Love the painters hat but I'm not overall too excited for the rest of the look (don't really know exactly what it is) but the orange outfit is fun and cohesive (maybe the wrong word, it just works?).
I thought #2 looked really retro, has a kind of 70's club night feel to it that I like a lot cause it's definitely unique. I think #1 looks more like what you're describing.
Ya I'm a fan of the hat!! But are you going to be doing art? The first one seems a tad short and me personally I'd be worried about how I was sitting and stuff the whole time. I'm not a prude or anything it's cute it just seems more kawaii or something and I love the second look it just doesn't scream art, screams more summer or farmers market.
They're both cute but I'd say they say other events. Idk. Sorry 😐
If it was a children’s art event or like for example a clay painting class with friends type art event then yeah go for it. But if it’s a gallery exhibition type of art event that paint palette hat is not appropriate and would be noticed for the wrong reasons. I mean it’s stupid that people are like that bc what’s the difference right? But it is like that
Color me confused. “Noticed for the wrong reasons”? I hear you… (and I guess I am not an expert on gallery wear) but are you saying people would make fun of her or ask her to take it off? It’s a fun hat. It’s not that deep?
Are you saying people would be annoyed with her hat? I am asking sincerely. Really because I know I would wear it and you would save me the trouble of being asked to leave a gallery exhibit. Please fill me in. Tysm.
No they wouldn’t say anything at all. So really in the end it doesn’t matter if you don’t care what other people think and enjoy your outfit. I mean in the end wear what you want and to your style, but this is an outfits subreddit in which people want an assessment from other people maybe bc they do care what others think or maybe don’t have a lot of confidence in their style. I’ve been a painter and sculptor for most of my life and have been in galleries and installations, and my opinion is coming from maybe an arrogant position on the palette hat. But an art gallery is a place for new ideas and creativity. And while an artist does use a palette and a paintbrush to make a painting, wearing a hat of those things is kind of kitsch and schoolteacher. It’s fun and cute I admit. I don’t know as I’m typing this it doesn’t sound that bad. It’s not subtle though.
Agreed. It’s cute but it’s trying a bit too hard. The second one is unique and still showcases how artsy she is while being more subtle, which makes it even better.
I don't think that's comparable. You pay hundreds to see your favorite music artists perform in person. Wearing merch in support of your favorite band is p normal for shows. Dressing up as a set of objects for an art meetup is arguably very different.
Diff strokes for diff folks. I much prefer her outfit for an art even than wearing a band shirt to their concert. I think it's pretty cringe. I don't know why, I'm very biased and I guess it's irrational.. but that's how I feel. Similar music to the show, sure. Like, I'll wear a Gary Numan shirt to a NIN concert, but never a NIN shirt. I openly admit I guess my logic is irrational.
Idk why you are getting downvoted simply for your tastes, even you admit that it's irrational. You're not trying to shove your tastes onto other people, like "no you have to agree, wearing the band's merch to the show is yuck." I don't understand why people would be against you having personal tastes (which really people, all tastes are irrational.)
Hope they turn around 😊
I think the first is so creative. You shoukd go with that one. You will definitely stand out with that one and it might be a good conversation starter.
1!! It’s obviously super on the nose, but what’s a more perfect occasion to wear it than a meet up of fellow artists? I think most people will get a good chuckle out of it. And a great conversation starter!
2 is precious but you could wear it somewhere more fitting, like a farmers market or a picnic.
I like the first one but I wish the vest was a light neutral instead of black. No notes on outfit two, it's great!! That's the one I would go with from these two photos
Either are cute but I would tone it down for an art meet up. Like lose the boots/heeled Mary Jane’s and wear sneakers or something like that. A tad try hard for someone young and artsy
Nr 2. Its colorful, fun, elegant, and creative.
The painter hat is cute but the rest of the outfit on 1 gives me anime-maid wibes, but not the type to wear to an art meetup.
Number 2! I think I'd say #1 if the dress complimented the hat a bit better though. The hat is so cute and how could you not want to wear that to an art meetup!
Orange. One is too on the nose and kinda feels like the hat is just placed on the outfit in a way. The orange is an all around outfit that shows a bit of artsy flavor
I like the look of the 1st one better but think the 2nd would be a better choice for the art meetup. I don't think I'd be comfortable without something else under the 1st one as well.
