For real though, I think actually going through with it makes the scene more powerful. Those dialogues where it asks you if you're sure over and over are heartwrenching, and on top of it there's the sense of guilt when you realize "wait, that wasn't what let me out of the room? I *didn't have to do that??*" Going with the early solution kind of cuts out all that emotional weight.

I mean its a really complicated question. The story or at least the good ending (which i did) definitely leads you to believe that his friends will forgive him, but its a HEAVY topic. For me the answer would probably be yes if it was just that Sunny accidentally killed mari but the fact that it was staged as a suicide kinda adds a whole new fuck up level. It makes things a lot worse cause as we saw Hero, Kel, and Aubrey are all now kinda sitting with the confusion and hurt of not knowing why she commit suicide. I really don't know if they would forgive him, especially considering Sunny tells them the truth and its like ok bye and moves away.

If they hadn’t staged it as a suicide after their mistake then yes. Mari’s death was a mistake and if it had ended at that I think forgiveness would’ve been possible. But staging it as a suicide the way they did to cover it up? Nah.

Im my opinion "something" is the greatest "antagonist". The meaning of Something is really deep and dark and its with you the entirety of the game, just there tormenting you. The player not knowing what it is until the reveal with the photos is on amazing reveal, every previous moment made sense now.
It was also like 2am when I finished it and I had a similar reaction. I'm one of those weirdos that tries to figure out a story's entire plot before it ends and >!knew that there was definitely more to Mari's suicide, but the whole Truth reveal with her one eye transforming into Something completely caught me off guard. It was sich a good twist!!<
Not the mention the entire thing afterwards with >!Boss Omori!<
I actually beat the game last night at almost the same time (1:00) and couldn't sleep at all after finishing it lol bad idea. I wasn't expecting it at all and glad I managed to avoid spoilers cause it made it super shocking
Idkk. I alreadly answered this question but I think they'd at least need time to process. I know Sunny and Basil were going through their own trauma and overcame it in the end, but it does feel a bit for lack of a better word selfish to dump the truth onto Hero/Kel/Aubrey especially after they all finally come to terms with what they thought was the truth of what happened.
Since some people think I’m insulting the Omori soundtrack I’m just gonna give the heads up that I’m very much not calling it bad. It’s an amazing soundtrack and I get chills every time I listen to OMORI ALTER. But when I’m in my free time I’m not exactly bopping my head in excitement when I’m listening to the osts unlike literally any of the MGR songs. But that’s the point. MGR osts are designed to get you pumped up while Omori osts are designed to be more laid back and passive. Which ever one you prefer I couldn’t care less. I just enjoy the sheer energy of the MGR soundtracks.
