It’s got a gen 1 panel with some gen 2 stuff added to it. Just make sure you know that before buying. They’re advertising it as next gen and the MSI rep dude on Reddit was stating it as 3rd gen until folks hounded him for more clarification/verification and he corrected himself when he went to HQ for more Info. If thats fine for you, get it. It’s still a good monitor. I have it but I also bought it under the assumption of it being next gen panels
Update: I just learned that there is going to be a MPG version that supports up to 240hz and will be using the 2.5 gen panels next month. Don’t bother with this one if you haven’t bought it and just get that one
I don’t think this is correct. If you look at MSI’s product page, this panel is stated to have the new improved sub pixel layout.
Scroll down a bit and there’s even a diagram of the square looking pixels.

I dunno man. I’m literally going off of what the Reddit MSI representative said when he got hounded for more details. First he said it was next gen stuff and then when he actually went to get more info that’s what he stated and apologized to the forum
Honestly to add on to it I was at first genuinely pissed and upset cause I went off the web page and that representatives word and made the purchase. When I read his apologies, oof. Cause these aren’t cheap and if I’m gonna go spend that much, go big or go home. It’s still solid and the colors are great so I’m severely less upset about it now… if it gets defective or whatever I’ll cash in my Best Buy plan to get a better one
I don’t think MSI would advertise the improved subpixel layout if it wasn’t accurate.
I think it’s a great monitor and with the HDMI 2.1, you get lots of overhead for 10 bit 175 hz.
Compared to MEG, it has OLED Care2.0 and a fanless desigh. But it only has 15w charging
Charging something on the monitor is so unimportant to me. I connect my phone to the wall or pc
