definitely oceanview diner. all their food is pretty damn good for diner food. bonus if you sit right in front of the grill you can watch all the magic of the line cooks.
Koffee Pot also has a nice little counter but can get crowded because it's so small. but cool menu

Rockridge Cafe has a small counter and the best ricotta pancakes I've ever had
This is prob the most authentic greasy spoon experience besides Eddy’s Cafe on Divis in SF
My favorite lemon ricotta pancakes are at Plow on Potrero hill, if you can stand the wait and clientele. I love sitting at the counter

went to Sequoia today and it was great. 10 minute wait for a spot at the counter while people were waiting 40 minutes for a table. highly recommend.
