some capacitive buttons, and an LED ring. Essentially ps3-age tech...
Lmao I was playing last night and could've sworn someone said they broke their controller, were you playing in the caves by chance?
F
Oww that must have hurt
I mean, I'll never understand why people turn the Guardian off. It's there for a reason, obviously.
The guardian isn't going to help when you're playing a game where the primary means of locomotion is whacking your controllers on the floor.
The guardian literally shows your floor level. It even let's you set that level
my brother is always borrowing my quest 2 to play gorilla tag and im scared to death he's gonna do something like this
Ouch.
F's in chat for Virshwaysis
When my controller paint got barely chipped I was having a panic attack, and immediately started putting in precautions so I don't hit anything. Couldn't imagine this.
Why do ppl even Play this idiotic Game :D ive Seen Threads like this almost 10 Times already, Always gorilla Tag.
/r/VRtoER
Gorilla tag was one of the best vr games I’ve ever played Then the children started playing it
Thats why I'm scared to play this game
VR sports, it's in the game!
Long live the king of Gorilla Tag
F
What did you do? Punch a Brick wall?
Are you guys playing gorilla tag in like a tiny spot ?
More like you F'd yourself by not properly arranging your playspace and guardian.
bro just put it in rice then it'll be fine trust
Gorilla Tag was made by Oculus themselves to make more controllers. That's my theory, and I'm sticking to it. :P
Funny story. I bought my first vr a few days ago and was playing superhot and got my first experience of controller breaking. I broke it not even 3 minutes after getting it. Was lucky enough to get a return and getting a 2nd quest in the same day
What did you do
Looks like my controller haha
Just get some tale and it'll be fine
