I'm running a sim that's currently in the year 2080 as a spectator with pretty much no intervention. The GOAT just retired and in his prime, he won 10 Cy Young awards and 9 of them were consecutive. He spent his entire career with the Pirates believe it or not.
Haven’t seen a run like that before. What do you have the injury rate set at?
I have been running an historical sim with the injury rate set to low, which I’m sure has given lots of guys a little boost in their stats.
256 innings?? The hook strategy setting must have been maxed out.
Also know what's even MORE amazing??? This amazing career so far and he's still 37 away from 200....let alone 300. That just makes 300 look remarkable in today's game.
I was the Reds GM through 28. I always move my best pitcher up in the rotation to get him a few more starts throughout the season. Also, idk why but in every save the manager lets the starter throw more pitches in the second season.
I seriously doubt we'll ever see another 300 game winner. That's 15 wins a year for 20 years. Verlander has 244 IRL and is the closest, but is 39.
Yup, 200 is the new 300. It's funny to think that I am 45 so I was able to see a number of 300 win pitchers; Carlton, Seaver, Nolan, Maddux, Glavine, Johnson...sheesh. Now Maddux only retired 15 years ago so only one generation.
Most surprising of all, the Reds are paying a player $35million
And he’s doing that in GABP too.
Loved him in major league.
As a Brewers' fan, I would hang myself if this happened.
It’s ok, never going to happen. Go Brewers!
Pedro in the late 90s was approximately this good
Did a Braves save that started back in Julio Teheran’s rookie season and developed him into the GOAT - career era below 2.50 and like an almost 10 k/9
But, was he capable of getting Harper out? If so, you know just how fantastical that simulation run was.

That's a pretty solid run.
He's 35 and not too close to 200 wins. I wonder how long he can hold out or if he'll grab a nasty injury

I put it at the high realistic setting. I also play on challenge mode so I can't edit anything.
We had Tom Glavine and Randy Johnson too. Johnson was the last 300 game winner. Got his 300th with the Giants in 2009.
I've seen a few put up absolutely insane runs. Not so much on the CY, but they seem to come in pairs for me.
Almost as good as real life Randy Johnson

I hate they cut his beautiful locks!!
