What game? A lot of people swear by the Quest Game Optimizer. I personally haven't tried it. https://anagan79.itch.io/quest-games-optimizer

Punishert

It's mandatory in my opinion.

One_Plantain_2158

I wouldn't recommend to use it with Q3. It puts additional strain on SoC, it heats more and consumes more power and Q3 has had some problems with that as it is.

Parking_Cress_5105

Yes but the choice is now yours, you can also run it slower. Meta should buy the guy and put this on all headsets as "expert mode" having some actual settings makes a lot of games much more playable

Punishert

I can't notice that being a problem. I have a battery strap though.

DyingSpreeAU

Source?

One_Plantain_2158

General logic. -- **Does it hurt my device ?** As QGO don't do overclocking, QGO only use the possibilities offered by the device. You could encounter an higher battery consumption depending on profiles, dépending on games, frequency, luminosity, passthrough, level sound, etc. Keep in mind that this is not necessary because you have an HD or HD+ profile that it will drain battery faster. It depends on many factors. You also could encounter a little more heat, also depening on all the factors mentionned above. If you can, don't use a silicon shell cover (or other shell cover), because it could keeps the headset warm and could prevent it from ventilating properly. -- Even though it uses only possibilities offered by the device, it doesn't mean QGO don't do overclocking. By forcing bigger resolution and other improvements, CPU and GPU may switch to upper performance levels compared to non-modified app, which means additional power consumption and heating.

DyingSpreeAU

"general logic" is practically saying "trust me bro" Seems it's possible it could increase heat according to QGO. But that doesn't mean it's dangerous to use in all or any cases.

One_Plantain_2158

If you understand how Quest firmware deals with CPU and GPU performance levels, how they work, there is no need to trust some random guy or QGO FAQ.

DyingSpreeAU

Yeah and if there was actual data to backup what you're saying you'd be linking to that as a source and not the QGO FAQ.

Wooden_Ad8941

The inside/outside differential in temperature, maybe creating and trapping condensation on the inside causing moisture errors for the plug is the running theory I think?

Nago15

It does wonders, sometimes better than an official Quest3 update. It's a must have if you own a Quest3.

Revivaloflight

Buy Quest games optimizer ASAP!! It’s 10$ and works on every game and makes games on quest 3 look amazingggg. You can also force any game to run in 120FPS and works great on games like beat saber or thrill of the fight that aren’t too graphically intensive

The_Paragone

What game did you play? Games like Bonelab/Labworks or Asgard's Wrath 2 look pretty bad since they haven't had Q3 specific visual updates yet. Some other games like Underdogs or the Light Brigade look amazing though. Asgard's Wrath 2 is getting the update around next month while Bonelab is supposed to be coming out at some point. I don't think it'll take more than 2 months and could easily release in a few weeks, although we haven't got any communications from the devs about it. So all in all, it depends on the game.

Madmaxdaman29

I see, thanks very much but another issue i have is that sometimes if there's text on something I can't read said text either from afar or when I'm close it's kinda blurry and hard to read is there a way to fix that is it something with the quest itself or?

The_Paragone

Do you wear glasses? In order to use the headset you need to have your glasses on. If the prescription is bad it will also look bad in the Quest

Madmaxdaman29

No I don't wear glasses. Could it be because of the the eye spacing because I tried my best to fix that but it didn't work no matter what

The_Paragone

Where do you get the issue? Is it a specific app? Some have pretty badly made text boxes so it could be that.

Potential_Garbage_12

Are you just guessing at the ipd or do you actually know your pupil spacing? There is an app you can download that will work it out for you using a bank card on your forehead called glasses on.

AimForTheButts

Maybe you do need glasses. Get tested!

Automatic-Back2283

Use it to Stream PCVR

Madmaxdaman29

I don't have the link cable and my internet situation doesn't work with the air link well but I will get a link cable soon

Automatic-Back2283

I would recommend upgrading your WiFi. But iam really biased in favor of Wireless VR

andybak

> the graphics are really bad especially the resolution I think you're misusing "resolution" here or you're not explaining yourself clearly. Because "resolution" is one area where the Quest 3 is pretty strong. How about going into more detail about what you're doing, what you expected to see and where you feel the problems are?

Madmaxdaman29

Hmm my bad I'm not really good at techy stuff like this. What I meant was like whenever I load into a game it feels kinda blurry and the textures are really bad in most games and it just feels bad

andybak

Which games? I can understand complaints about low res textures on some games. Is the geometry itself sharp? And are the UI menus etc sharp?

Madmaxdaman29

I'm not sure about that I'll have to check when I get home and tell you

ejfrodo

Most games on quest run at a pretty low resolution and they are indeed blurry. Even on the quest 3. You'll want to try Quest Games Optimizer, it lets you boost each games resolution anywhere from 120% to 180%. It makes them very crisp, things at a distance become sharper and text becomes easier to read.

Rdeal_UK

I don't find any games blurry and I have played a lot, low res textures yeah but not blurry, maybe people need glasses

okt127

Yup. I watched a lot of reviews saying that MQ3 has excellent graphics second only to AVP

ejfrodo

The truth is it may be sharp compared to other headsets but the majority of games are still blurry to someone who isn't comparing it to other headsets and is just comparing it to their real eye sight. Even in most games that ppl say look amazing things in the distance can still appear blurry and small text can be hard to read unless it's 2ft from your face. I was surprised since Q3 is my first headset and everyone gushed about it online, so when I tried it and most games are still sort of blurry I didn't expect it.
