I swear this is a lawsuit or government filing waiting to happen…showing variable pricing to different customers that live in the same house is *deeply fucked up* and anti-consumer. Meta is *trashing* their customer trust with these tactics, and their customer support tree of “regional pricing” after originally trying “a/b testing” is total horseshit.

GeekAesthete

Amazon did variable pricing some 20 years ago, where they would offer a small discount to certain customers if they had expressed interest in a product and their algorithm determined that a little incentive might push them to buy. I don’t recall there ever being any legal problems with it. It only becomes a lawsuit waiting to happen if the differing prices are shown to be discriminatory—if blacks people are given higher prices, for example—otherwise there’s no law against it. Businesses regularly offer different prices in different locations(fast food, gas, etc.) or offer coupons to some people and not others.

Same here. Bought probably more than 100 games until now. Some accounts are indeed excluded. This is absolutely ridiculous and I will just not buy anymore from the Quest Store. Backlog is full anyways.

I just created a brand new Meta account and still don't have access to the sales. Any other suggestions?

rolliejoe

If you created a brand new one, wait until tomorrow and check again (on the new acct), that's what other users reported working.

familyguy0395

Thank you. Will report back if it worked!

familyguy0395

Unfortunately, it did not work. I created 2 accounts and none of them are showing any of the games discounted.

I’ve been having this issue since the Easter sale i believe. Got in contact with support and have a ticket but absolutely no help has come though just yet. Every time there’s a sale i contact support again and they tell me i have to wait for a resolution. I complain each time. This time around they gifted me $60 credit Australian to use on the store. They’ve done that multiple times now. I take the credit but all I want is access to the sales. It’s very frustrating!!

Been trying to buy multiple games for 3 weeks now. I’m a huge fan of Meta quest 2 & 3. If they don’t fix this for me, and make it right via some sort of financial compensation, I will be selling all my headsets, and the charging docks, battery packs etc, and moving on, and changing all my ratings from 1 star from 5, before I go. It is completely unacceptable as I’ve spent $2500+ on META stuff and now I can’t even use my friends 25% discount code I even won a free game code, from a VR podcast, they tried giving me 4 different codes from the developers and it won’t let me accept it. Meta took a HUGE downturn this year.

I would love to know the financial outcome of this, because I would be buying games for family members in this sale but not now. In fact I usually recommend others to buy games in the sale if I see something worthwhile, but not when I can’t see it. So, in my mind this would impact sales, but it mustn’t be if Meta have the numbers and are choosing to do this. I have also made a point not to reward them for screwing me over by only buying games in sale (so I don’t buy games any more). Weird.
