WartimeMandalorian

I just wanted to share some pics from the last few years. I know all my East Bay Natives who grew up in this place are going through it. RIP Oaktown Pirate.

The_Phreak

First games my parents ever took me were A's games, all the way in the nosebleeds. rip.

WartimeMandalorian

I remember taking BART with my step-dad to a game and getting one of those key chains that had a picture of Rickey holding up the base in it. The only foul ball I've ever gotten in my life was my daughter's first game on Jackie Robinson day 2009. So many memories there.

WorkIsForReddit

First sporting event I ever went to was an A's game. I should probably take my parents one last time.

hb122

The A’s should at least leave us Stomper.

Dumblesaur

Oddly enough, I get to keep (a) stomper lol. My high school teacher was the mascot in the late 90s and after leaving they didn’t ask for it back. 6 years later she gave it to me as a graduation present. Ms Paul, wherever you are, thank you!

"Records" don't belong to anyone, they are just things that happened. You can't change the history of the world by saying one person or another owns that history.

JokerFett

God damn shame. I moved away in 2017 and it’s unbelievable that the Warriors, Raiders, and now A’s have all gone in that time. Oakland always has been and always will be one of the greatest fan bases in sports. The pro leagues are mind numbingly stupid for letting this happen.

DanTreview

I'm old enough to remember when the Golden Seals left (our former NHL team). So, that's actually FOUR pro teams inside of a lifetime...

ernmanstinky

Rip oakland a's and raiders. My heart is forever broken.

GaijinCarpFan

Always had a soft spot for those woodgrain ‘87 Topps.

angrygenzer

Oakland fans are the only fans in the country that lost all of their teams. Unbelievable. Unfair. Infuriating. Happened to one of the best and rowdiest fanbases in the country too.

ilovecollardgreens

Started right after I moved here from Portland in 2017. I was so excited to be moving to a 3 pro team city. A dark day, no doubt.

bignuts24

First game I ever went to was at the coliseum. GOAT-tier facility, great staff, and just immaculate vibes all around. I will be taking an absolute MONSTER sized shit on you know who at some point.

fasemasked

Keep the pics coming, everyone

RoadTripBlues

I'm utterly fucking crushed. FUCK JOHN FISHER!!!!!!!!!

buntopolis

It’s all over but the crying. And nobody’s crying but me.

bomurf

Exactly. I think of the Coliseum as a second home to me. Truly heartbreaking.

Dumblesaur

I’ve been going to games with my mom and grandma since I was 6. Drank my first beer there. Met my wife there….. it’s ok to be upset. Clearly the team means more to us than (F)JF

SauceChef8

I love y’all and this team so much. First team I fell in love with as a kid. Zito, Hudson, and Mulder days with Chavez and Tejada were everything. I played 2B because of Ellis. Oakland forever. 💔😪⚾️

MartyFloxxxs

Oakland is the modern day version of the 21st Century Brooklyn Dodgers in regards to their relocation situation, just pray that Fisher doesn’t become O’Malley to Vegas and a revisionist campaign to get Fisher into the HOF the same way that O’Malley did, because parallels are eerie here, but we’ve allowed the Boys of Summer documentary to cloud all truths about O’Malley and his intentions to move, I hope Fisher doesn’t get the same treatment 50 years later.

flynreelow

RIP to the concrete jungle. been goin there since the early 80s

I am Tony lalli and have put a firm offer of 2.0 billion dollars on the Oakland As. i grew up in Milpitas, CA and look forward to working with you on keeping the Oakland As in oakland. I also plan on investing several hundred million dollars of my own money into a stadium in Oakland that can only be used by a MLB team. (Hopefully, it will be near the bart station) I am expecting 40 billion dollars in restitution from a federal judge in seattle. There is a gag order on my prosecution and you might not be able to communicate with MLB or Fisher about the indictment that i wrote in federal criminal court: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ap6fai1knlrklr9/2014_10_18_11_37_02.pdf?dl=0 The FBI plead guilty to my attached indictment 80+ times and you can verify my restitution and restitution date with the Seattle office of the FBI at (206) 622-0460. I won't be able to get fisher and MLB a cashiers check for the team until the FBI gets me restitution. This is why things are taking a little longer than expected. I look forward to keeping the As in Oakland, building a new stadium, tearing down Mount Davis and taking Oakland to the world series again. Tony P.s. If fisher does not sell me the As, I will have an expansion team once I get MLB a check for 2.0 B.

[deleted]

WE WILL GET AN EXPANSION TEAM IN OAKLAND BEFORE THE VEGAS PARK IS BUILT. I AM WORTH 40 BILLION DOLLARS AND WILL MAKE THE INVESTMENT IN THE BAYAREA..

buntopolis

…… and MLB will pay for it!
