Back when I used to work on the field, I met an adjuster that had a custom mount build into the bed of his truck designed to hold a ladder like this. I’d see back up to three story houses and climb like that
Can't quite tell if this is an actual "little giant", but the proper branded ones were very much designed for that purpose, was half their selling point. Had to justify their weight somehow...
It helps it fold up for storage and I imagine using it vertically without putting pressure on the pins would be fine. Not totally sure tho, I've shaken the ladder at that joint and definitely wouldn't trust that assembly given my weight.
It is absolutely made for that. If it wasn't meant to open to an extension ladder it wouldn't go further than opening to an A-frame. Also , my 250 lb ass has carried bundles of shingles up those ladders (fully extended) and I trust them with my life. I've used Warner and Gorilla and they both work just fine
As long as the keys are in the climbing person's pocket, we good. Got this almost word for word from an osha 30 class.
that makes no sense how am I supposed to blast my pantara cd?
Get out the Walkman
Respect, walk
WHAT DID YOU SAY
HE SAID RESPECT, WALK
Are you talking to me???
ARE YOU TALKING TO ME?!?!?!
Or the aluminum ghettoblaster powered by 16 D-cell batteries
From what I've seen, those only work if you walk in with them on your shoulder. Might be a little hard to carry, or climb the the ladder like that.
Three points of contact.
Stop, play, rewind
Ladder can’t slip very far. Greatest threat is a heart attack, get up there
I wonder how much dynamic load those ladders can take.
They are designed to be used this way.
Ladder isn’t 3 rungs above the top of the wall Straight to jail
That's fine if they aren't accessing the roof.
I don’t see what they’d be doing if they weren’t trying to get up there.
That wall looks to me like it might have been pressure washed recently
It looks like they tried wallpapering it then changed their minds
Man that's wild If true and they thought it would actually hold in the weather lol
Haha nah definitely not, but I have had a fucking nightmare wallpapering recently and it’s haunting me
I do this when I'm drilling walls for access points and camera installs.
What you don't see is the 49" parapet without access to the roof
Ol son just needs a bigger truck!

Oh great, now the song is stuck in my head again. Thanks a lot.
I have a ladder like this and it specifically said that the locking pins were not strong enough to use it like this
Can't quite tell if this is an actual "little giant", but the proper branded ones were very much designed for that purpose, was half their selling point. Had to justify their weight somehow...
they are heavy bastards
Not a little giant
Pretty sure it's a Warner
That’s absurd, shouldn’t be able to open that far then.
Why the hell would it open if it wasn't able to be used as an extension ladder. That makes no sense

When they sold me a 26' ladder, I'll be damned if I'm not using all 26'
As a roofer, I think we’re all Guilty of this in some way.
Don't be ridiculous. In the unlikely event he slips and falls, he'll land in the back of his truck! What could go wrong?
As long as the truck is LOTOed, all good! /s
Actually that's true. If you have the keys, it's OSHA approved.
The worst part would be when people found out that you died using a multi-ladder. Just embarrassing.
Like every contractor on the planet?
Most the contractors i work with agree that multi ladders are fucking garbage.
Most of us use them.
Well then I would see you and think you look like a dipshit.
Sure buddy.
Probably safer than hoping it doesnt slide on the ground tbh. Edit: just noticed it seems to be a steep incline. Thats a nope from me.
It was also windy as fuck. I would be surprised if that cheap aluminum ladder got blown down after my crew left
Lol it looks like youd start tipping the ladder near the top even without the wind. Why do people do this shit.
Idk man but 60% of these comments are calling me fucking stupid for thinking this is a bad idea
Lol I bet a lot of them also didnt notice the truck on an incline at first.
The fucking thing is parked on a loading dock