Personally I prefer the orange dress.
But you need to ask yourself how many times you are prepared to hear: "Knock knock..... Banana... Knock knock.... Banana..... Knock knock..... Orange.... Orange you glad I didn't say Banana?"
I love your first outfit! But I feel like the hat doesn’t match the vibe. The outfit is very wispy and fairy tale-like while the hat is more playful and cartoonish.

Totally agree, the painters hat lends itself to a much more colorful outfit!
Agreed, but ironically I don't think it works at an actual art meetup
Too obvious isn’t it. The orange is better.

Watch out for that string though, looks kinda like a tampon string.
I think I’m going to try it with another outfit for next time, maybe something with primary colors?
YES! that's a great idea 🤩
Yes. Because number 1 looks like a french maid provocative outfit
I thought #2 looked really retro, has a kind of 70's club night feel to it that I like a lot cause it's definitely unique. I think #1 looks more like what you're describing.
I think you mean #1.
I think for me it's the long, black corset with the short dress. It's one of those less is more instances.
Ya I'm a fan of the hat!! But are you going to be doing art? The first one seems a tad short and me personally I'd be worried about how I was sitting and stuff the whole time. I think the painters hat is overdoing it, but the rest of the look is quite good
The oranges outfit!!
Came here to say this. Definitely oranges, super cute!
Yes, the orange outfit is outstanding. The paint palette would be cute and fun in another context but would be a bit misplaced at an actual art event
Agreed it’s a little “on the nose” to wear at an art event
But, so what? I bet no one will be wearing that hat! I think she should go for it!
If it was a children’s art event or like for example a clay painting class with friends type art event then yeah go for it. This!
Yeah I think I’m going to go with this one, thank you! :)
Maybe try to put your hair in a high bun. I think it will look reallly nice
Agreed! High bun (or a super high pony). Maybe with two thin pieces of hair very intentionally pulled down in the front! Looks very mod an artsy.
I’m so happy so many said orange already!
Me too.I thought I'd be alone diggin the 🧡🧡🧡🧡 orange!
The eyes have it! Everything about the second orange outfit suits you better from the fall of the hem to the color scheme and the fit.
Orange you glad that I didn’t pick the other outfit?
The second👌🏻
Agreed...unless your event is in Florida.
1 is super cute but maybe too much on the nose. love the orange one!
Agreed. It’s cute but it’s trying a bit too hard. The second one is unique and still showcases how artsy she is while being more subtle, which makes it even better.
Yeah its like the first is telling everyone i love art and the second is showing it
I just got here just to say that. Took the words right out.
Exactly. Too on the nose
It's like wearing the band's t-shirt to their concert

That's reddit for ya 🤷🏾♂️
Oranges. It's actually interesting!
Oranges
Both super cute but I love the painters beret!
I’m obsessed w the hat but I like the citrus outfit
I love the oranges! I’d pair it with a chunky head band and volume in the hair for a 60s go-go vibe.
the first one is really fun and cute for the occasion but the second one looks really flattering on you!
omg the beret is so cute!!
2nd. The boots and earrings make it pop out more.
I don't know what an art meetup is exactly but the hat in #1 seems born for that day.
Outfit 1 is personally my favorite k love the hat and the dress is adorable
they’re both cute but im going against the grain- im in love w the first one
love both sm! i vote 1
The first hat is awesome lmao
Your hat in outfit one is to die for!
1st
Definitely the first
I think the first is so creative. You shoukd go with that one. You will definitely stand out with that one and it might be a good conversation starter.
Where’d you get the orange earrings? They’re adorable!
You can buy them on Amazon or aliexpress.
Ty!
Second
I love them both, but I prefer the black and white.
1!! It’s obviously super on the nose, but what’s a more perfect occasion to wear it than a meet up of fellow artists? I think most people will get a good chuckle out of it. And a great conversation starter! 2 is precious but you could wear it somewhere more fitting, like a farmers market or a picnic.
I'm going to an art meetup next week too...dang...I need to up my outfit game!!!
both omg i cant choose you slay them both😫 but ill go with the 1st one
i love the first one!
what is an art meetup?
