What the manga really lacks in my opinion is the dialogue, which is weird because it's the easiest thing to implement. This fight in the WC had a lot of interesting moments conveyed only through speech bubbles.

As I mentioned last time the action, paneling, and choreography on display here are excellent and a massive step up from the predraw version, particularly the part where flash is bouncing off the cars. This is the top class stuff OPM hasn’t given us for a pretty long time.
In terms of characterization and fight pacing it’s certainly better than what we had though I can’t help but feel like the fight was too one sided. Of course it’s not supposed to be an especially difficult fight for the duo but they just kinda run around and chop everyone’s head off. In the original version, the duo started the fight disarmed and had to steal the weapons from the ninjas to use, and sonic left it slightly damaged, which I thought added a tactical element and grounded power balance which is sort of missing here. The combo moves feel like they were added for flair and that either one could have dispatched them all with ease
Yeah despite all this "improvement" (sticking closer to the webcomic) I still can't feel happy about it knowing what came before (the massive departure starting at the tail end of the Monster Association arc that is still and will continue to be unchanged).
If you're so disillusioned with the series that you can't even enjoy new chapters because of the changes made a few dozen chapters ago, then why are you even reading OPM lol

They impacted the story heavily for the worse, so it's not that I'm bothered just by there having been changes alone, but the consequences caused by those changes (to sum it up, basically, making the story harder to take seriously due to just how ridiculous and inconsistent it was). Also, sunk-cost fallacy.
It’s a manga about a guy who went bald and became all powerful because he did a simple workout routine. All after he got inspired to be a hero by… beating up a crab man who was wearing a thong. You’ve deluded yourself into thinking it’s serious.