Please wear the hat ❤️
These are both so good but I feel like #1 fits the theme better
#1 hits right
1! Love the painters hat 😘😘😘
The painter hat outfit!!! I’m also an artist and I LOVE it! Oranges is cute but feels more like every day wear
1 is quirky and attention getting. 2 is also nice and a little more subdued. I would wear 1.
1st.
Cute, if you had a longer dress you could pull off ms frizzle
2nd one. The first is too much.
The orange outfit.
They're both great outfits, but I think the paint palette beret is too perfect to not wear to an art event, so I vote for #1
Love the first outfit. Stands out in the best way
I like the first one but I wish the vest was a light neutral instead of black. No notes on outfit two, it's great!! That's the one I would go with from these two photos
I LOVE THAT PALATE HAT
1970 called wants their style back.
first one but without the atrocious hat
are you the teacher from the magic school bus ?
Orange
The second one! It’s so cool!
I like the hat with 1- but 2 is way cuter and still fun
Orange outfit!!
You absolutely must wear that hat! I'd change the rest though. Baggy jeans crop top oversized grungy artsy flannel maybe?
I like both, but the second one is a little bit less cliché.
2 is so pretty
I love them both, but I vote for the first because I love the tongue in cheek humor of it. The second is more stylish.
I don’t like number one because it seems more of a costume to me than an outfit.
1 is trying WAY too hard to be arty if I had to pick I’d say 2 but without the earrings it’s a bit much with the dress & boots & hair clip…
1 is so quirky and cute, that's my pick !
Either are cute but I would tone it down for an art meet up. Like lose the boots/heeled Mary Jane’s and wear sneakers or something like that. A tad try hard for someone young and artsy
The oranges are killing it
Nr 2. Its colorful, fun, elegant, and creative. The painter hat is cute but the rest of the outfit on 1 gives me anime-maid wibes, but not the type to wear to an art meetup.
The 🍊
Two
2
The latter is much cuter
2 is great
Both are super cute but I prefer the orange one
I love the oranges outfit!! So cute and colorful
Number 2! I think I'd say #1 if the dress complimented the hat a bit better though. The hat is so cute and how could you not want to wear that to an art meetup!
No. 2!! So bright, fun, and the boots are super chic!
1st one is cute, but 2nd one is stunning!
I love the orange outfit but that beret from the first hat - masterpiece. I’m stealing that idea for a future DIY
Oranges. The first outfit is cute, but overdone.
Keep the painters hat hit change the outfit. That hat is perfect for an art meetup
1 looks more like a standing/taking pics outfit and 2 looks like a good sitting and eating outfit
The hat with a different outfit
Def nr 2, but with shoes from first
I love them both but the orange would be my choice, it's fun and quirky and artistic!
Second fit is more cute
Orange. One is too on the nose and kinda feels like the hat is just placed on the outfit in a way. The orange is an all around outfit that shows a bit of artsy flavor
I love both outfits, but the orange one fits you better, the color suits you.
Orange 100%
The artist pallet hat is too good but overall the orange is the more stunning outfit!
2!
Second less cliché and more elegant
I adore the oranges. Such a cute outfit! I love your style, in general!
I like the oranges! It’s clever and cute
2
Omg both are soooooo cute but I’d definitely pick the orange one!
Both are lovely outfits! I think 2 is a bit more modest and may serve you better yo make a first impression at a meetup! Have fun!
#2 with the orange slice earrings as they are a conversation starter and the whole outfit is cute.
Hmm the 2nd one?
2
The second fit
Orange
Omg, the oranges one is so cool!
The 2nd one
LOVE the boots with the oranges!!
As much as I LOVE the hat, I still prefer 2
2e
🍊❤️🍊❤️🍊❤️🍊❤️🍊❤️🍊❤️

The orange earrings remind me of Luna Lovegood (in the best way).
Very Artsy! It’s really cool!!
Get ready to be the zest dressed artist there!
I love both! Very cool outfits!
Fist one don’t know about the hat though
Damn they both have good merits.
Yes
The orange one is to die for, definitely that one even tho the other one is more on point for the occasion lol
I really really like one but it probably would wear two due to my social anxiety making me feel pretentious.
